New vaper here, anything else I need to buy?

Hi,

I have smoked for almost 15 years since I was 14, anyways, I recently started vaping instead. I really like it, but so far only disposable ones. NJoy kings provide a really nice throat hit, though sometimes I get breathing problems or dry mouth. I have tried some other stuff like Spirit vapor disposables and blu cigs.

So I did some research and I bought a Ovale Ego-C with type B tank. And then I bought some Vaperite 98% VG 2% PG blend ejuice. I'm just wondering which type of juice base usually causes less problems with people? or which flavor?

This is what I bought:

5 x Changeable Atomizers | 2 x 650mAh manual batteries | 2 x Atomizer Cones | 1 x USB fast charger | 1 x USB wall charger | 1 x Pouch | 5 x Tank cartridges | 1 x User manual.
1 x Free 5ml liquid (taste and density depend on availability).

Just wondering if there's anything else I should buy? Is the battery rating how long it lasts or how hard it powers the atomizer? If I carry both batteries would it last me a whole day? Also, is there a personal charger case for Ego-C? And do those work well?

Thanks
:)

PS. If I decide to continue vaping, what "upgrades" could I do for my setup? Or is there a better system?

You'll definitely need more liquid. 5ml will last me about a day and a half, others will vape that in a day.

The "general" idea for battery rating is 100mah = 1 hours of vaping. Both batteries should be good for an all day heavy vaper.

As far as upgrades, I'm not a huge fan of the "tank systems." They can sometimes have leaking or wicking problems. You can keep the batteries and grab some cartomizers or clearomizers and have a little bit better of an experience.

Juice would really get more juice if you are new I'd start with sample kits till you find a juice you really like and then get that in bulk

Sounds like you are starting out like a lot of us did. Only I started with a T instead of a C. That old eGo worked well enough to end a 50+ year affair with cigarettes, so I will be that last person to knock them. However it didn't take me all that long to figure out that there were better delivery systems than the T atomizer. The batteries were fine, but a $7.25 box of LR cartomizers put the T atomizers in the zombie box for good.

Like the others mention, more juice for sure. there are a lot of good vendors out there, just try to avoid juice from outside the states.
If you find that you're getting a lot of dry hits on that ego tank, you may also want to look at something like a ce2, 510 drip atomizer, or possibly even a rebuildable further down the road.

As far as juice types, unless you know you have an allergy to Propylene Glycol, you shouldn't have to worry about base mixture; that 98% VG stuff you have is probably going to be brutal in a slower-wicking eGo style tank/atty. Anywhere between the common 70/30 and 50/50 pg/vg should be okay in those, but if you're looking to stick with VG-heavy juices, you may want to consider a drip atty or rebuildable for best performance.

Hope that helps / Happy vaping!

Thanks for all the responses so far. I did buy an extra bottle, I think a 25ml bottle of VG. If it's too thick, I heard you can dilute it with distilled water? Anybody ever try that? I heard the PG is in there for the antiseptic properties?

Are cartomizers more expensive in the long run?

You can dilute your liquids with distilled water (not tap). Up to about 20% in pure VG liquids. PG adds more of a throat hit (but not as much as nic). If you're just getting off cigs, you may want more PG. I've always preferred 50/50.

Cartos are considered disposable. Though, when treated right (not that difficult) you can easily get a few weeks out of one. 5 packs will run you between $5-8, depending on the brand and vendor. Most people swear by Boge and Smoktech. 2ohm is a good starting point for 3.7V ego batteries.

Also, the atomizers in your tank system are disposable as well. So you will be replacing them too.

Clearomizers, such as the Vision Vivi Mini Nova with a 5 pack of 1.8ohm replacement heads will last you a long time. You can easily disassemble the clearo and clean all of the parts. Add a Thread Cover for a nice stream lined look.

For that dry throat, drink LOTS of water. Vapers drink 2-3 times the amount of water that they drank pre-vape. VERY IMPORTANT.

Btw. Did I mention DRINK LOTS OF WATER.

Wow, this should be plastered on top of every vaping website or something. I drank a lot of water today and had my humidifier running in my office. I feel really good like my lungs are clear. I was getting worried for a while that I was allergic to PG or something.

lol I agree it should be posted everywhere I was thinking the same way your were, until I started reading other post on here

Hey, maybe you're allergic, but try this first: drink a lot of water and take a steamy shower and rule out dryness first.

I finally got my Ego-C, after some delays with USPS. I really like it! Much better than disposable. Throat hit is decent and it lasts forever.

I have a question. I have two atomizer cones and a bunch of tanks. Should I remove the tank from the atomizer if I'm going to be storing it a few days? And if I remove the tank, would the atomizer dry out after a few days?

I'd recommend reading the e-liquid section of the site for juice recos. There are a lot of great vendors in the USA and I'm sure several will help you find the flavors you like best.

I'd also suggest moving to a clearomizer and carto/tank system at some point. Kanger T3s are currently my favorite clearo and they're available from lots of vendors. Valley View Vapes sells inexpensive glass and polypropylene tanks that can withstand any type of juice you throw at it.

Just wondering, what's considered the "nice" stuff ?? I want nice :) For me, this is really damn good already.

Oh boy did you just open up a big can o' worms asking that. (Here come the onslaught of ProVari recommendations). First off, welcome to ECF and congrats on getting off the stinkies. I'm not even going to touch on the wealth of quality choices you have when it comes to "nice stuff". Don't worry. You'll be up to your ears in choices once you browse the APV forums and scan different vendors' sites. My advice right now would be keep those batteries charged, get A LOT more juice, consider dumping the eGo tank system and invest a little bit into cartomizers and/or clearomizers. Way cheaper and less fussy than the factory tank and replaceable atty heads that come with the eGo-c. That's it. When it comes time to expand on your collection a good step up will be a variable voltage battery (eGo twist, Vision Spinner) so you can fine tune the heat output. Depending on how much you learn along the way, you may skip right on to a vv APV like a ProVari or a fixed voltage mod. Head spinning yet? Don't worry. I'll say no more. Your head will spin all on its own. Stay off the analogues, ask for help whenever you have a question, browse the forums a lot, and GOOD LUCK.
