Hi. I am very new to vaping, it all happened kind of suddenly. I came down with bronchitis, and doc told me to quit smoking (this was four days ago). I hated the way my chest and throat felt, not to mention constantly chewing gum to try to hide the stench. I went to the liquor store and bought an e-cig, v2 I think. Well, I went through two of them in 24 hrs, but did not have a single tobacco cigarette. Went through two more from blu the next day, and it definitely was not cheaper than tobacco cigarettes if I kept going at this rate. Today, I invested in a tank system, and some e juice. So far, so good, and I get a much better vapor it seems. My husband still smokes tabacco cigarettes, but so far, haven't had a craving for one. Hopefully we can both eventually switch over:laugh:

Welcome, tjrod2013! You've certainly come to the right place if you're looking for the very best knowledgebase of information on vaping. I'm new too - still using Halo G6 "cigalikes", but many people who know a lot more than I do will likely recommend some really good mods you might want to try. Over the past few years, vaping has quickly become a virtual wonderland of options. Read through the forums here and you'll know what I mean.

Hope you feel better soon, and congrats on vaping instead of smoking!

You have made a great choice and you are so worth it . You may have trying times especially when your husband still smokes but you can do it and you will be so proud of yourself. My husband still smokes and sometimes I think it smell soooo bad and how gross and other times I have to leave the room because it smells way to good . Resist those urges , you won't regret it.

Thanks so much for the support guys. So my husband was asking me all kinds of questions last night about vaping, and I tried my best to answer, but the convo ended with him trying a puff of my chocolate flavored e liquid. I couldn't quite explain the technique to him, as it took me two days to figure out that vaping has its own technique, much different from smoking. Anyway, he disliked the chocolate, he doesn't really like sweet stuff. I used to smoke Newports, and I really like the taste of Blu menthol disposables. Thinking of having hubby try that, and then take him to the vape shop and getting him setup with a little ego kit or something, letting him pick out his own flavors of ejuice

Congratulations on the beginning of your vape journey, and welcome! :toast:

I think you're plan for your husband sounds like a great start. I'm not a big fan of sweets either, but I've found that the fruit flavors are a great substitute for the tobacco flavors (which I didn't like very much). If you have B&M shops nearby, it's absolutely worth a try to sit at the sample bar for an hour or two and have him (and you) find flavors that you both like. Once you've both found the flavor profile that works for you, then you can try some of the many online resources for e-liquid and save even more money.

Seems like the general consensus is that I can get the best deals online? I am really digging on how personal the whole vaping experience is for each individual. So, for now, I have a vape pen that I picked up with a couple clearomizers. However, I am quickly learning that the right equipment can make the experience even better, but I am in no way a techie, and easily get confused by al the brands and vaporizers on the market. I have been noticing that kanger seems to be a popular brand, and am interested in something with a variable voltage. Also seen some really crazy looking ones with digital screens, but am kind of intimidated by them. I have a few bucks to spend on getting a nice setup for home use (the pen I have works great for travel and in the car, but I don't want to burn it out too quickly by using it when I spend all day at home). What did you guys upgrade to once you got comfortable with the pen?

Rather than post a bunch of information in your thread, I'll point you to a member blog (Baditude) where most of your questions can be answered in easy to digest articles:

E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs

Start with this one, that explains the different types of delivery systems, but also take the time to read through his posts on advanced mods and batteries.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-carto-tank-what-guide-juice-attachments.html

Most of us have started out confused about the options, but in no time at all I believe you'll find it's not as daunting as you might think. :)

Congrats on making the switch to vaping!

I started off with an E-Go style pen kit, but once I got used to that (and realized that I needed a little more oomph!), I made the switch to a Lavatube VV. However, that was 2 years ago when I first started vaping alongside light smoking, and that Lavatube fell apart and died with 6 weeks. In fact, I went through 2 more Lavatubes before I got one that worked for more than 5 or 6 weeks, and I'm still not a fan of them today!

You can still use a pen style battery that has VV - like the iTaste VV, if you like how small and compact those are, or you can jump up to the larger VV/VW devices like the Vamo (I've heard these are great, but don't know from experience), or Provari (a little pricier, but people swear by these, and they really very nice devices). If you prefer a box-style device, you can check out the iTaste MVP2, or the iTaste VTR (which is what I use, but some people don't like the weight - it's kind of a beast!). It all depends on what style you like, how much you're looking to spend and all that jazz. If you check out the Forums, you'll find all sorts of info on pretty much any device you can think of! I also like to check out device reviews on Youtube. PBusardo and TheVapingGreek are 2 guys I love to watch and they haven't steered me wrong yet. :)

TJ, welcome aboard and congrats on the quit.

I have found that, no doubt, your best deals are online. Just a quick word of caution though...there are some websites, notably fasttech.com, that are located in China and can take several weeks to get your order.

Equipment certainly does make a difference, just like with anything. For a good beginner device, the Innokin MVP2 is quite popular. It has lots of the high end type features, but is a simple to use device. You won't need to worry about buying the proper batteries, which is a whole other topic. And it can charge using a regular old microusb cable, like the ones for phones. I am pretty new to all this myself and just bought one. Should be in today!

Your husband should make his own login here and begin reading/asking. This site contains an enormous wealth of knowledge and the folks are super helpful.
