Here is a little more advanced option for you:

iTaste MVP (Black)

it's the iTaste MVP v1 kit for ~$35. It comes with the MVP (the mod), an iClear 16 (clearomizer atty to hold your juice), a charging cable (to recharge directly through plug-in), and some free juice.

Bigger than the ones you have been looking at due to the increase of battery size and potential power. These batteries are rechargeable (these ones particularly by a cable) which means you obviously won't need to pick up an entirely new 'pen' to keep vaping, just recharge. Some forum members might disagree on jumping on one of these right away, but I went from a 'pen' or a 'mid-size' battery to an APV within 2 weeks since I needed the ability to control my own parameters and have more battery life.

You might not be interested in one of these now, but down the line, you might wanna look into picking one up. Kit includes everything you need.

You'll find vaping all comes down to user preference, and this site will be more than happy to assist you in your endeavors!

::EDIT:: Whoops, all sold out in all colors. Keep it in the back of your head for future reference. Also, I don't own an MVP, but the reviews and testimonials are very positive. I got my friend to kick cigs with an MVP 2.0 and he's in love with it.

i started with the standard ego kit with ce5 tanks and 950mAh battery. after getting about 5-10 tanks and 4 batteries i got an ego-c twist battery and a protank 2. from there christmas came and so did the vamo and protank 3's. i now have 2 vamo's one thats pressed together, either a v2 or v4, and a v3 that screws together. i love my vamos and protank3's but thats me. my local shop set me up with the vamo PT3 and 3400mAh battery for a little over 100 bucks. but that cause i was a fool and didnt join this forum until last night.

I'm a new vaper myself -- 2 weeks in.

I started with an ego-cc (1000mah ego-c upgrade batt), and quickly got a protank 2 mini v2. I was digging the setup, but wished I had gotten a twist or spinner battery. Shortly thereafter got an itaste vv v3. I would really strongly recommend this...it doesn't have the huge battery life, but does have a passthrough, and micro-usb charing, which is a lot more convenient than ego-style charger, or ego passthrough (mini usb -- much less common these days). Also has variable wattage which is nice (easier to use), even though some say it's not that accurate with its outputs in vw mode.

Can't say enough good things about the protank 2 mini though -- really nice little tank. If you wanted something bigger you could get a protank 2 or aerotank.

I sincerely wish (and urge you) I had started with an itaste vv v3 and protank 2 (either mini or full size; nice thing about the mini is it has ego threading so looks better and feels more secure on smaller batteries). I bought my 6 rivet itaste vv v3 off ebay for $31 shipped. Add about 14 bucks shipped for a protank 2 mini if you like.

If anyone wants to know where I bought it from on ebay, shoot me a PM, but I don't really want to endorse any ebay vendor publicly. For the money I'm confident you can't beat it. The spinners/twists are nice, but not having a passthrough, or vw sucks, and the itaste vv v3 also has an ohm reader (and puff counter if anyone in the universe could possibly care). I really wish I had just started there, because I have a couple ego batteries that will probably get very little use now.

If you're willing to get something a little bigger, I also just got an itaste MVP 2.0 off ebay -- $46 bucks shipped, comes with either an iclear 30, or 2 iclear 16's -- has passthrough and also can charge your cellphone, etc. Also has the vv, vw, ohm reader, puff counter, beauty ring, and a 2600mah battery -- since my 800mah itaste vv3 usually lasts me all, or almost all day, this thing should keep ANYONE vaping for 24-48 hours without issue. Really loving it right now. This things comes with EVERYTHING you need to start, and would help avoid the pitfall I found myself in, which is upgrading within 1 week, and having devices that will probably collect a lot of dust.

Also if anyone is looking for a 1000mah ego-c upgrade battery shoot me a PM lol.

Cool.... Thanks for the info... Will look into that one as well.... Good info

I'm new here and also to vaping. Bought a Kanger Evod starter kit at my local vape shop 1 week ago today. I had done no research and had never tried the disposable ecigs. I told them that I was looking to quit regular smokes and only smoked menthol. They told me the Evod was the place to start and then let me sample 4 or 5 of the menthol flavored they stock of which I liked the Halo Sub Zero and mystic menthol the best. I'm sure there are better set ups out there, but as a total noob to vaping, for me this Evod has been great. It is easy to operate and in my limited experience creates a great vapor.
I'm sure all of the answers you have received are correct in the fact that vaping is awesome and while it has only been one week, it has made quitting cigarettes extremely easy for me so far. I have tried to smoke 3 times in the last week, even after a few cocktails and it no longer tastes good.... The vape tastes better and still gives your nicotine. Only thing I have run into is it is pretty strong, you can certainly get a lot of nicotine if you start really puffing on some delicious juice.

like a previous poster said, we all probably wish we started where we are now. that being said, I think you have to know if it is going to work for you before you will want to spend big bucks. IMO buy one battery, one tank, 10ml of a juice you like and a charger. If you can go two days without a smoke, then go drop some cash on a good set-up. I had one of each (except juice) for 2 weeks when i started. I now have 2 batteries and the same protank 2 mini. I just ordered a provari and a tank from IBtanked. I have been vaping for 2.5 months. i know that it will work for me so i went ahead and dropped some cash. I hope it works for you!

Started doing some research to see if I can get a better deal and was amazed at how many models and brands are on the market. Didn't even know how popular this stuff was.. Bought one of this lil disposable types years ago and it didn't do anything for me.

I would like to know what is a good starter kit for a decent price?

Would appreciate any feedback on a good starter kit...
I hear some leak and a bunch of other stuff so would like to make the right choice starting out...:D

this is one great kit, teaches you the basics, dependable, complete, & cheap
then when you're ready to step it up a notch, it turns into a wonderful back up set
- Kanger Evod Starter Kit

then if/when the time comes, you might wanna look in this direction
- Vision Spinner 1300mAh battery
- Kanger Mini Protank 2 Clearomizer

good luck :)

Thanks for the info.... I as well only smoke menthol cigs, when from full Kool (Green) to Kool Milds (Blue) so I will definitely be looking for something (juice wise) to aid that... Those lil disposable ones just doesn't do anything... A lot of cool advice I'm getting so will continue taking in cause I plan on making up my mind on the model and ordering tomorrow... I like the advanced ones but don't know if I will be fully ready with those to start with...

Cool.. Thanks for the advice... I think the Kanger EVOD starter is the one I more leaning towards.. I was thinking the same thing that if this works for me and I get the hang of all this, this will be good to have as extras and backups while I move to the more advance stuff.... Was checking a post on some of the photos of the devices some have and I'm like impressed... Hope this works
