Hey everyone,

My name is Matt, hailing from Ottawa, ON. I gave up smoking this week, but have been doing a mix of vaping and smoking for the last 2 weeks. I've finally found some flavours I'm happy with, and have made an effort not to smoke anymore. I'm at the 12-18 mg doses of nicotine, hoping to cut down soon. My favorite flavours are RY4, Pomegranate, and Redbull.

hey matt, best of luck too you especially with the cutting of the nic level, just remember try taking small steps like 2mg at a time and pace yourself.... i have seen people completely off of nic but i for one am not that kind of person. i started at 8mg hoping the lower nic would make it easier, but before long i found myself needing to go up in nic, found my happy spot at 16/18- 24 mg for various parts of the day

Hi, Matt. Congratulations on quitting! Bigger congratulations for making the transition to vaping! :)

Now here's where I tell you no lies:

You're not free from tobacco's hold on you yet. That will take another 2-4 weeks at least. Your brain will try to play tricks on you. You'll be tempted to light one up "for old time's sake." Or you'll start thinking that (for whatever reason) you need a bigger hit - just today, just this once. Something little like that, but it'll take a nagging little corner up in your mind. For me, that didn't START until I was almost a month into it.

Don't sweat it. We all went through it. It won't be a constant urge or pang. It won't be that awful withdrawal you're likely familiar with if you ever tried to quit before. Just a mild little thought. Vape away and ignore it. It will pass soon enough.

Then something magical will happen: you'll pass by a smoker who's not even smoking, and he'll REEK. Or someone will smoke near you and it will repulse you. You'll realize you enjoy vaping FAR more than you ever enjoyed smoking. You'll wonder "did I smell that awful?" (Yes. Yes you did)

And then you'll be free. :)

Edited to add: If you truly want to ween yourself off nicotine, more power to you, just do it slowly. I don't ever plan to stop using nicotine, but that's my choice.

Yeah, the whole reason I had done a mix between vaping and smoking was "for old time's sakes". Not only did I smell horrible, but it was worse trying to explain I wanted to take a break to go and smoke. I've been an off and on smoker for the better part of two years. Needless to say I've been without a cigarette since this Thursday, and got more juice as a result. I have enough to last me over 2 months (easily) before I should top up.

Now I just puff away almost wherever I am, and it's great. I'm using an eGo-c right now, but I'm experiencing some problems with one of my batteries. It changes from being a variable voltage to a standard eGo battery. I know it has something to do with the way the I'm cleaning it (q-tip, and tissue to get liquid out).
