If you have what I think you do, which is a standard eGo tank, the problem is likely one of wick adjustment. If the wick is too high it will not wick the liquid down to the coil and give dry/burnt hits. This shouldn't be a problem with a brand new atty, but it's not at all impossible. I've seen a couple that way.

Do a youtube search for eGo-T wick adjust. Cignot has a good video on it. I'd hate to give advice not knowing for sure that you have what I think you have... With that said, you might want to pull the cartridge off, and use a bent paperclip to push the wick down JUST A LITTLE. you should see it inside the spike with the tank removed. Remember, it's much easier to push down than pull up.

I love the eGo-T tanks/attys, but they definitely take a little extra care. I adjust the wick in the one I'm using about once a week, and find they last about a month. Even with the extra attention involved, I find it's the best way to vape short of dripping, which usually isn't an option for me... Though, just like everything else in this realm, many will disagree! It takes a while to find that sweet spot that works for you...

I had similar issues with mine... The pattern I noticed was the more VG there was in a given liquid, the harder it seemed for the atty to wick properly. I have been using mine with mostly PG juices and that seems better, also the Low resistance version seems to work better for some reason.

I might try fiddling around with the wick, but I doubt I will get another ego-t atomizer anytime soon... I just got a J-Tank from electronicstix and I am in LOVE!

Many of them do taste bad at first.. But I definitely enjoy the low resistance tank atomizers better. It does say they dont last as long, but I just got mine in so we'll see how long the life on them actually is. It does help, when you first get a new atomizer, to blow really hard through it to remove most of the priming juice that keeps it good. Then you don't have to vap as long to get rid of it!

I'm having the same issues. I blew out the Atty's before firing them, dry fired them in short bursts, then direct dripped before plugging the tank into the atty. But, I get that burnt cat box litter taste (best way I can describe it), at the end of every vape. Guess it's time to check out you tube videos, to see what kind of wicking adjustments I get done, as both the Atty's that came with my TW Tornado Tank have the after taste. :(

Thanks dormouse, seems taking a very thin needle, and opening up a small channel at the side of the wick tube is the easiest solution. I'm already getting more taste.

I was hoping the Ego T would be a no maintenance solution, but typical for the e-cig world, there is no such thing. I still like everything else about this stick, battery/tank/etc.. Will play a little more after I get my vape on. Txs again.
