New to Vaping

Hello,

After doing a lot of research and talking to some people now, I have decided to start vaping and get rid of analogs all together. I was wondering what the status is on customs if I order from out of the US. Are shipments still coming through? Or is it a hit or miss?

Also, as I am new to this, if anyone has any suggestions for me it would be much appreciated. As of now, I am a menthol smoker and want to start to vaping a menthol liquid.

Yep!! Warped, Shippments com'n into the States from China seem to be not a problem, It more has to do with how long er will'n to wait fer'em! IMO there are juts to many good suppliers Stateside who ship fast, have good prices,and will stand behind their good. Plus I believe we need to support them!! First, welcome to the ECF! Ask lots of questions, and PLEASE read the "Sticky" posts at the top of the New Members Forum. Anyone that makes money from the sale of e-cigs or supplies is NOT allowed to post in the New Members Forum, so you can trust that what you read here is at least intended to be helpful!

My experience ordering from overseas is limited, so I can't speak to that subject directly. I'm not aware of any major difficulties with customs. However, if you consider shipping costs and the time it takes to receive your goodies, it seems to me that ordering from outside the US makes more sense for large orders or items not available here.

Lots of good "Registered Suppliers" here, a lot of reviews here, and just wait a bit and you'll get a lot of suggestions right here in this thread. The most popular models with ECF members are the 510 and KR8.

Hi there Warped. Welcome to ECF and congrats on your decision to give it a whirl. It's not a small shipment that's a problem from China. It's when you order tons of stuff coming to you -- like hundreds. At least that's what I've read from other reviews. And you've come to the right place for questions, the members here are really helpful. Well, they're all just super. If you don't know what to vape with, if you want to try it out, you can get into it cheaper by ordering what is called a starter pack. I wouldn't order from china though. yes, they're cheaper, but the postage is quite a bit more (i've heard around $16). Also, it takes about 15 days to get to you. so if something is DOA and needs to be replaced, there's another 15 days. you could order the most popular e-cig, the Joye510, from cignot.com and get two full e-cigs, 5 prefilled cartridges and an AC charger for $35 plus $5 shipping. i got my order in 3 days shipped from illinois to calif. and if you have any questions, they're right there within a few minutes to E you back. but above all, remember to order eJuice w/your starter pack. cignot has little 3 and 4.5ml samplers. also read your instruction manual and be sure to charge your batteries the exact way they say too -- no matter how much of a hurry you're in to start vaping. and don't forget to blow the primer off your atty before you take that first pull or you'll be bummin from the yukko taste. as for the menthol, scroll down to the very very bottom of the page and the last line on the left bottom is a search box. type in the words "best menthol", and you'll get tons of reviews from menthol smokers of where to order from. hope this helps some. i'm still a noob too. happy vaping.

The most advertised on the forum is the 510 as a starter ecig. I wish I had done what you are doing before I started vaping. I wasted a lot of money before I found the 510. You can get starter kits cheap in the USA. Be sure to get extra atomzers and liquid when you order. Good luck.

Ok, I think I have figured out that I would want to start off with the tornado kit with some extra attys. As far as liquid goes, I have seen a lot of positive feedback on liquids from Tasty Vapor. Does anyone happen to know if they offer any kind of samplers maybe 5-10ml bottles as I don't want to be stuck with a 30ml bottle that I absolutely hate. Also, I see that they mix PG and VG if you want, any suggestions on that?

Now, I do understand that I may not like it at first as my taste would be getting better over time, but I would rather just get a few small samples to try out.

Tasty Vapor does not offer sample sizes since all of their liquid is made when ordered. I do know that the people on the Tasty Vapor forum are really nice and might offer to send you a sample of menthol they have ordered.

Many of the other vendors do offer sample packs so you can try a bunch of flavors. You will find that nearly all of the vendors on the ECF forum are great people and believe in customer service.

One of my favorites is My Freedom Smokes. I make my own liquid and buy my unflavored nicotine from them so I know the quality of their base product.

Ok, so I just placed my orders...

I ordered a tornado kit that includes two batteries and two atomizers.

I also ordered 2 extra atomizers and some blank cartridges from another site.

As far as liquid goes, I ordered from a couple sites menthol from one. Then I decided to get some unique flavors from Tasty Vapor (butter rum, atomic cinnacide, cafe mocha, and apple pie) to see if any of those would taste good to me. I will probably try them at first and if I don't like them, I will start with the other menthol I ordered and come back to it later when my taste gets better.

I figured the cost that I pay a month on analogs to be about 200. So I figure if I can get used to vaping, I should be breaking even in about a month. I payed just under 190 for everything including shipping.

Anyways, as I have ordered the Tornado, I was wondering if anyone knew about how long I should charge it the first time initially. Should I just let it charge until it turns green, or let it sit longer?

From what I read, it comes with a standard 510 charger, so with the tornado it seems it takes people 5-6 hours on subsequent charges.

It looks like most of my stuff has already been shipped from the sellers! Amazing, I figured it would take a bit longer. Eh, guess I will have to start stalking the mail person soon. Haha!

Any time something you're charging turns green, it's time to go! I have the Ego, not the Tornado, but it only takes around an hour to charge.

Glad to hear you're going to give A.C. a spin, you won't be sorry!! Just prepare yourself for an INTENSE flavor and you'll be in HEAVEN! And, for some reason, it seems to be a very JUICY vape. I'm not sure how else to describe it, but it kinda feels like there's actually liquid going in your mouth when you're vaping it!

The first time I tried it, I was ready to spit it back out, thinking I'd just gotten a mouthful of juice, but NOPE!! That's just the way it FEELS.

Yeah I was a heavy menthol smoker and went with Tobacco Menthol from Tasty Vapor, haven't smoked an analog since I've received my eGo. A friend of mine who also smoked same brand of analogs I did went with the Cinnacide and swears by it. Either way I think you'll be pleased, and also that Wonderful World of Vaping link that Quasi provided is a great source to beginners. Curious how your flavors pan out for you being you were a menthol smoker. I have cafe macciato(if im spelling it right) Rad bull, German Choclate Cake, and Cinnacide, and I can't stop vaping the Tobacco Menthol. Best of luck to ya' and hope you enjoy your juices from TV they are highly spoken of.

So, I got the tornado and some menthol NUport on Thursday. I originally tried the tobacco (med) that came with the tornado and couldn't really taste much. The high one had more taste but not really there for me. So I decided to try the NUport and could at least taste it, but it still didn't quite do it for me. I am figuring it is just my taste being off from smoking analogs for so long. I did have some massive throat hit from the menthol though. I kept on vaping the menthol though.

So anyways, I got my tasty vapor stuff in today. Simply amazing, I do not know how Geoff does it! I so far tried Apple Pie, Atomic Cinnacide, and Cafe Mocha. Even with my taste not fully back as I have only been off analogs for 2 days, its still very flavorful. So far this AC is really doing it for me!

I was so amazed that I just ordered two of their items that they have on special through next friday (Tasty Finger and Mint Chocolate Chip). I also ordered a mix of just menthol, so I will see how those are. I think I am going to be stocked up for a while. LOL.

I will come back to the NUport in a week or two and see how it is then once my taste starts coming back. Hopefully its just my taste not fully back yet.

As far as withdrawal symptoms from the analogs, I am having some, but not nearly as much as when I have tried cold turkey before. My symptoms are I guess you could say, minor hot flashes, some headaches, and overall cravings for an analog. These symptoms are an overall improvement over when I have tried cold turkey in the past. The symptoms are getting less and less frequent, so that is good.

Hi warped3k....nice choices there! TV is a great juice for starters. I've heard alot of people love the Bananas Foster....one I still need to try. One thing is for sure....buy yourself a bunch of extra little empty bottles so you can trade samples. And if you end up getting tired of a flavor or don't like it...I doubt you will have any problem trading it or selling it on the forum.

I like Halo. They have several different menthols and some are more menthol..some more minty. If you write to them they will be happy to help you pick the right flavor.

I have no idea what the prevelance of this symptom is but since it happened to both me and my husband I thought I would mention it. IF it happens don't get discouraged because it goes away completely. We both had no problem switching without ever looking back....but after 2-3 months of vaping we both noticed that we still occaisionally had an overwhelming desire to smoke...even if we were vaping right that minute. Neither of us ever caved in as it was such a fleating thing...lasts a couple seconds and then gone. But would happen several times a day. I don't know but my feeling was it had more to do with "triggers" like after a meal,stress, whatever your personal trigger to want an analog might be. But like I said...for us it went away and just telling each other about it helped alot.

I forgot to mention....several vendors have really nice disposable kit's for $10. You get a 510 battery,atty,charger and a few cartridges. Great way to at least try the product and see if you like it. I got mine from Vapor Kings but also Mad Vapes and I think Ikenvape sells them. The taste of the cartridges is nothing to cheer about but it wasn't bad.

Also...Vapor Station had some really nice starter kits,510,901,and the Totem and great juices. They have a coupon code VSfangirl or VSfanboy gets you 5% off.

I'm sure I may get some crap for this. I've used a 4081 (smoking everywhere/smoke 51) workes good, a joye 501 works good but believe it or not I like my blu! and their head quarters are in Charlotte, NC!!

You'll read some bad suff and some good stuff about the blu. Most of the bad is customer service related because back in the day they could'nt keep up with the supply and demand. thats all good now and most orders are recieved with in 3 days.

I like the size of it, the atomizers are great and the PCC works great.

From what I have heard, the only shipments that have been seized from over seas are large shipments of e-liquid.

Not too long ago I received 40 attys from China with no problem.
