So i just got my Vamo v5 from fasttech that took almot 3 weeks to get to me and it stopped firing.
At first it worked fantastically, then battery ran out. Put them to charge, upside down, and burnt out the charger. Just picked one up and got a Trustfire battery with it at a local spot. Charged my batts till full and started having issue with .12 ohm, 1.5ohm. Found a thread here discussing how to fix due to crappy grommet they ship with. So i got it to read the ohms correctly by using some electrical tape and the original grommet as a spacer. But now the trustfire wont fire it and the two batteries, im sure are toast from my epic f-up, just ready back as low-v.....

This thing cant be bad already, i just got it!!!!!

Please help!:(

Trustfire batteries won't work with a VAMO if they are the cheap ICR chemistry batteries that have (need, actually) a protection circuit. The battery protection circuit conflicts with the VAMO's electronics and causes all sorts of flaky behavior. TrustFires's are ok - sort of - in a flashlight, not in e-cig applications.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

As Rickajho said, you are not using appropriate batteries for a Vamo or for ANY vaping mod. Mods today require IMR (Li-MN) or IMR/Hybrid safe-chemistry, high-drain, batteries.

For an education in safe batteries I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (our resident battery/safety expert) and visit his blogs. Battery Basics for Mods
- choose the safest and right battery for your applications here. Includes a list of name brand, high-drain, safe-chemistry batteries with mAh & amp ratings in 18350, 18490/18500, and 18650 sizes. Charger recommendations are also included.

Safe batteries and a good charger is an investment in your vaping journey. Any battery/charger with the name "fire" in it is NOT recommended.

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

So do you guys think its the battery Causeing my VAMO to nit fire? I know the 2 18350s i have i probably toasted by putting them on the charger upside down for an hour like a dumbass.

But the VAMO with the Trustfire looks to be working ok just wont FIRE at all.

Guys please help me out here, if you think its the battery i will go to a vape shop near me and get a battery. I'm so upset that this thing isnt working and im stuck with my cheap little pen mod, im loosing sleep seriously...lol

I will post a picture of the battery when i get home today.
PS. I believe this is the battery i have. TrustFire-Rechargeable-Battery-4200mAh-Protection

If the battery they used to test it in the vape shop was fully charged and NOT a Protected battery... then you most likely have a defective Vamo.

I would suggest opening a ticket ASAP with Fasttech to get your Vamo replaced under warranty. It will take a while for them to get a replacement to you... you'll have to ship the defective unit to their office in Florida and once they confirm they've received it... they will send you a replacement. Could take a month or two.

While you are waiting... go read all the links in post number 3 and learn about the appropriate batteries for your Vamo.

My local shop used Orbtronic batteries in the mod. I havent heard of any issues using these batts in the vamo.

My biggest problem is that people mention issues using the wrong batteries but don't describe the issues they cause. I've read the above mentioned post and im certain my Ultra Fire is the wrong battery for this mod. No arguments there. But my local shop, to my knowledge used a good Batt, as a matter of fact tried two different Batts to no avail.

Like a said:
It powers on
Reads ohms Correctly
Reads battery correctly
Fires

But no matter what voltage it's set on the volt meter only reads it firing at 1.55 volts.

If someone else had this issue and said, its the Battery, id be buying unprotected hi drain batteries like recommended. But if the orbtronics wont fire it than im at a loss.

Put in a ticket today with Fasttech. I'm guessing they wont accept it since i had to fix the firing pin issue because the grommet went to crap on me.
