Hello,
Someone on this forum was curious about how many people outside of the forum vape. I thought I'd join to add myself to the list.
I got my DSE 901 on Tuesday, and I love it. I had about a third of a pack of analogs leftover from Monday, and it lasted until Saturday. That's a drastic drop from a pack a day, and I feel absolutely no need to buy more. (I wouldn't have smoked any analogs since my 901 arrived if I didn't already have a few left over.)
I picked up a 901 Titanium with manual batteries, some 24 (High) Classic Tobacco liquid, and a few spare parts. I basically assembled three 901s with some of the spare parts, and I rotate through them as the batteries recharge. I did the Pyramid Tea Bag cart mod, and it works well.
The batteries are a bit tedious to juggle, since I only have one charger and they only last for a few hours, so this weekend I ordered a black matte 801 with auto batteries and a USB charger (with a few more spare parts). I also ordered two more 901 manual batteries, more juice (including some RY4 to try out), and an e-cig carrying case. I went through two different vendors for my purchases so far, and they've both been great to deal with. I'm looking forward to the two inbound deliveries.
I've been spreading the word to get more friends and co-workers to start vaping. I've even made a checklist of which Canadian vendors sell which e-cig models so they can do some quick research and get on the bandwagon as fast as possible. I did a lot of research over the last couple weeks and focused on the e-cigs with the best reviews. I figure a quick "cheat sheet" will help spread the trend.
I'm a fairly conscientious smoker, so I usually don't smoke around non-smokers. I'm also in favour of smoking bans and most other attempts to increase public health and safety. At home, I always smoke with the window open (even though I live alone). It's now around -30*C (-22*F) where I live, so keeping the window closed is awesome. At work, I discreetly and gently puff away throughout the day at my desk. Sometimes I take bigger drags in the washroom when no one is around, or else I hide in the storage room. Most people who see me are amused, impressed, and intrigued. I still try to keep it on the down-low, however.
I've also been doing a lot of research about the e-cig bans. I think if everyone was a little more conscientious about vaping in public, it would help the cause in our favour. Marketing techniques are also obviously causing more controversy and complication than necessary. I'm also mildly alarmed by the liquid packaging, which has no list of ingredients or contents (this has been my experience so far, at least). It seems like this opens the door wide open to criticism. (Of course, the toxic emissions list on a pack of analogs is a lot more unsettling...) I know that the onus is on the overseas suppliers; I certainly don't have an answer for this.
There's my two cents, anyway. I think my life may have just improved drastically this week, and I'd hate for this to be a short-lived experience.
Cheers.
