Hi everyone

I am sitting here at the computer with my Joye eGo that I got in my mail box 3 days ago. I am an avid smoker and I never once thought that I would want to quit smoking, in fact, I quite like smoking. I have smoked for 11 years and am/was a PAD+ smoker, the only time that I could think of not smoking or didn't want to smoke was when I was severely sick or hung over(like we haven't all been there )

I heard about e-cigs about a year and a half ago, but never took them seriously, as I had just perused the retailers websites. I had never found or looked for a forum, (funny because every other prospective hobby of mine get's hours and hours of forum research before a decision is made) but this forum and the online dealer and product reviews made up my mind.

I did a lot of research before trusting a dealer (retailer) with my hard earned money, but I finally bit the bullet on Jan 22 2011 and bought a eGo kit with a 2 x 30ml/24mg juice bottles and a spare set of carts and a 5 pack of cartos.

Let me tell you, I've never checked the tracking so much on any parcel that I have ordered in my life. (Maybe that's because I had the sense that my life depended on it) When I finally got the kit the following Thursday, I took off from work an hour early just to get to the post office before they closed to make sure I could get my parcel. I got home and put on supper for the kids, and while it was cooking I opened up the kit and filled a cart, stuck it on the atty, and OMG, fu@#ing horrible!!!!!!

I guess I should have heeded the new atty cleaning advice here a little stronger. I thought it was just some really bad e-juice that I had gotten. I filled a carto, and lo and behold, it was pretty good. Smoked/Vaped 3 cartos(510's) before I had the stones to try the atty's again. Once I rinsed them out under hot tap water and blew them out, I have to say, they are quite fine!!!!!

Long and short of it is......there was never a day that I could go without at least trying to smoke at least one analogue, sick or not, and in the last 3 days, not once have I had the urge. THIS STUFF REALLY WORKS!!!!!!!!

I hope to continue this fine habit/hobby for a really long time, I know that I have never wanted to become a "non smoker". I hate the social pressure brought on by that statement and decision, so I am hoping to make vapeing my true "cigarette replacement therapy", as opposed to the mainstream NRT.

As of right now, both me and my wife are both enjoying a puff on each of the eGo's that came in the first kit I ordered, I think there is hope for both of us:).

The second day we had the first kit, I was so impressed, I ordered a second kit. It's an eGo t starter kit with misc spare tanks, 510 cartos, a cone, 510 carts, and a healthy(no pun intended) stock of high strength e-juice and mixing liquid. What are some good Clubhouse (similar to Lorann) flavourings for a Canuck to try to mix, and what ratio, quantity wise, do you mix them with the base?

Thanks for reading my long winded intro......

Welcome and congrats on quitting smoking tobacco cigarettes! I felt the same way about them. I enjoyed smoking, I just didnt enjoy what it was doing to my body and to my health, and I never realy thought that I would be able to quit them as I had tried several times before.

I bought my first PV on a whim at the mall and struggled terribly to finish off my last pack of cigarettes (couldnt fathom wasting the money). Havent had a cigarette in nearly 3 weeks and I dont miss them, crave them or even want them. This is awesome!!

Thanks for the quick reply. Right now, me and the wife are both having a Saturday night drink, and it is so nice not to have to worry about the house smelling like an ashtray in the morning. I always have felt incredibly guilty when I woke up the next morning after a night of relaxing and the house smelt horrible. I'm sure all you know what I mean. This could just be the thing that makes family life on the weekends more that just "go away, (mommy/daddy) is having a smoke right now" when they come in the kitchen.

I feel guilty just writing this, but I hope you know where I'm coming from.

You have got a great system. I am so looking forward to trying an eGo tank. Let us know what you think of it. This is a great "habit" and can become a hobby for sure. Space for organization is a big part of it. My "stuff" just collected for months before I finally got it organized (a relative phrase for me at best).

I had missed where you asked about mixing. If you haven;t already you might take a look at the DIY forum for ideas. Is also a good idea to download a program or bookmark an e-juice calculator (they are all free and most have some recipes with them). My personal favorite that is easy to use is the "eJuice Me Up."

Thanx gents

I've been pretty busy sharing my enthusiasm here over the last few hrs and have made my way to the other forums. I found the Canadian forum right away and posted a new thread there to see if there are any fellow manitoba vapers. I sure hope to connect with a few through this forum (HOLY COW THERE IS A LOT OF FOLKS ON HERE). I just love meeting a new community of like minded folks whenever I take up a new activity.

This is much like any other friendly hobby based forum I've ever had the pleasure of signing up on. Glad to meet you, fellow vapers........
