Hello everyone at ECF.

So I tried Patches. Tried Gums. Tried Meds. All of which were failures. 4 weeks ago I picked up my first ECig - Joyetech eGo T2 and was instantly hooked. After 2 days I noticed something...... I wasn't smoking analog cigs anymore. (Quite Frankly - I Hate 'EM now) So after the 3rd day I picked up an EVIC and Nova tanks.

Needless to say from there it goes Cha Ching $$$ Cha Ching $$$$ Cha Ching $$$$$ - Currently in for a Pro Vari - smok VV Box - 4 eGo C Twists - A VVPCCP - LAVA Tube 2.0 and currently building two 11+ volt high Mah set ups from Lipo batteries.

What I want to know is anyone having any issues with Law Enforcement nabbing them for "Paraphenalia"? Kinda Funny story as he seriously thought he had a dope'r and was hell bent on proving it. After sitting there handcuffed for 30 minutes a shift supervisor shows up and gets histerical. Laughed so hard that the rookie looked like he was gonna cry. I felt bad for him.
Perhaps someone has experienced this? I'm working on educating the masses to not freak out....... We aren't doing illegal stuff, and definately not doing a wild substance(Removed) as he desparately tried to say I was. Needless to say, I think I have a free pass in that city for a while

Personally, I think I'm going to have a few (or more than a few) interactions with cops where I live, as e-cigs are almost unknown here.

Wow that is crazy. I was kinda wondering the same thing since these devices do not look like the e cigs that everyone seems to know about. Using these actually feels more like being a (other sort) of smoker with all my little tools and what-nots laying around I just love how addicting these things are to use and fiddle with. They definitely fill that "addictive" void much better than your standard e cigs. But I can see where a cop that has no idea about these devices can mistakenly perceive something like that to be drug related. Same as being questioned by a smoker when you are smoking a hand rolled cigarette...........

Most larger towns and cities have educated their LEOs about e-cigs. Sorry this happened to you. It's not the norm. Maybe contact the local shift commander and offer to educate the police in the variances of what an e-cig looks like (big tubes/boxes/pipes/etc)? Do some community service. Maybe win yourself some get outta ticket cards in the process.

I live in Colorado, and the cops here are definitely starting to recognize what we refer to as vape pens, which are used for a processed oil of a certain plant which is legal here, but nowhere else except Washington. So it definitely causes some issue because they look almost identical to many models of nicotine personal vaporizers. That's one of my reasons for sticking to analog sized pvs, less likely to cause that unfortunate misunderstanding (especially while driving...)

Hey Gumby, welcome and congrats on making a good change! I used to live in Oak Cliff and then Garland. Still got friends in your area.

I haven't had a run-in with a cop, though I've wondered if it might happen sometime. The other day I was sitting in the park reading and vaping, and a couple with small kids walked past giving me a really hard look. I couldn't figure it out at first, but then it hit me that they must have thought I was doing something else entirely. No chance to explain/educate, unfortunately.

Never thought about restrictions on illicit talk like that...Guess nobody wants this forum to pop up every time someone searches about that Especially when at least 1 in 10 people ask about the legality of my e-liquid...

Ive def pondered whether a situation like this would arise one day involving my husband and/or myself-especially since we live in a small town in SETX.Ive even considered going as far as typing up a TINY business card size pamphlet that explains what the device Im using is and handing them out to anyone that gives me strange looks,just to further educate the masses!

Now Im honestly thinking about calling my local police department and asking them if they have ANY vaping education whatsoever,and offering to school them on the basics if not.Knowing my luck,Ill show up at the station and be arrested by the first Barney Fife that spots me!Regardless,its a really great idea DougieStyle!

Oh wow, okay. I guess I'd better do some catching up on what those crazy kids are getting into these days! I didn't even know such a thing was possible, hence my ignorance of anything illicit associated with erm... that thing I said. My bad!

edit: Ok, googled it, and learned something new today. Yeesh. Scary.

My father is a police officer here in Norway. He was kinda curious about it when I got my first eGo kit (he didn't really think twice about my cig-a-likes though) and was asking whether or not it could be used for other things. I explained quickly that this was designed only for liquids with nicotine and to my knowledge could not be used for anything else (I've later learned that there are vaporizers designed for other stuff, but that the devices are not interchangeable, so I guess my word still holds water). He said that if they (the Police) were busting down someone's house and went through their items to bring in as evidence, he would have most likely confiscated any e-cigs he would have found, mostly because he wouldn't know what it really was and would make assumptions about its uses. Luckily, here in Norway, confiscated items that are cleared from being involved in any unlawful activity will be given back to their rightful owners (I'm 99% certain, at least, haha).

People generally don't know about e-cigs. This also goes for the Police. So with an e-cig in the hands of the "wrong" individual, a police officer can easily make assumptions, and with probable cause, they will assume an e-cig is something else. My father appreciated the heads up. After all, he doesn't want to make any mistakes in his job, just like most other people I can only imagine the situation is similar in other countries, so I'm sure there are people who have experienced similar situations. The solution: spreading the word and informing people about what e-cigs are and how they function.
