Hi Everyone,

Great looking forum! Ill be honest the reason i bought a vape was to aid in quitting smoking. I am/was a 27 year smoker. Happy to say no smokes in 3 days! A record for me.

Anyway, I bought a Kanger Evod 1000mah battery and it came with the t3d. Of course i have the same issues as most, a bit of gurggling, leaking. etc. I think i can handle those issues as per YouTube. Real pain tho.

But I just dont seem to get the vape I expect? Or the flavour, of course im sure its my inexperience in it all. I just expected it to taste and vape better. I bought Hangsen juice, maybe thats my issue? Regardless of if they conform to TuV and ISO standards still made in China. I ordered something else to try.

I was looking at the coils they seem to take forever to heat up. Also I dont think im sold on the dual coil, Single might be faster to heat up, hotter? Maybe i should have started with the variable spinner as an entry and differrent brand tank.

Good Morning and Welcome to the Forum! :)

Happy to say no smokes in 3 days! A record for me.

Congratulations! Keep up the good work!

I'm not sure what you expected - if you got a tobacco flavored juice it still does not necessarily taste like a smoke would because nothing is burning. There are people who swear by Hangsen juice and others that don't like it. As you try more flavors from different vendors, you'll eventually learn the flavor profile that suits you (fruits/desserts/tobacco flavors, etc.) and adjust your nic level accordingly. Give yourself a little more time and experiment! If you have a vape shop nearby, sample different flavors - even ones you don't think you'll like - to find the type you like best.

Good luck to you! :)

Hi, and welcome to the forum! I think most, if not all, of us took up vaping to get away from smoking, so you're in good company here. I smoked for 45 years before I found vaping and I've been off cigarettes for about 3 months now - a real miracle, if you ask me.

The Kanger products are generally pretty good and a good place to start. I've never had much in the way of problems with their tanks (I use the ProTank 2s) and I've only had one leak so far, and that was my fault. I do prefer the regulated variable voltage/variable wattage batteries, but there's no rush to move up to them. You'll find lots of ads and coupons on this site, so when you do decide to change you can usually find a good deal somewhere.

As for flavor, that's a somewhat more complex problem. Remember you've been abusing your poor taste buds for 27 years! They're going to take some time to recover. Make sure you drink lots of water because vaping dehydrates you and that decreases your sense of taste. Some people think that shocking your taste buds helps reset them (think menthol or something along those lines). I know some people automatically shy away from anything Chinese, but you'll also hear lots of people here praise the Hangsen products so I don't think that's what it is. And if you're like the rest of us, you;'ll go through many, many flavors and manufacturers before you find your one true all-day vape.

Coils I can't help much with, but I'm sure someone'll be along soon that can answer your questions there.

Best of luck, and enjoy the journey!

Welcome to the forum Mark :)

Maybe the ohms of your coils are too high? I have to agree those dual coils are not all that great, and they sure are juice consumers!
Personally I would certainly try something other than Hangsen juice

Kanger is a good product tho', congratulations and good luck! Keep your batteries & tanks clean and drinks lots and lots of water ;)

Congrats on 3 days smoke free! The majority of people here are former smokers, or people trying to quit or cut down.

Finding an eliquid you really like is not a trivial thing, and IMO, it is crucial for success. For most people it takes some experimentation. I always suggest to new Vapers that they try as many flavors as they can. Find a vape shop that allows tasting, or order sample packs online. Don't spend a fortune, but definitely understand that you are going to spend some money searching for the right flavors. Also understand that your taste buds are going to change, so in a few weeks, try some liquids that you didn't care for previously and see if your opinion has changed. Finally, don't limit yourself to a particular flavor profile. Even if you are sure you want a tobacco flavor, keep trying the fruits, candies, and desserts. You may find your tastes switching direction after a time.

Similarly, with toppers (the juice holders, tanks, atomizers, etc...) try a few different types. Try dual coil and single coil. Try some top coil and bottom coil. Try a few different brands. You can do this over time. There are a lot of good options out there, and it can definitely be overwhelming. Everything also requires something of a learning curve, so you do have to give each trial a fair chance. This takes time and patience. I'd definitely try a single coil though, since you aren't loving the dual coils at the moment.

Let's talk more about batteries. You said you were considering a spinner or twist type battery. Have you considered any other options?

    Hi!

Keep trying liquids... I do sometimes vape Hangsen, but only 2 or 3 tobacco ones. The rest are not for me.

T3D is OK, but almost certainly a bit leaky and not good on a simple eGo battery.

A single coil T3 would produce more vapour... sure.

I have some of these liquids, bought in France, of course.

E-liquide français Openvap - Distributeur Grossiste en e-liquide - Openvap SAS - e-liquide pour cigarettes électroniques - OpenVap - Créateur et Fabricant Français de E-liquides de Qualité

Yea i considered the spinner because the price for the ability to change voltage appealed to me. To kind of find my sweet spot. I havent considered much else due to the very overwhelming choices!! Ive spent days on YouTube haha. Also i will be getting into rebuilding and the single coil would be the easiest option i figure.

Thanks very much for the warm welcomes. I think i just expected too much at first, I took the thing apart, cleaned it, gave it a quick dry burn and it seems better!

I can be overwhelming! Man, if I was staring today, I don't know what I'd pick.

The MVP is a very popular choice, worth doing some research and reading on.

If you eventually want to get into building coils a whole lot of possibilities open up! It sounds like you are well versed in finding the information you are looking for, so I'll just leave it at that. Even though this is a new member forum, you can ask all sorts of questions here and get great answers.

Hey Das! Welcome and congrats on your move to vaping! Don't worry about the equipment as it is truly a personal journey and you will find what works best for you! I still carry a few ego batteries with Evod tanks when I go out and about, just in case I lose it! I keep my MVPs and iSticks at home because I don't want to lose them!!!!! Just stay positive and you will do great. Plus the forum will keep you motivated and inspired! Once again, Welcome!
