I'm still new here and have been lurking to try to find answers here and there. There is such an enormous volume to go through, my eyes have started to cross...lol

I just got my v4l XL starter kit and cartomizers today and I absolutely love it. Puts out great vapor and easier to draw on than the last ecig I had. I had ordered the WOW Coffee Shop Sampler and tobacco Sampler. Also got another tobacco Sampler with the kit since the Dr. Pepper flavor was out of stock. Anyways, the problem I'm having is that it seems like I'm inhaling almost straight pepper. It's very harsh and hard to get past. The strength is 24mg. I decided to go up in mg because the last juice didn't seem as satisfying. Are all the juices from v4L this harsh or would it be best to order say a lower nicotine strength? I'm really wanting to quit analogs and am getting a bit frustrated with not being able to find the perfect fit.

Thanks in advance for your help:)

Welcome to ECF!

Nic strength definitely has some impact on throat hit, as well as the PG content of the juice. If you want to try to reduce throat hit while still getting the higher nic I'd suggest going with higher VG content in the juice. I've never tried v4l but many good suppliers on this forum allow you to choose your ejuice base percentages. I'd start with 50/50 PG/VG and work my way toward VG from there. Keep in mind that VG is thicker and unless the supplier cuts their mix it can gunk up cartomizers.

GL and HTH!

24mg, especially is the WOW cartos is STRONG TH (and especially on a freshly charged battery!). The V4L is a KR808D-1 so it is a real 3.7v ecig. The WOW cartos are around 2.5 ohms so they are hot (heat enhances TH, and I also use a delrin drip tip instead of the endcap to keep my lips cool). And the V4L juices are mostly PG (execpt for the VG ones) so they are thin and work well in cartos (as well as let the TH through well) and give good reuse to the cartos, and some are highly flavored in a way that adds a sharp edge to the TH.

So you are getting about as much hit as a 3.7v mod gives. Buy 18mg. You are not the first person who was a 24mg vaper but could not vape 24mg V4L on a KR808D-1. Also never drag directly into your lungs. The vapor is dragged slowly into your mouth and then inhaled. And manual batteries will give you more control of your hit since your breath suction isn't needed to make it create vapor. And lower nicotine reduces the peppery flavor/effect of nicotine, letting flavors come through better.

Try the 18mg. It will be much more pleasant if you can inhale it comfortable. You could buy some thin (20% or less VG) juice in 18mg too and top off your 24mg cartos with it. You will not have a nic fit. Nicotine is much less addictive away from the extra chemicals cigarettes add. Just take a few extra drags if you want to make up the difference.

You can also try the SmokelessImage Volt prefilled cartos, and those at at Bloogplanet for Maxxfusion and at Halocigs for G6. And the blank cartos at V4L and those other shops.

Thank you all so much for your input. I'll look into getting the 18mg for sure then. I thought that with being a PPD smoker of Marlboro Light 100's that the 24 might be a better choice. Guess I have to keep in mind, trial and error, trial and error...lol

I had ordered some Maiden Coffee from Gourmet Juices and love the flavor of it. It's a 80/20 mix, but couldn't get it to vape well in the last ecig (the OTHER vapor king), so I'm hoping it'll work well in the cartos for this one. Again thanks so much for the advice and warm welcome :)
