Greetings Karen,

At the top of the forum are sticky posts that are always at the top of the forum. they are there because the information in them is so good the operators of the forum think they should always be at the top of the forum.

If you want a really big head start in figuring out what is right for you then I would suggest you spend about 1 hour watching the video in this thread...

Hi Karen, and Welcome !
To answer your first question, the cartridges hold the e-liquid.
Your starter kit should come with at least a few cartridges that are normally pre-filled with tobacco flavored carts ( unless you ask / arrange for for something specific during your order process ).
As you use your e-cig and those carts empty out, you can refill the carts with a flavor of your choice ( as long as the batting material stays in good shape ), or you can order new carts from suppliers... the new carts can be pre-filled for you or they can be ordered empty.. blank... allowing you to fill your own right from the start.
These cartridges ( carts ) have a batting material inside of them the holds your liquid ( juice ) inside the cart. This batting material keeps the juice form just pouring out of the e-cig for those times when the e-cig gets held anyway other then upright.
Most types of e-cigs allow one to remove the cartridge from the e-cig and top off, or refill, the cartridge. Most folks use a eyedropper or syringe to move the liquid juice from the bottle to the cartridge. The liquid juice goes right into the batting material in the cartridge.

There are tons of liquid juice flavors available. I have a Marlboro flavored liquid from PureSmoker that tastes pretty close to a Marlboro, in my opinion. But As of today I believe hat particular company is out of stock on pretty much everything, and I don't see the Marlboro flavor even listed anymore.
Maybe somebody else can fill you in on who sells a good Marlboro flavor.

As mentioned above, the answers to your questions are probably already answered in these forums. Search and read alot and you will be a pro in no time ! :)

O.K., I'm new to this. Does one use "liquid" somehow with the cartridges, or just the cartridges alone. Which brands of e cigs allow me to add liquid for taste? We're looking for something that actually tastes like a Marlboro. What would be the best e cig, cartridge, and liquid to try?

Hi Karen;

Follow dumwaldo's link, and you'll get most of the info you'll need. My only advise is to think about the tobacco flavors. Some people are disappointed. After all........you're quitting cigarettes. Try a sample pack of flavors before you stock up on one particular kind. You'll be surprised.

Hi Karen,
I'm new to vaping too, 6th day vaping, and I agree with Jim Davis on all points.

I will tell you that I smoked for 35 years 25+ cigs a day and I bought large bottles of Mar-Bro in 36 mg because I thought it would best match my old analog habit, and help me transition. But in the initial days of vaping (and even on day 6 here) I vape much more, and for longer, therefore I was getting much more daily nicotine then when I was smoking. And, I ordered some Creme Brulee (24mg) from Myvaporstore, that I really like (much more than the 36 mg. Mar-Bro flavor that I have stockpiled.)

Having said that, I believe I would have been better off trying a lower Mg nicotine to start with, so I could vape more (for the habit transition) and not get as much nicotine. Now I will be buying some 'low' nicotine flavors (ones that appeal to me, like creme brulee, coffee, etc) so that I can vape more during this initial transition from analog to vaping and not get as much nicotine.

I'm starting to thing that my problem with the habit of smoking analogs was the actual smoking part I now believe. I love vaping and I won't be going back to analogs, even after 6 days, I feel so much better, breath better, and sleeping better.

Best wishes and much success to you Karen and giving you a shout-out from across the river over here in No. Virginia!
