New to vaping - my experience so far PLUS a couple of questions!

Hello all,

I bought my first e-cigarette a few days ago after seeing someone sell them in my local shopping centre. He had a temporary stall set up - the kind that normally sell cheap sunglasses and mobile phone covers! He seemed decent though, and gave me a card with a website on.

The website I have seen no mention of on this forum after a quick sweep and search. It is E-Z Quit home page. I'm in the UK by the way. As you can see, they sell the 'M402' 'M403' and 'M6' (mini). I bought the mini, in the £25 starter pack, with USB charger, 5 cartridges (different from the one shown) along with a borderline nonsensical instruction leaflet ("Ways for using USB charger" - ouch!)

Anyway, I plugged it in when I got back to work, charged it til it turned green. Then went to the bathroom and puffed it. Beautiful! Tasted great. I had a few more and got a decent nicotine rush. Went and sat back down. Puffed it some more on the way home too, about the normal amount of time I'd have a cigarette. All was well. I got back home and had a few more puffs, still good, then charged it as it was flashing. Not impressed with battery life!

So obviously one cartridge should be 20 cigs worth of nicotine. By the end of the evening, having puffed a couple times while sitting at the computer, I was getting no more flavour. So I changed cartridge. That cartridge was also dead after maybe 40-50 puffs.

Now I was never a major smoker - Usually only smoked 5 a day. I surely would not have smoked 20 in a day, this would make me ill!

So I have questions.
What am I doing wrong!?
How do I store it?
Should I unscrew it while it's not in use?
How long should I be smoking it for?
How long should a cartridge last?
Does anyone else have experience with this retailer/model?

Any help would be supremely appreciated - at the moment I am impressed with the experience, but wish it would last longer!

This sounds like you got a knock off product that really should be chucked into the garbage. I am sorry you had to waste hard earned dollars on this thing. I saw the website and well, this is not a good brand of ecig. It is somthing you would find at a carnival, cheaply made and someone who enjoys stealing your money by selling this crap. Ok, you are in luck. I am in Canada and just happened to run by a website in the UK and wanted to try this

Mini Tankomizer electronic cigarette LOVE IT! It is very similar to the one I bought in Canada, only this one is a tank system. So right now I have 2 different ecigs I am using. One from the UK and one from Canada. Here is the one I use in Canada. I did wonder! Thank you very much for your help. What is a reasonable price to pay for cartridges? This guy was selling them for 50p each. So I think I'll buy a couple more of these and upgrade next month when I have more cash. Thanks!

Actually at your level of smoking, you might be able to get by with that thing. However, a good general rule is that when a vendor says a cartridge is the equivalent of a pack of cigarettes especially on a cigarette sized device, they are lying and they probably way over priced.

40-50 puffs on a cartridge sounds right.

I don't know why they say a pack of cigarettes, it's about 3 cigarettes.

Rule of thumb for those little mini e-cigs:

• the battery will last about an hour between charges

• the cartridge is good for a few cigs worth of puffs (not a pack or two)

Nobody knows why the manufacturer wants to LIE and say that they (the "cheap" minis) last so long and deliver so much, they just don't. The good news is that you have discovered that these little "fake" cigarettes really CAN work! IMO, that info is worth whatever money you spent. Now you can get down to the task of finding the right one for you and truly get started in your vaping journey.

browsed the CSAA website earlyer and they said in the majority of cases the 20 cig = a cart is a lie, its more like 3-5.
i thought the same at first when i ordered blucigs, and was wondering why it went from; flavor, no flavor, crap taste, and atty only lasting a week.
so after 6 months i stopped using it, didnt go back to smoking either, but had negative things to say about ecigs.
the next year i hit a high stress situation and started smoking again, bill's piled up, so i came here and read 100's of post's of do's and dont's, i found ego, no more cigs since last november.

Publius as I understand it these vendors figure it as I ml of liquid = 1 pack maybe they figure that by the mg of nic per ml....not sure but that's why they say that. For most people its going to be (at a guess ) around 2ml of liquid to equal 1 pack. I'm judging this by me so it is sure to be off for others. I smoked 1 1/2 -2 packs a day and go through 4 to 5 ml a day of liquid. A cartidge generally holds 1 ml of liquid I believe. Hope this helps.

If you don't press a button to make your battery work (manual battery), you should unscrew it from the atomizer because wind and noise can cause automatic batteries to start up. Otherwise, you can do whatever works best for you.

congrats on making the jump. the carts can be topped up, you just need to buy some juice to drip in. many prefer getting larger capacity batteries to last.

My first e-cig was like this. I had bought it online for $5 and unwittingly signed up for a subscription service that charged me $80/month for 10 cartridges. After I got it, the next month I got a new shipment and thought it might be a free refill or something. Then the month after that I get an email telling me that they listed the number wrong on my billing statement. It was only then (duh) that I realized what was happening. I immediately called them to cancel, and that was a real headache. The sales guy would not take no for an answer! I wanted to return the send month's package and they said don't bother, we will just refund you 40 of the 80 dollars.

I feel pretty stupid about throwing $120 down the drain like that. Thing is, I didn't realize how big this world of e-cigs is. If I'd only done a search to find out what was out there, I never would have done it. I really thought that the only product available was one that looks like a cigarette, the one I bought.

Me too Bob Halford. I didn't know about all these fancy black techy looking things! I'll have to do a bit of digging. Although my main objective was to save money, so I'm doing well on that so far.
