Good points VW I will take a hard look into the e-power. I still would like to know if there is some e-cig that will protect me against an atty shorting out. Will a e-power prevent that? If not even though madvapes stands behind it I would be out of action until they replaced or repaired it.

Yea looks like the ProVari does have protection against Atty shorts and alot more. It also looks like it will make me breakfast in the morning. (Assuming I load it with waffle juice)

very cool device but $$$ wow.

Thinking about it though I have almost spent that in batteries trying to make this leo work 10+ at $18 each minus the exchange on the kit I returned.

I vaped for about three weeks before I pulled the trigger on the Provari. The Darwin just didn't look as well constructed, but it also gets great reviews...

The ProVari allegedly has short protection, but I've honestly not tested it out. Haven't come across a bad one yet. I'd make sure I was going to stick with this before I'd lay out that kind of money...

Do you know for sure if your atty really has shorted? You can test this with a multimeter, if you have one. Just would hate to see that blamed if it's not the case. Short of getting a bad batch (not impossible) several shorted atties in such a small bunch would be an anomaly, especially on a relatively low voltage battery. Not impossible at all, but would be strange...

I'm leaning more towards a bad charger or something of that nature...

The eGo batteries rock. The ePower get good reviews too, but I'd be inclined to go for something that has an excellent reputation to stand on, like a genuine Joye eGo. You'd only be looking $15-18 for the battery alone, and starter kits can be found for $50 or less... That's way less than I spent on my first, lousy kit...

I'd hate to see you give up on vaping because you're not using good equipment. I did it three years ago, and I'm very fortunate to have come back to it to give it another try. I'm firmly off analogs now... can't stand the smell.

I am pretty sure it's a shorted Atty. I started using the second kits charger when I got it and lost two batteries after that. I have a good Multimeter so i'm going to test the attys I have and find out for sure.

I am really looking that ProVari over well. If I find a shorted atty or attys I think I will pull the trigger. I looked at the Darwin too and as advanced as it is it's just damn ugly I cant see myself vaping off that.

It's not the money for me it's my health and I want to succeed at this. I cant do that with unreliable equipment. If I don't have anything to vape I start eyeballing convenience stores as I go by.

Sorry I did not read the whole thread. Are you using the same charger? If so then I would suspect the charger cable or what you are plugging it into. Get a new charger cable and I recommend a nice stable supply for charging batteries - I use Rosewill RUC6181 2amp 4-port USB to AC to hold 4 assorted battery cables. If you take the cables off you could use a PT on it (don't use a PT on the same thing you are charging batteries on)

Or give up on Leo and get a Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights.com - click the 20% off and get a Riva 510 Lite Bundle (2 complete 750mah Rivas) for under $30. Boge 2.0 cartos are very popular on it. I use standard resistance Boges because I move them between slim 510 and my Riva.

Well I got a chance tonight to put a Ohm meter to a few of these Leo attys. I have and found two open (was kind of obvious) four good and one with resistance so low I could barely detect the reading on my meter. This has to be shorted. The sad thing is.. and it makes sense looking back with a bit more education. This atty seemed to work better than the others but did get hot fast.

I decided to order the ProVari and already placed an order. Now I need to baby this Leo while I patiently wait for what seem to be a long queue for these. I think I will order one of the Riva 510's. I could use a backup anyway.

Thanks for the help all.
