Whats up guys. Im trying to kick a currently 1 - 1 and a half pack a day (used to be 2) cigarette habit which brought me to the wonderful world of vaping.

My current setup is a Vamo V5 with some ....ty non rebuildable atomizers that came with it.

Ordered a Davide King BDC tank, and a 510 to 510 airflow controller, as i heard some Vamos had 510 threading issues. The airflow controller should be here in about a week, i figure the threads will be fine untill then unless i abuse the hell out of them. So far the 510 tanks that came with it seem to fit nicely and dont wobble or move at all.

Currently vaping Vapor Alley juices, but i got some from Virgin Vapors coming in as they seem to be better.

I know this probably isnt a great setup, but being on a budget this seemed to me like a good. Basically i would like to know from you seasoned veterans if there is anything else i should get/need and any tips you might have for a noob.

I try to read and watch as many youtube videos as i can but there is nothing like actually talking to people.

Hello, I can't give you much advice on the Vamo as I have no experience with one, but I know they can have bad threads, probably in part why you got the airflow control. If the AFC you got does'nt have Ego threads and you want them, might be a good idea to pick up one of these while available, so you have it if needed. Hi and Welcome to ECF! Glad you joined us here :)

Im sure with AFC you will get to make good use out of the vamo for a good while. To keep costs down, when you feel like you want something new or better - try tank upgrades. A lot of folks do the reverse and upgrade the battery tube/box and continue on with the same tank and are disappointed. You can change SO MUCH with a good tank. I havent used the new one you have on the way - but I am hoping its awesome!

Happy Vaping!

I was looking at the Vamo last week. I ended up getting a Mech mod, fell in love with dripping. If I'm at home that's what I'm doing. I still use the hell out of my Ego's though while running around. Wish I could get the same taste with them as dripping.

How have you been doing with the smoking ? I still have the same pack I had when I got my Ego's a little over 2 weeks ago. I was using the Blu before that, but I was still going outside twice a day to smoke. I lit one up the other day and put it out so I could go vape. I LOVED smoking and didn't want to stop, but found nodules in my lungs during a x-ray.

This is becoming as much of a hobby as a habit.

So far only been 3 days but seems to be killing the need for cigs. I would regularly chain smoke like 4-5 cigs in span of 20 min so I'm happy that's gone so far. I also find myself not fiending for smoke whenever i have a spare minute at work, where i would normally powersmoke a cig in like 2 minutes. Thank god for 26mg juice

Can't wait for my BDC to come so i can get some good vapor going.

Update- Just got AFC and Davide in the mail.

I think i might have screwed them in too tight as AFC is pretty much part of my V5 now lol.

Davide gives me low load error when tightened all the way, if i loosen it just a tad, like 1/20th of a turn works great.

Currently running at 10 Watts. Is that too low/high?

Wow, a vamo v5 is pretty advanced for a new user, and a great APV by all accounts. I started out with Evods a couple months ago, and only just got round to upgrading to a Coolfire 2. My only complaint with this device is the limited battery life, and I may also get a vamo some way down the line, I'm good for now, but I may go for the next model if/when it comes out.

I had a Vamo V-3 and was having problems with the threads getting wobbly so I ordered a couple of the 510 to eGo adapters, put one on there and didn't have a bit of problem after that. My girlfriend got me a Vamo V-5 for Christmas and she made sure to get me the stainless steel one and this thing is a champ! I also picked up an Anyvape Davide last week and it works awesome too. It will fit on my VTR which was the purpose of me picking it up. If you are looking for those adapters, try Fastech, I am pretty sure you can score like five of them for the price that you would pay for one on a "normal" website

I have a vamo v3 and love it. I'm running 12-14w on my dual coil (single coils would only need half of that) iclear30.

The only suggestion I would make is to try different types of tanks, to figure out what you like the best. I personally lean to top coils and cartos, but some people seem to really dig those bottom coil attys.

As an aside, if you decide to try anything above 12W, the vamos don't seem to be able to push out that much electricity w/o stacking (and there are a slew of safety precautions to take, if you go that route).
