hey guys, I was reading some things and I saw that using a vape at a high wattage can cause formaldehyde ten times high than cigs. Is this true? I have a rx200 with a aspire cleito tank, but what is the best wattage to have it on? Also volts. I quit smoking cigs and I love vaping so it would be a shame if it was just as bad as smoking cigs. I know it is not good for you but it is harm reduction. I was just wondering. Want some more information on vaping vs analogs also.

When I started vaping 18 months ago, the Stone Age of vaping, my Nautilus mini had a 1.8 ohm coil that I fired at 8 watts and it seemed like a good experience but may be I was fooling myself. In just 18 months the human species has evolved to where beginners need .3 ohm coils and 80 watts?

Something that hasn't changed in the last 18 months is the human olfactory. If you incinerate the liquid it will taste awful, you'll want to gag. That's when the nasty chemicals are produced. You won't be able to vape that. The reason we taste things is so we don't ingest stuff that's not good for us. But there are trace amounts of all sorts of things in every breath we take. The scientists I trust believe that vaping is far lower risk than smoking. How much lower is something you can investigate. This forum is a good place to do that.

From what I recall reading that formaldehyde thing was just another bogus flawed study. They created some amount formaldehyde alright but at power and temps that no human being could possibly bear to vape. Just another gooberment financed hoax!
Yep I think it was an old clear miser at 25 watts or something, which was completely burning all the wicking material

all the studies I've read about have all been debunked as they pushed things way above what anyone would do. Unless you are burning something (usually the wick), there's nothing that's been found as harmful. Sadly, vaping is going through a serious witch hunt because of the money that's being lost in sales and taxes. Even sadder is that many will believe whatever negative press is online when it comes to vaping, regardless of it being false.
