Hi all, im new to the forum and new to E-Cigs, and really need someones help/advice.

I bought the Tecc Tornado E-Cig yesterday, and charged it up properly until the light on the top flashed. I then assembled it, and put a 16mg cartridge in.

The problem is, it just isnt producing much vapour, and there is very little throat hit/nicotine craving reduction. I have tried changing the cartridge and using the second battery which I also fully charged.

Does anyone else have one of these? Is it something im doing wrong? I am using the cartridges that came in the kit from the Tecc website.

Thanks for your help in advance

I know there is a definite learning curve for ecigs when you first get started. You have to re-learn how to take a drag. I had to read through some of the inhaling thread, and watch a couple of videos before I learned how to actually take a drag on my 510's. It's more of a long, slow drag. You've got to give the atty time to vaporize enough liquid to get vapor and TH.

OK, so in the first instance, I dont need to invest an a MOD to get this to work. Obviously I would hope it worked out of the box.

Yes I hear you on the long slow drag, I will try that and see if it helps at all. Also when you take a drag, can you still do this in the same way as a traditional cigarette as in draw in then inhale, or do you have to just inhale "fully" right away, because I dont want to have to do that?

Thanks

The model you have is known as a Joye 510, generically. The TECC Titan is a re-branding, so now you know what model it is.

It's a good model which is very well-known for high vapor production. So, I would say you need more time to figure out how to drag on it properly.

I know it sounds silly, but there is a learning curve to it. It took me a couple days to figure out exactly how to get a good hit out of my Kr8. The vapor production, when I began, was very little. A couple days later, I was getting a decent plume.

Long, slow drags, into your mouth. When you are done with the drag, then breathe it into your lungs, and exhale.

If you still don't get much satisfation as far as nic craving, it may be time to take it up a notch. Try a sampler size bottle of 24mg juice.

The 510 is capable of getting great vapor production without any mods.

Thanks Mistress, thats great info, i didnt know it was a Joye 510 rebrand. Yes I am suffering exactly the same thing that you did, almost no vapour and no throat hit. I also have some cherry liquid which I bought to try. I will try inhaling as you said and see how it goes.

NB I just took it into the work toilets for a sneaky toilet ... and tried it and it does seem to produce more, so I will try it again later...bit risky as there was someone in the cubicle next door and I think they would see the vapour hahaha.

Cheers

Stealth vaping tip: Take a drag, holding it in your mouth while you pull, as above.

When you're done with the drag, breathe it into your lungs, but also breathe in through your nose at the same time.

Hold it for a second, then take in a little more air through your mouth, and exhale. Nothin' ;)

Perfect for vaping under cover. And if the juice you're vaping happens to leave a bit of a scent, you can always pass it off a flavored chap stick or something. The smell of vapor, unlike smoke, is mild and usually pleasant.

P.S. I see you hail from London. I spent a great deal of time in your city (enough that I consider it my own, if I can be that forward) and miss it dearly. Say hello to Covent Garden for me. :)

Haha I love it! I cannot believe how much of an e cig underworld there is; i guess I shouldnt be surprised, what with analogues starting to be frowned on all over the world...still a real eye opener.

London is cool, it is like a racing track, get on work work work, drink drink drink...burn out! Yes it is a wonderful city, very culturally diverse now, and as always...gritty! Convent garden is lovely, as is Notting Hill where I hope to be moving to sometime fairly soon.

Did you have any favourite places apart from CVTG?

NOT a rebrand, but an OEM model directly from Joye. It is one of the only "official" models of the Joye 510. TECC, and JANTY I believe are two of the largest brands in europe, and both have EXCLUSIVE deals with joye for naming, colors, and designs. Which is why TECC, Totally Wicked, and Janty get ALL of the 510 and eGo stuff before everyone else.

Oh, god, I could go on for ages. I was a very big fan of the Easy Side - Brick Lane, Shoreditch, all those places. There's a fantastic, beautiful hookah bar on Brick Lane I can no longer recall the name of... but last I was there, they advertised having free coffee and internet in the mornings, on their store banner - it was black. Maybe you can figure it out, lol.

Sometimes I went out to Greenwich just to sit in the park and watch London from above. You get a great view of Canary Wharf from there.

The North Side is interesting, but honestly I never cared for Camden. It's just trying too hard.

I spent a lot of time hanging out with the street performers and buskers in CVTG. I also liked a couple of the bars down by Borough - The Dover Castle, Belushi's...

I really, really loved it there. Unfortunately, I'm an American, and we have very limited options for immigrating to... well, anywhere, honesty.

Sorry, you've got me off on a tangent. ;)

I think re-brand is the right word for that...?

A knock-off would be a "510" model that was not genuine Joye. But a genuine Joy 510, which is branded under another name, is a re-brand, correct?

So a TECC Titan, which is a genuine Joye 510 under another name, is a re-brand.

I tried the drag technique again, and now I think the cartridge is empty as it has gone white? Arghhh! Haha, I will get there.

Brick Lane is cool, but I dont know if you picked up on it, the East Side has a very "dirty/dockside" feel to it, probably because it used to be a dock!" I live right by Canary Wharf, near the O2 which is pretty cool.

North London I dont care for either, Camden has had its day, and I think is trying to reinvent itself at the moment.

West London has always been my first love as far as London goes, you get the cosmopolitan buzz of London without the dodgy East London vibe, which some may like but is not for me. The cafe and bar culture in West London is great too and people generally are quite friendly.

I dont know about Hookah bars..never tried one!

Yup, time to fill up the cart. Just keep dripping into it until it looks "glassy." If there's a liquid dome on it, you've put in too much. Just dab it on a tissue to remove the excess.

Well, when I lived in London, I was very much into the "underbelly." I totally agree there's a dirty vibe to East London - which is exactly what I liked abut it.

But I'm at a very different place in my life now. I still miss London - there are still plenty of places for me to go, in my current, more mellow, "together" frame of mind.

I reckon I would be unlikely to spend the same amount of time in those places that I once did. It's not my scene anymore. But that hookah bar is fabulous, and very laid back - if you manage to find it based on my "where's Waldo?" description, let me know. :p

Now-a-days... I think I may appreciate the West side more than I once did. Not sure. But back in the day, it wasn't risky enough for me. ;)

I also think I'd get more out of the North Side, apart from Camden. It's a very artsy culture, and I being an artsy person (writer), think I should have explored it more. I only went to Camden, which is frustratingly fake.

The thing about London for me, is that no matter where I went, it felt like how I write. It felt like home. And I'm not even British. I'm sure plenty of Brits would give me a funny look for that, but there you have it. I miss London.

Yea I have some cherry liquid so I will follow what you have said, it really is a learning curve.

I, also have been moving into a new frame of mind in the last two years, (Power Of Now..balance etc) and I am sensitive to my surroundings so West London definitely matches that for me rather than East.

Yes, you would probably appreciate the West Side a lot more now I would say. I like art and photography too, and they had a good exhibition on at the tate recently about Voyeurism and the hidden camera...some great pictures in that, although overall I thought it was lacking somehow.

Let me break it down with feeling at home. It is because it is dripping in history and interest. I went to Sydney two years ago, great city, but utterly devoid of any character or passion which meant it was "empty". London is exactly the opposite, it literally is steeped in history and things that have happened over hundreds of years; making it favourable for people who lean towards its lure!

I loved the Tate. :) God, there's another thing I miss.

You're going to make me cry!

I know what you mean about sensitivity. At the time, I partied a lot, which will knock down your sensitivity to surroundings about as well as anything, so I didn't mind.

But now that I don't do that, and my natural sensitivity is more noticeable to me. I look back at my life with street performers and East London fondly, but with no desire to go back. But my memories of West London, and what little of non-Camden North London I saw, are much more fond now than they were when I was there!

I think London is a bit like a bad habit sometimes. The sensitive are drawn there, because it has so many layers and such a powerful vibe it. But simultaneously, it can be overwhelming. I remember once I got so overloaded that I locked up my phone and laptop in a hostel locker, and jumped up a bus to Bristol, to go sit by the sea for a few days. I just needed a break.

I've heard similar accounts to what you've said about Sydney. I've been to cities like that - they're the most disappointing. Everything is there that should equal an awesome city, and it just... isn't. It's all posturing and pretty buildings, and no soul.

But London has the biggest soul I've ever seen. The collective output for 12 million people with a combination of ennui and hedonism, all breathing in one relatively small space. It's intoxicating.

The Tate rocks, but you have to wait for something that is good, its not good all the time, sometimes the exhibitions are awful, but then its subjective.

London has a very big soul, but it can also be the loneliest place on earth. imagine having 12 million people but not connecting with anyone? It can fire up very intense emotions; I have a small circle of friends and I like my own company very much so it doesnt bother me too much.

The best thing about London is the small fish big pond scenario. Everyone is a little fish, and as such, people usually offer the "london respect" thing whilst out and about; you never know who the other person is so people are mindful.

Also, I love the tube. I love the tube map, and I love everything about how it works. Even when it is unreliable! It gets you pretty quickly around the city.

I put some cherry liquid onto the "wick" in the cartridge, about 4 drops and tried it, but it wasnt that great; and burnt very hot.

It isnt as I imagined, and I can see will take some work, I just cant bear to go back to smoking as it is so bad for me.

Maybe I should put some more drops on the wick? It doesnt produce that much vapour, even if I draw on it slowly, or deep or fast.

Yes indeed. Randomly running into someone you know in London is like winning the lottery. Happened to me once. Maybe I should buy a scratch card. ;)

I'm like you - small circle, and I enjoy my own company. It's almost as though London has a personality of its own, such that you never really feel alone. Or at least, I didn't. Even when I did feel "alone, I felt "alone" with the presence of the place. It very much inspired me to write.

And yes, the Tube is wonderful. Sometimes I'd just get on the Circle line to be on it. Go around and around... is that pathetic? I still have my Oyster card in my wallet, and a map of the tube in my computer case. I just can't throw it away.

Anywho, I'm a bit confused. The wick is in the atomizer. The filler is in the cart. Did you drip into the cart, or the atomizer?

If it was the atomizer, does it make a gurgling sound when you draw? I'm wondering if you may have flooded it. Three drops is usually the max for dripping directly into the atty. You can take it off, and blow through it into a tissue to help get rid of some of the excess liquid.

If you dripped into the cart filler, try a couple more drops. Are you drawing HARD? Slow or fast, drawing hard will give you less vapor.

Ahh, sorry! I am putting the liquid onto the filler in the cartridge. i dripped about 5 drops onto it until it was saturated. I have then tried it, and if I pull on it long and slow then it just burns my throat, and only moderate vapor, if I pull on it sharply and hard then I dont really get much of anything.

No gurgling no. All I want is for it to give a decent hit and some vapor, and I cant seem to get it to do this.

Alrighty... I'm more of a carto user than an atty user, but I'll give you a couple things to troubleshoot. Maybe the true atty vets will be here shortly.

Is the filler flush, or close to it, with the edge of the cart? If it's pushed down substantially, take a pin, or tweezers, and pull it up a bit.

Do you have the flat edges of the cart lined up with the bridge of the atomizer? Take a look at the bottom of your cart - if you see melted plastic, then you might not have it lined up, and it could be heating up the plastic.

Finally, try dripping a drop or so directly onto the atomizer bridge. I've found that sometimes it just needs a little extra help getting wet enough.

Im hoping I havent made a mistake and got the atomizer version when I should have gone the carto route...ARGHHH!!!!

Filler is flush to the edge, thats fine. Edges, I dont know if they were lined up or not, but nothing is burnt so that is OK. I lined them up.

I havent tried dropping onto the bridge of it yet, I will try that later. The kit in total cost me £41, about 60 dollars or so, thats with a usb charger and a bottle of cherry 11mg liquid. Yes, that might be a bit low, but it is killing my throat when i take a deep slow drag, and I dont get that much vapor.

Also, I have another silver bit that looks like an atomizer, but it doesnt have a bridge or anything, and I presumed that was for charging? but you can charge without this "extension"....haha this is so frustrating!!

Sorry!
