Alright, I just wasn't sure because of the whole 420 mAh and it saying that it's not recommended to use it to charge 510 batteries. Since I don't understand what any of that means, I wasn't sure if it would work for my twist. It says it's input is 5V and its output is 4.2V - 420mAh.

Yeah that's an eGo charger. The one charging one of my 1000mAh Twists right now is a 4.2v, 420mA charger.

"eGo" is a standard or style. Until you start to figure out all the lingo we all throw around, just make sure to get "eGo" whatever you're getting. Since you started with eGo, get eGo, and that should work out fine.

(eGo batteries can also do 510 but you can worry about that later. If you even ever end up caring as you don't really have to. The set up you got sounds like a good one to me, you may stick with it for a long time and not have to worry what a 510 or 808 or bleem fnords and whizzle jams are . :D )

Awesome thanks, this is exactly what I needed to know.

So then what does 510 means exactly, I've heard it used to describe a lot of things, and people talking about things being or not being 510 compatible.

It actually comes down to the threads. If you look at the top of your Twist, you'll see it has screw threads on the outside and the inside. The outside ones are eGo threads, the inside ones are 510 threads. Like here:

egolatest.jpg

(Pic shamelessly swiped from The Ocelot, one of my gurus from whom I learned so much. :) ).

Basically, really, it comes down to whether a widget will screw onto the battery or not. With an eGo battery, you get your choice. eGo threaded widgets or 510 threaded. They both work. There are other standards out there like the 808 (for example) that will not fit. As I said earlier, though, don't worry too much about it. If you want to buy some new widget, make sure it's "eGo" compatible. They'll say so if they are (and if they don't say so, don't do it :) ).

You'll pick the terms up soon enough. Well, enough to do what you want. There's still stuff people talk about that goes right over my head. Vaping has so freaking many options, nobody knows them all.

(Or I shouldn't say that. I have run into some real guru types around here that know so much, they're a little scary. :D).

Also, can you drip with a Vivi Nova? I've heard different things.

Speaking of not everybody knowing everything, I dunno. Dripping ain't my area. It's supposed to be the ultimate vape so I must be doing it wrong when I've tried it. I usually just make a mess and burn my fingers.

(I am, however, an expert klutz)

I would think the answer is "no". Clearos and dripping? I've never heard of such a thing.

Dripping is a pretty simple idea really. You get an atomizer (which is basically just the heater widget all by itself) and drip the juice on the part that gets hot. Of course, you have a mouthpiece kinda thing you stick on the atomizer (they get pretty hot, I think e-juices vaporize around 200 degrees or something like that... I dunno exactly).

Me, I'm lazy. I use Vision clearos (not the Vivi but the "stardust" style CE5 types... they look like the CE4 in The Ocelot's pic up there but the coil heads are replaceable). Clearos are "squirt juice in, screw on battery, vape" simple. I like simple. :)

I see, thanks for the 510 and eGo lesson, that makes perfect sense now. I figured you probably couldnt drip on the Vivi Nova, but I thought I would ask. Dripping doesn't interest me all that much but I was curious.

So then a non 510 charger like the one i purchased, will screw into the eGo threads and 510 chargers would screw into the 510 threads?

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

Actually, the chargers are identical and both use the 510 threads. Which has always struck me as a bad idea on the manufacturer's part. A 510 battery will fit an eGo charger. Physically. Just the results will be Not Good.

But you've got eGo batteries and an eGo charger. It's not something you'll run into. Unless for some reason you like fireworks so you run out and buy a 510 battery just to see it explode? :)

The general idea is the eGo is a "step up" from the 510. eGo batteries can use 510 parts but it doesn't go the other way. The Vivi Novas are 510 threaded. You probably noticed they screw into the inside threads. It's just a way of giving you more options. 510 was really big and there's a lot of 510 widgets out there. Seems the eGo is displacing it now but the batteries having both threads means you can use a lot more stuff.

In fact, funny thing, you've seen Blu advertising so much I'm sure (they seem to be on the TV about every five minutes these days). Their little cartridges are 510 threaded. I've used them on my Twist even. I started with Blu and when I dumped them, had cartridges left over. Used up what was left on my Twist.

I'll take a look at the Forum Supplier section, thanks.

Welcome to ECF. You can actually "drip" with the VIVI NOVA (kinda). The reason behind the quotation marks is its not actually considered real dripping once you actually get into it. When i first started vaping I didn't want to spend much money getting into something that I was not sure would help me stop ANALOGS. So I had a vivi nova tank and some ego twists as my initial set up and I was not too keen on filling an entire tank with a juice I just ordered if it wasnt ready to be vaped yet. So i tried "dripping" directly onto the coils the reassembling the tank to test flavor. Like I said its not really what you would consider dripping but if you are idle with time on your hands its a good way to test the jucie with out filling a tank. My :2c: VAPE ON!!!!!!!!:vapor:

Wow okay. I guess nothing can be simple anymore haha. I'll just stick with your rule then and only get things that are eGo compatible.

Heh, it's confusing at first. I remember my head spinning more than a few times. :)

Lot of it makes a ton more sense once you, yourself, get going vaping. Then you start thinking, "Oh that's what they're going on about". Like anything else, makes more sense when you actually get some experience doing it yourself. Plus, the basic kit you describe, you're not going to need a ton of things. Spare battery when you get a chance. Nothing worse than having your battery die and you have to wait for it to charge up. More clearomizers (the Vivi Nova and other "tank" widgets with the wicks in them are often called "clearomizers" or "clearos" for short). Especially as you find liquids you like. I've got a good half dozen filled and ready right now. I like to switch flavors. Nice thing about vaping, you can switch flavors. Couldn't really do that with my cigarettes. :)

Those are fairly inexpensive also. I use a guy close to me who ships really quick (being I'm just outside the city, I get my stuff overnight but pay first class, he gets stuff out the door quick!). Some of his Vision stuff here: Vision : ValueVapor.com. I use the "Vision Stardust 2.0 eGo Clearomizers" which are more often referred to as CE5... I think. Some of the terminology seems not very settled. Anyway, you can see on the page he's also go parts for the Vivi Nova Mini. Coil heads run all of $3. They're not terribly expensive widgets.

Lots of other good vendors folks around here can point you to so you can shop around, get good prices, save some cash. Which is always a good thing...
