Hello all,
Just introducing myself. I was curious about the vaping thing and randomly went to a shop at lunch. Got a Kangertech Evod and some juice, that was two weeks ago tomorrow and I haven't has a cig since.
Last week I picked up the OSUB 40W Kit and that is definitely more powerful.
I started using 12 mg juice in the Evod and 6mg in the OSUB. I was a little shocked that most people seem to go a lot higher in nicotine content to start with. I was a two packs a day smoker.
I'm hoping to never put another stinky stick in my mouth again. Thanks.

Scary how easy and enjoyable it is compared to all the other quit methods!

Congrats on quitting and welcome to ECF!

How long does it usually take people who vape to get off nicotine though?
That depends a lot on the individual. For myself, I took up vaping as a healthier alternative to smoking tobacco, so I never intended to stop vaping.

I began vaping about 5 years ago, starting with 18mg nic. A year later I dropped down to 12mg and stayed there for about two years. When I read the FDA's Deeming Regulations a couple of years ago, I began a conscious effort to drop down lower. I'm presently at 3mg, and could probably go zero-nic, but as long as manufactured e-liquids are still available and affordable, I plan to stay at 3mg.

My addiction is not so much to nicotine as it is the "behavioral" component of smoking/vaping. By that, I mean the hand-to-mouth behavior and especially my need to inhale and exhale vapor. I have no plans to ever stop vaping, as I find it extremely enjoyable.

Also, what is the best E-Juice?
Again, this depends upon the individual. There are currently hundreds of e-liquid manufacturers, however my guess is that due to the FDA regulations, many manufacturers will disappear due to the difficulty and expense it will be to comply with the regulations.

"Best" e-liquid is like asking what is the best car, best food, best TV show...you get the idea.

People prefer different PG/VG ratios. People prefer different flavor profiles. Some like tobacco or menthol, some fruit, some candy, some coffee, some deserts. That's been the beauty of e-liquids flavors that there are so many to choose from. I find it interesting that for nearly 30 years that I only smoked one brand of cigarettes almost exclusively, but now I enjoy a vast variety of e-liquid flavors.

The best most outstanding hands down be all end all best eliquid out there is the one that works for you and that you like. There are a ton of strawberry creamy juices out there, a lot of them are good, which one is the best? IMHO the good ones are just that, enjoy all that vaping has to offer. The only limitations are the ones we put on ourselves. I vape because I enjoyed smoking. I switched never intending to quit or walk away from anything. Again vaping gives US the CHOICE of taking our own path and our own time to accomplish any goal we have, want to reduce nic intake-it can be done!

Do you still use your EVODs? I love mine for pocket stealth device still. Here is what I did, 12mg EVOD then got 6mg sub ohm couple months later. 1st I dropped all my juice to 6mg and mostly used my EVODs just sub ohm for cravings about 3:1. Each month I lowered it by 1mg till I got to 3mg. You could do the opposite as well and have say 9mg in EVOD for cravings and 3mg in sub ohm and use sub ohm 3:1.
