New to vaping

I have contemplated quitting smoking for several weeks now, and I came to this forum as a guest to see what people said about vaping to quit smoking. It really encouraged me, so 2 days ago, I purchased my 1st e-cig. It was late afternoon that I made my purchase, and only smoked 4 analogs that night. The next day, I did smoke 10 analogs, which is about half of what I would normally have smoked. Today, I have smoked 4 analogs all day to this point.

Thank you for the encouragement! I have been smoking off and on for 39 years. I quit a couple of times, but always went back. Before buying my ecig, I came to this forum, and did research online, before going to my first vape store. I was very fortunate to find one where the employees are extremely friendly, patient, and know their stuff. I decided I would smoke analogs while adjusting to vaping. I have found that vaping does really curb my cravings.

Hi Annie Glad to hear your making the change. The 1st few days can be tough, but I found that ounce my lungs adjusted to the vapour (about day 3 or 4) and I no longer had the urge to cough when I took a vape, it became easy to quit smoking.
Ive not had one since.
Also finding a decent flavour is really important to keep you off the cigs. When you can say ''this actually taste better than smoking'' then things become easy.

anniegurl, glad to hear you're working to lay down the analogs. Keep up the great work!

It's not uncommon during the first few days/weeks for some to do both, I did myself for a few days. But I didn't buy anymore analogs, just finished the last half pack that I had open & gave my brother-in-law the last unopened one.

I was a 37 year smoker, but had it not been for the two times that I had quit for over a year, it would have been over 39 years. Vaping is the only thing that compelled me to dislike analogs altogether.

The ECF community is here for you!

I smoked for 37 years myself, at least 1.5 packs a day. I quit analogs the same day as my vape stuff was delivered by mail. However, the second week in, I had this severe urge to smoke an analog. I cut the crave with an e-juice commonly sold everywhere, called RY4. It didn't taste that much like smoking, it helped though. After the RY4, I haven't tried any other tobacco flavors, until recently. I found some good tobacco flavors @ Heather's Heavenly Vapes, where I get my ADV (all day vape) from.

Welcome.

You will find lots hear who have been so elated to finally get rid of the ashtray they want to help other people get started too.

ecigs are a booming business, so before you decide to spend on anything big, good place to check first is right here.

So what setup did you get and what was the name of that place you found so helpful;

I got a pro 3 tank, an evod 1000 battery, and currently vaping tobacco flavor. I plan to go tomorrow to try different flavors. The place I go is right down the street from me, Vapor Burst. The people there are extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

I use protanks myself, but I put them on the bases from the miniprotank so I get the solid eGo threading instead of the wobbly 510 thread.

Look like they got you set-up with an ideal starter kit there. Should keep you happy for a while.
I used a protank2 mini on an eGo , Until I wanted more life battery life to get me through the whole day.

People are very friendly on this forum, so much so , that I come here instead of my native U.K. forum, and most will give sound advice if you need it in the future.

Good luck with the change-over, Anniegurl. Someone mentioned RY4. It has a mellow flavor with an anise finish. Very satisfying. When I started vaping I only wanted tobacco flavors thinking that sweet flavors wouldn't be satisfying. I was so wrong. Some of the dessert flavors are very enjoyable at the end of a meal. Replaces the desire for a smoke and it is sort of like, well, dessert. Don't hesitate to taste a variety of flavors at your local vape shop. It is my experience that most shop owners are pretty patient with noobs. My husband only does one flavor. I have found that different flavors satisfy my different moods. Good luck!

it is working so well for me that I just bought my mom her first ego style starter kit with a couple iClear 16 tanks for mothers day. And now my brother wants to try it. If you stay in the right state of mind it will work wonders. I have now been analog free for one month tomorrow. It has completely changed my life. Keep up the great work.
