new to vaping--ordered a ego starter kit from fasttech. mistake?

hello. this is my first post and i am new to the world of vaping. i have been smoking cigs since i was 13, but I figure it's time to cut down. I've tried my friends' e cigs of various types and I like them. I have never really made a serious effort to quit, but lately I have been having a lot more of chest pain and coughing and all the usual effects of smoking. I'm young so I guess it's just now catching up with me.

anyway i'm getting side tracked. I did a little bit of research, maybe not enough, and got really excited because I found a ego starter kit on fast tech for 20 bucks. I bought it, along with some juices. I noticed the holiday thing and I am ok with waiting a while, but I then read some stuff about them not shipping batteries, and packages being held by customs. do you think this will be an issue with what I ordered?
another complication is that right now, I don't really have a perminent living arrangement. I shipped it to a friend's house; will he have to sign for the package?
sorry if this is somewhat incoherent, i didn't get much sleep. thank you

It will probably take at least a month, they are on holiday now.

Batteries are usually OK if they are eGo batteries, not individual loose Li-ion batteries.

I don't buy liquid, due to concerns, but people do and people get away with it.

I'm sure it will get to you.

You should be fine, after a long wait....if you want to try a little sooner there's this from a USA supplier...Katana Kit just add in some e-liquid...

Thanks for the fast replies. The thing is, I already bought it yesterday haha I got too excited. That's good to know, I wasn't sure if the batteries included ego batteries. The only reasons I'm worried about it needing to be signed is that it's in my name, and it won't be me there to retrieve it, and that my friend works during the day and theres a chance nobody will be there to sign it.

Honestly though I'm sure I'll figure it out. I'm just excited. The main thing I was worred about was the batteries. Thank you!

I have received items in 12 days or over a month. They have all arrived in good condition. I got the wrong phone cover once and they refunded me and sent me the correct one.

Here in Canada I have to show photo ID and sign for it. One way around is to sign a letter of permission and give it to your friend authorizing him as the recipient. May work diff in the U.S. though.

Can anyone from the US confirm how this works here?

I should have just put the package in his name now that I think about it. If I don't find out in the next couple weeks, I'll write one just to be safe.

I bought my Mech/RDA from FT and they just left it on my door step. No signature or anything. You may not need to sign for it at all. Not sure if the battery/juice will make a difference to them or not.

good to know. sounds like the biggest issue now is just waiting.
another question-how long does a 900mah battery last? i'm thinking i should have gone with a 1100

900 mah should last a 1/2 a day even for a heavy vaper, two batteries will cover a normal work day easily.

Awesome. I got two batteries (actually, 2 whole units) so I should be set. I'm really all too excited about this. Waiting for online orders sucks. I'll definitely post about it when I finally get it.
I hear all these stories about long time smokers efortlessly quitting once they get a nice e cig. I can't really see myself completely stopping smoking any time soon but who knows. either way I know this wil help.

Hello johnnyhobo118! I've placed about 7-8 orders with fasttech, so I'm far from experienced with them. However I have never had to sign for a package from them. I've shipped by "USPS Express ePacket via China Post" and "USPS First-Class w/DC". Didn't have any issues other than the long shipping time. I'm not sure on their current policy with liquids/batteries, but I believe the ego style battery should be ok. Hopefully all goes well for you!

Welcome johnnyhobo118 to ECF. I have ordered from FT and got my shipment in a bout 2 weeks. I ordered the Vamo from them but decided I couldn't stand the wait time.

I looked online and was able to buy a Vamo for a few more dollars and it shipped immediately. If you ever do buy online look for coupons on ECF ( coupon button on top of forum page ). I also just Google the vendor's name and put in coupon code ( ex. acme coupon code ).

Most of us do learn patience with waiting for vapemail. Glad you are excited on your new adventure into vaping.

I have gotten 15+ orders from them and the postman just leaves it in my mailbox or at the door, never had to sign, but i don't live in a big city with lots of crime or anything. Of course I am stalking him and out to the mailbox before he is to the next house Love Vape Mail.

As long as you don't mind waiting, Fasttech is a good deal for sure.
