That was it. Backed it off and it draws fine. How can I fix this? It now doesn't look right with the gap between the tank and Vamo 3. Is there a hole or something I can drill into the Vamo 3 to get the draw when the tank is tightened down? Heck, I don't even know what holes is getting blacked. More info please!!!!

Tanks : Tank Airflow Controller

I posted that link in the newb forum to help someone address the exact opposite problem.

The gap thing is an aesthetic issue that remains unresolved with the Vamo 3.

I've used the PT1's "beauty ring" to strengthen the connection between the PT and the Vamo. It doesn't look perfect, but it does look and feel better.

The Vamo must have a deeper 510 connector than the svd does.

Look at the 510 connector on the base of the PT 2, the 3 holes on the stem very near the base are whats getting blocked. The PT 1.5, and PT 2 have just a slightly longer 510 connector that causes this issue on some mods.

Do you have a Protank beauty ring?

Yes, if that is what came in the box...I have one. It looks like a cone with threads on the inside...one side has a wider mouth and is larger in diameter????

Like this?

If so, take your tank and top ring off the vamo, instal the beauty ring on the outside ego threads (wide end up). Put the vamo top ring back on, use your finger to turn the beauty ring out till its outer edge is just higher than the top of the 510 connector (hold it up and look across the top), then install the tank till it bottoms out on the beauty ring, DO NOT overtighten it. Make sure it fires. Play with the height of the beauty ring/tank till you get the look/draw you want, you should be able to get a good portion of the gap filled and still have an acceptable draw.

I got it....great idea! There is still a bit of a gap. Would it help if I drilled tiny holes on the Vamo connector?

I had an original Pro Tank and Vamo 3, and had zero issues (I lost it!). Is the original Pro Tank designed different so it worked on my other Vamo 3 or is this just an issue with Pro Tank II's????

As i mentioned above the 510 connector on the PT 1 is ever so slightly different than the PT 1.5, and PT 2, on the newer versions it appears they sacrificed a few 510 threads to move the airflow holes lower on the connector. I assume this was done to move them away from the base and help with the base breakage issue the PT 1 had.
