From Minneapolis MN, started vapin and I love it! I got the Nuport Menthol, Wintergreen and thought I'd try Vanilla and Bananas Foster. I haven't put down the smokes all the way just yet but I'm down to 1 pack every 3-4 days! I'm looking online at diffr't stuff and I see this 510 er'where. Why would you want a seperate atomizer when you can get the 808 and have a 2 piece deal? I see more of 'em so I wundr what I'm missin'? Oh yeah a lot a questins a commin aroun here.

Thanks for the replies. Let me know your favorites and why? If you don't mind.

I have several brands of the KR808's. I only wanted the 2 piece, and it has worked extremely well for me. I just recently moved to a big battery, but my 808's will still be used, too. I like variety. I'm in no hurry to try any more toys for a while. Besides, I still like the ritual, even if I no longer smoke. The big battery I got is also by and from my preferred 808 vendor, so I'm happy. Interchangeable carts and tanks. Couldn't ask for more.

I was an 808 fan too. Couldnt for the life of me figure out why people were screwing around with 3pc e-cigs. I still dont know why, other than to say "to each their own". The Go-Go has taken the place of my 808's. Its still a 2pc, but goes all day on a single filling... both battery and carto's.

I'll take the 808's on poker runs and stuff, because they dont draw as much attention as the Go-Go. But its the way to Go once you've decided that what your vaping on isnt as important as the fact that you're vaping and not smoking.

Hi, and welcome. You're not missing anything, you're just getting started. Most switchers including me are/were looking for a tobacco cigarette look-a-like. Although they replace the real cigarette pretty good they don't give you much satisfaction in the long run. That's maybe the reason you're still smoking tobacco.
I'm new to the vaping scene as well but the 510 connection is the accepted standard for all kinds of different batteries, mods, atomizers, cartomizers, etc. making it more versatile.
The downside of a "two piece deal" you have to refill more often because tanks and a cartridges hold more liquid. All bigger mods and batteries are able to use a 510 connection, which means you can vape longer at a higher voltage. Depending on the quality of the atomizer, a higher voltage will give you better taste and more vape.
Anyone please correct me if I am wrong, but that's just what I learned from this forum the last few days and from people around me who vape a lot longer then me.
Either way it's great that you smoke a lot less then you used to because of e-cigarettes. Happy vaping.

Most mods, variable voltage and large batteries usually come with 510 threads. Besides these two there's close to a dozen proprietary threads for different brands, thus keeping you buying their stuff. (and lots of them way overpriced)

From the lowly Ego 510 with a small 'cigarette' sized battery up to mods with 2-3 large batteries that can give you higher voltages and more amperage, and longer times between charges and for all sorts of different ohm cartos/atty's.

The 510 is just the most common among all the e-cigs.

Ok, I'm learnin. I got my 808 tranin wheelz. I'll work with it for a while until I find my juice. From what I've figured out so far. I't's all a wash until you figure out what juice yer vapin. That's where the money will go long term. I'll just burn my 808, blank carts and juice until I can figure out the best set up. I'm glad I found a place out in the burbs that sells this stuff so I can try before I buy I hope. I don't want to drop 60-90 bucks on a trial and error deal either. Having the 510 charger would give me the most options though.

Before you buy, research and ask questions. A good solid quality starter kit should cost no more that $50 tops.
Happy Vaping.
