Hi guys,

Just got hooked up with two PV set ups. Loving them. I tried blu cigs and premium e cigs before and didn't like them at all. Tasted horrible and made me sick. I found a new shop in Baton Rouge last week called Smokecignals. They got me hooked up with some evod tanks and ego-ctwist batteries. So far I'm 5 days smoke free which is the best I've done in 7 years. Glad to be on board.

Welcome to ECF. I'm pretty new as well. Been 5 weeks vaping for me, but posted first post here today. Don't be afraid to ask any questions you have. You'll find the majority of the community are more then accepting and love to help out newbs like us. Almost any question you have can be found here, just use the search feature at the top. Also, like most new to the community, you may find this all a bit overwhelming. Don't sweat it. Before long the lingo will be old hat and you'll find yourself trying out new things based from tips and tricks you'll find along the way.

Youtube is another great resource. PBusardo, VapinGreek, GrimmGreen, RipTripper, and Vape Girl are a few of my favs, but there are many more out there. Someone here I'm sure can point to places I have yet to discover.

5 days here, too, and I'm in love! Welcome to the DayFive Club. :)

How did you decide to try vaping? I'm kicking myself hard that I didn't check it out earlier, the first time I saw a friend with a PV (a couple of years ago). But he's the only person I know in real life who vapes, and he doesn't live in the same city, so I sort of forgot about it... and also, it didn't help that the one time I tried a couple puffs from his rig, he was vaping some sort of apple/menthol mixture (not my taste preference) at super-low or no nicotine, so I thought it wasn't something that was likely to be an alternative for me. I was so wrong about that.

However, after running into some posts about vaping on a general message board recently, I decided I wanted to give it a shot, so my husband got me (us, really, since he's joining in) an Ego set-up for the New Year, and the guy who has the shop was great about advising him on the starter kit, and picking two e-liquids to begin with, a menthol I'm not terribly fond of, and a sweet, round, tobacco flavor that's all kinds of nice. Going back to try some new flavors tomorrow!

actually I tried ecigs before to no avail but I found a shop one day in town and walked in. next thing I know they set me up and I was ready to drop the analogs. It's still tough in the mornings with my coffee but I love being able to vape all day at work. Plus my fiance is ecstatic that I don't taste/ smell like smoke anymore.

Yeah, as a newb, I do think it's helpful to either have an experienced person help you out, or be lucky enough to find a good, trustworthy shop where they can guide you toward a not-too-expensive, yet pretty high quality starter option (or read and ask for help on a nice board like this one -- but I'm guessing most people find their way here after already sticking their toe in).

If I had started with any of the lower end ecigs I would have likely picked out on my own as a completely uneducated user (as opposed to only mostly uneducated, as I am now!), I don't think I would have had much success with it, even for the few days I've been vaping. We called our one friend who vapes, and he directed us to the shop he uses when he's in town, and that was a good call.
