Hi, does vaping really helps in quitting ciggrettes

2 pack a day smoker for 20 years. The very same day I started vaping I quit smoking with no intention of even quitting in the first place and I like smoking so it surprised me that it worked so well. So that would be a big YES it does help quit cigarettes. I have not touched one since and don't plan to. I have noticed improved health benefits like: breathing better, sense of smell and taste returned, more energy and sleeping better. I'm sure there is more but can't think of anymore from the top of my head at the moment.

Of course there is always the added benefits of: my house, car, clothes smell better, no ashtrays, no burns etc..

Welcome to ECF :)

Hello and WELCOME to the place where all the answers await you!!

Simply put, I never planned on quitting but once I tried an e cig I preferred it and just stopped smoking stinky burnt tobacco! As to health, well lets see...the jury is still out but compared to smoking it has to be 95-99% safer. Some report allergy's with PG in which case you use VG instead.

Good Luck to ya

I just started vaping and I'm smoking about 1/4 to 1/6 the number of cigarettes I smoked before so it's really helping me too. My goal is to quit smoking entirely of course. I used to smoke about 3 packs a day for over 40 years.

I just ordered my second mod so that I won't be without my vapor while one is charging. :)

Way to go:D Keep it up, you will make it to quit them stinkies altogether and be a happy camper soon enough. Better and more equipment will keep your mind occupied aswell:toast:

That's a bit of a broad question, and it ultimately depends on the person. Some folks just never quite take to vaping. I smoked for 20+ years and quit the first day I vaped. It really varies. The best I can suggest (not necessarily to you, but to anyone reading and considering vaping as an alternative) is to get a cheap ego setup from your local vaping outlet (usually $15 or so), buy a little juice that sounds interesting, and give it a go. If it works, great!

I smoked for years, but then switched to dipping. I LOVED smokeless tobacco, I got to the point where I didn't even need to spit. Heck, I've fallen asleep with a lip full of tobacco more than once. I had vaped years ago and knew I liked it, but didn't realize how much it had changed in the past couple years. I decided to give it another go and have not dipped since! No B.S. when I left the shop (bought an Istick 30), there was half a can of tobacco in my car, I never once opened it. Seriously, from the second I got my mod, I was tobacco free (YMMV).

To me, vaping is all the "cool" things about smoking but without the hot/dry crappy feeling in your throat, without the stench that permeates your clothes, without the yellowing teeth, and without the (same level of) health risks.

The best part: what other form of nicotine habit is also a hobby?!?! I mean sure, a smoker can have a cool lighter or a case for their cigs, but it is not even on the same level as this. Vaping, for me, is a cross between a habit and a hobby.... kind of a "Habby" :D

Hi, does vaping really helps in quitting ciggrettes and is there any adverse health effects it has on you? If you could share your personal experiences that would be great

Vaping was the only way that I was successful in quitting cigarettes. I had tried the gum, patches, prescription drugs, and hypnosis...all failed.

Not only does vaping supply the nicotine the body craves like from cigarettes, it also simulates the "hand to mouth" behavior and inhalation/exhalation behaviors of smoking.

I have had no side effects from vaping, and the side effects of long term smoking (over 35 years) have disappeared. I will be 3 years smoke-free next month.

The Notorious, there is a search box at the top right corner of every page. It is keyword operated. PG and VG are the base ingredients in vape liquid. Propylene Glycol, Vegetble Glycerin. Good luck, don't be shy and ask any questions you need clarity on.

Thanks for sharing that! :) sure there's plenty of questions in the back of my mind now on vaping. I'm learning more and more on that everyday
