Hello all, first of and I am trying to quit smoking and to do that I started vaping, so far so good. I have gone down to 1-2 cigarettes a day (sometimes more when I work) but I believe it is a good start and step to quitting.

However after I started vaping I realized it is a whole other world and a lot to it! and had a couple questions which I just can't seem to figure out. I researched all different types of vape pens etc before I purchased mine and went with the ego c twist battery and the kanger T3S tank. so far so good but now I have a couple questions on maintenance and things like that.

I dont know if I am just oblivious but which part is the atomizer? I purchased a extra 5 pack of coils with my Kanger tank to replace when the coils burn out but after looking at videos people keep cleaning the atomizer and I can't seem to find it on mine, is it the same as the coil?

Second, can you wash the whole Kanger T3S tank including coil? I just emptied out my tank since it was empty and washed out the main part of the tank but I didnt wash the bottom part that holds the coil because it has the wick and such wasnt sure if it was ok to wash.

Hi Spike and welcome to ECF. Glad you joined. I use Kanger MT3S clearos and the coil is the thing that needs to be cleaned/replaced. I clean the coil every few days or every few tank fulls by spraying the coil with an eco friendly cleaner called Whip It. I let it set for a few minutes and boil water in a small container in the microwave. I rinse the coil, then drop it in the boiled water and let it soak. After about 20 min or so, I rinse it one last time and let it dry for a day or two.

The coil is the thing with the flavor wicks that you see (running horizontal) and the coil itself is underneath the flavor wicks. There are videos on youtube about cleaning and dry burning. It is more than okay to wash it, it is part of the maintenance. I look forward to it and clean my coils in batches of 3 or 4 at a time.

Hope this helps. You will find ECF and the folks here to be friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. We are all in this together.

Congrats on cutting back on analogs and, should you choose, vaping can completely replace analogs. There are a bunch of us that have done it. But even if you continue to smoke 1 or 2 a day, that is quite an accomplishment. Count the ones you don't smoke, not the ones you do. Every step you take is beneficial.

Keep the vape and namaste.

It is ok. I take mine completely apart and put all the pieces in hot water for a little while including the coil. If it is nasty, I even add a drop of dish washing liquid. I put all the tank pieces in a glass, fill it with hot water and let it soak for about 30-45 minutes. I then run some more hot water over the parts to flush out the crud. I place them on a paper towel and let them sit for a little while. Just remember that you can't do this with the battery. I shake out any excess water and use a Q-tip to make sure the nooks and crannies are cleaned out real well and put it back together. Fill up the tank and there you go. If you have a juice that is heavy on flavor and don't have a clean coil just drop it in Vodka and it should clean it out. I found that peppermint (or any mint for that matter) and cinnamon are nearly impossible to get out. This is why having a few tanks for different flavor sis a good practice. Then it becomes just maintenance and not trying to get a flavor out in order to change. I hope this helps. Good luck and VAPE ON!:headbang:

Hi and welcome aboard.

The atomiser is the top part or in this case. The bottom part the battery. The entire top unit would be called a clearomiser - a clear tank unit which houses e-liquid. the actual atomiser with the coil screws into the bottom base (the part you unscrew to fill your tank). It is these atomiser heads that you will replace by unscrewing and screwing a new one in (when you do this drop a few drop of juice on the tiny bits of wick on each side to prime it a bit..

The reason you may not be able to see the coil in yours is that the atomiser head (replaceable part) breaks down even further - the shaft part at the top with the grooves/ribbing/gnarling actually will come off and you can then see your coil inside.

You can wash the entire unit - but you do want to pat dry and leave to dry before screwing back in and firing the unit back up. If you are changing juices it is good to give it a wash out as well to remove the old flavour. That is why it is great to have more than one clearomisers or tanks, so you always have a backup or spare.

You are on your way. enjoy

Thank you for all the answers guys! very helpful and glad to be apart of these forums, to learn more about vaping so far I am loving it. Ordered some juice from Mt baker vapor they had good prices and people seem to like there e juice but some say they dont have as much flavor as others (i got 2 shots in mine)

How often do you guys change your coils? Person in the store said I should change it about every week. I ordered another T3S tank too so I can have different flavors in them and will eventually get more

Welcome to the world of vaping. Looks like you have a good start. I like Mt Baker Vapor and just ordered some juices from them. I'm pretty new, and my taste buds are still sort of trashed, I think. But I've really liked the flavors I got from them. I got Cinnamon Roll, as is, with no shots, and it's my current favorite. They have great prices and ship quickly.

They do have fast shipping but i think USPS is messing up. Said today was expected delivery date but it hasnt moved since last night. I am just getting very anxious to try it. I am hoping it comes tomorrow before I go to work.

EDIT: I tried this other flavor my gf had (coffee latte) tasted like crap poured it out put mine back in and tasted like that still so i washed it again put my coil in hot water and put a new coil in and tastes just like my flavor. Just curious how long do coils last? they said a week but i feel like they should last longer but then again i am a newb lol
