Hello all, i am hoping that someone can help me out. I just recently started vaping and after trying a cheap (vapin plus) vaporizer i decided to move up to something bigger and nicer withh all the bells and whistles! So i bought myself an Aspire nautilus Mini with a Vision Spinner 2. I spent nearly $90 on this rig and today i discovered that both, are fakes... I am sure you can understand my dismay at this situation. I purchased these at a little vape shop in a truck stop, not online. Discovering that there are so many fakes/knock offs out there as made me very untrusting of any sites selling vaping hardware and supplies. Fortunately i was able to purchase a real nautilus mini directly through aspires website. So now i am looking to purchase a new battery but there are so many sites i have no idea where to go to make sure i am not going to get ripped off again. PLEASE HELP! :(

Welcome Dreyvn to ECF. Sorry you got ripped off. There are plenty of good online vendors that are forum suppliers here on ECF. Here's the link for them. Also when buying see if there's a coupon. Hit the coupon button on top of an ECF page. In the search box put the vendor's name and hit enter.

Unfortunately, fakes run rampant in the vaping universe. Many suppliers that don't want to deal with the insane production costs in the united states turn to the chinese for their needs, instead. This is where manufacturers can also keep the exact same logo as the legit manufacturer; Copyright laws are different in their country so they can get away with ripping off the big names. Small corner vape shops buy from these manufacturers and ship in large quantities of items to sell for a low price. The low production cost and legality behind the branding situation make for an easily disguised clone.

Boiled down, what you need to keep in mind is this: Usually, if it's a very cheap "version" of an item you're after, it's probably a clone. Clones are also dangerous in some cases and are more commonly affiliated with shorts and packaging damage.

There are differences between a real and fake product but I don't think it's worth the gap in costs unless you are die-hard in love with it. Beware of clones and decide what you want before you are drawn in by a pitch from some random online vape vendor that decides for you.

Hi Drevyn, I'm also new and just experienced the same experience trying to purchase a Vision Spinner 2 from eBay. I went with this seller (zzgroup) as he was from my state of TX and apparently owned a small shop. His posting title even said it was "Authentic". The battery came in a transparent black box (first sign looking for a fake) and even had an authenticity scratch verification code on it. I opened it up, the spinner wheel actually clicked and didn't spin freely, so I just felt comfortable it was legit (keep in mind I hadn't yet checked the code). Her I am a week later and the button got stuck on me today and I noticed if I shook the battery, I could feel it moving inside. So, did some investigating on the Vision website and finally checked the authenticity code. It said it had been verified 3300 times, which is pretty much a clear indicator... lol. It should be 1 when you check it and will only go up if you continue entering it and checking. Then looked at the inside box a little closer and Vision has a PDF showing the text they use. It's more gold and they say the Vision above is slightly raised. My box has smaller, yellow text and the Vision part definitely isn't raised. Long story short, I shot the seller on eBay a message and he was originally saying I could get a refund or replacement. I told him refund my money and he responded that it sounded like I used the battery (no crap as my original message said the button is starting to stick and the battery inside is now moving around). I told him my main concern was the fact I've now verified it to be fake and he replied saying I should've verified it first. He's a douche and does bad business and I told him all the ways he could verify it himself, which is what I did. He obviously doesn't care and once my 3 days of waiting is up, I'll be escalating to eBay and I'm sure I'll win the case. In the meantime, I did find one from a very reputable source on eBay and it was only 2 bucks more than what I paid. He advertises 100% authentically genuine, has lots of feedback and none about selling fakes. His listing even talks about all the fakes and some ways to spot them (which in my case, my fake actually passed all of the checks he provided). The user is the bargainplug and it should hopefully be here Saturday or early next week latest.

I'm loving vaping and just started in mid July with an itaste clk (haven't touched a dig since Aug 1st). Love that thing and use it mainly when I go out as it's pretty small battery wise. I wanted the Spinner 2 for the increased capacity and even my fake felt so real and vapid pretty well also. However, I just ordered the new Kanger Emow Mega from MistHub as it's one slick looking kit and its getting great reviews. Check it out as it only comes to about 50 bucks with tax and free shipping, for 1600 mah battery, really nice tank and 5 of the new coils. An even better deal than the 50 I paid for my itaste clk kit, for a lot more value. Good luck with finding your Spinner also!
