You could buy a different setup, but if you don't understand the principles behind why your vape is not tasting good, you will probably end up in a similar situation.

My advice would be to get this one vaping properly, understand why it stopped working, how to fix it - this will give you a great foundation for when you move on to 'better' delivery devices.

First thing I would do would be to empty the clearo, rinse it out in hot water, fill it up with vodka or a high proof clear alcohol and shake it like crazy. Let it sit an hour or two - rinse it well, shake it out then try again.
Make sure the clearo is full of liquid (twirl it around as you vape to keep those wicks saturated) and start on the lowest setting. Turn it up a bit of a time until you get the vape you like.

I guarantee you can get almost as good a flavorful vape from an ego twist as you can from a $200 dollar APV if you know the basics.

^ Very good advice.

It has the knurled base so it should be able to be fully disassembled, so you can clean/dry burn it, can you remove the base/stem from the tank?

Yes this atomizer can come apart into pieces. I just bought this new atomizer this morning. Do you really think it needs to be cleaned already?

I highly recommend taking all new clearomizers apart and do a thoroughly cleaning before use.

As mentioned above, hot water rinse, vodka soak of all parts/wicks/everything, hot water rinse, dry if desired.

*Edit* Note, if you don't dry it will take many puffs to work the water out of your wicks and allow them to properly saturate with juice.

I like the iClear 16 suggestion. I bought one a month or two ago and was astounded at the difference it made on a plain eGo battery. I think mine was a 1.8 ohm, so lower than I was used to using and it was very satisfying compared to the other clearos. That said, I'm sold on the Kanger Protanks...I have not had a burned taste since I started using them.

One of the setups I use with great results with any e juice is an Ego twist set to 4 volts with an I clear 16 with a 2.0 or 2.5 coil
is an iclear 16 a type of atty? Also how do I know how many coils it has? What are the benefits of having more or less coils. Are the coils the metal on the wick?

the iclear looks pretty much like the clearomizers you're using now. The only difference is that it's dual coil with 4 wicks instead of 2, so it probably wicks a little better. Wicks are silica, just twice as many. I don't really know if it makes that much difference, but mine was the first lower-ohm clearo I tried and it made a big difference in the "hit", it took me a while to get used to it.

If I dry burn this are you guys sure I won't burn my wick?

Wick is made of silica and the coil will not burn it - it's almost impossible. I thought the same when I first started dry burning.

Just a word of caution - pulse the battery fire button - 3-4 secs, blow on the coil and then let it go for a moment. Repeat until it glows red and evenly. Then make sure you do a final rinse in hot water to remove any gunk you burnt off - that's important.

I want to thank everyone on here that has helped me. thanks so much. I definitely learned a lot.
I suppose my next step is to try and master this ego I have before I move onto anything more complicated.

Are there any modifications anyone recommends I can buy for this ego? what kind of atomizer works best? I seethat I was recommended the I 16.

I'm a pretty new vaper myself. I'm sold on the Kanger Protanks. I just got a couple protank 2's today and I love them. I've also gotten kanthal and silica wick so I can rebuild them. I know that's not for everybody, but I like "fiddly" things. My results have been a tremendous improvement from the ce4s I started with.

I also have a couple vivi nova tanks. They work well, but I prefer the protanks by far. For thicker juices, the protanks perform fantastic. I've learned that I tend to like the higher VG juices.

I heard the vivi novas are good. I like fiddling things also maybe. Maybe I should look into the kanthal. I did just order two i 16's for my ego though. See how those work out. I'm totally for trying new products at this point. Call it my experimental stage.
