Aloha all from the state of Hawaii!

I had heard about e-cigarettes a few months ago from a UK web news site that had an article about them and how brits were getting past the smoking bans in bars, restuarants, etc. The idea intrigued me but I was unable to find a US supplier at that time, either online or in person. I figured it would be a while before the very conservative US would allow these things to be sold here. So I forgot about them. I was reminded of them the other day when I was at the local mall buying new shoes and saw a Smoking Everywhere kiosk. I took a couple trial puffs and bought the $100 starter kit straight away. Sometimes I really wish I were not so impulsive and had waited to do some online research before plopping down my hard earned cash. From what I have read here, the Smoking Everywhere eCig seems to be at about the bottom of the barrel as far as quality and customer satisfaction. I did notice that there was an explicit "No Refund" sign at the kiosk. Now I know why. That should have been my first clue that this was not a quality product.

My question is, should I give up on the Smoking Everywhere device and just count it as a loss and another life lesson learned? :dunno:

Also, I notice that on the poll in the "reviews" section that this device was lumped in with a bunch of others ... does this mean that these are all the same device with different branding? :dunno:

Anyway, thanks for the forum, it has answered many questions for me, although many still remain. I never want to smoke another cigarette again. I have felt that way for a long time. The pills have not worked, the patches and gum have not worked ..... I need something like the eCig to replace not only the nicotine but the physical process and feeling as well ... because that's how I roll. The few times that I managed to get a good hit off of my new eCig, I really liked it and thought "This is great". (thanks to Ratindahat for his primer puff tip .. that helped a lot, but still most times I am not able to get a good hit even doing that).

Aloha NoFear, welcome to the forum.

There has been quite a lot of discussion about SmokingEverywhere on the forum, if you do a tag search you'll find some of the threads.

If you can get satisfaction with your device then I'd say stick with it while it works. If not then look at another device. If you're using it to stop smoking then you won't want to be stuck without spares so consider buying two kits of a recommended device from a forum supplier. Almost all the suppliers here are good.

The category in the polls that you saw contains other brands and models, they are not necessarily the same or compatible.

Welcome NoFear

My advice would be hang on to your Smoking Everywhere ecig. You will need something to get you by until a better purchase arrives from the mainland. If you are the least bit tech minded, check out the modders forum - there are some ideas that might help you breathe more liveliness into your current device. Don't worry, these devices don't live long without TLC.

For your next purchase, 100 dollars will go a lot further. Research. The suppliers here are phenomenal. Most are willing to answer seemingly endless questions to set you up with the right device and the things you will need to keep it working.

Read avidly here and post. There is so much info already in this forum I have been months here and am still learning cool stuff all the time.

My advice to ALL newcomers - the sooner you get past the idea that it has to look like a real cigarette, the better off you will be. The devices that look like real cigarettes generally do not have the battery power to meet the demands of the atomizer and the consumer. The batteries are way too small - to make it look like a cigarette - to hold up to the kind of abuse we heap on them.

Buy some liquid at least ASAP. Buying prefilled cartridges is going to get expensive really fast. You can refill cartridges with liquid much cheaper.

Well, the Magnum is still working well for me. Filling is a pain in the ..., though. And there is no way to try dripping, which sounds like a good method of vaping despite shorter atomizer life, according to what I have read. I am getting into the habit of only smoking a couple of cigarettes worth off of one cart before switching to a refilled one, to avoid that paper burning taste that I got a couple of times from a dry cartridge. That seems to be the biggest downside for me so far with the Magnum. So far, both batteries have been working well ... one started to stick but blowing it out fixed it. I have thrown away a couple of cartridges that seemed to no longer function well and one started tasting funny ... I don't know why. But with the atomizers being cheap, I am not too bothered. These are meant to be disposable it seems.

I am not analog free yet, but I have dropped down to 5 or fewer analogs per day from a pack a day. These are far better results than any previous quit/cut down attempts I have made so I am pleased.

I may go for a Janty or a 901 though. I like the idea of Janty's interchangeable manual and automatic switch.

I just heard about this new Screwdriver too. That looks interesting, ugly but interesting.
