Hi everyone! I've been following this forum for a while now but I only registered today because I received my first ecig two days ago.

With my current setup, I like the vape (very dense vapour), smooth hit (perfect) and flavour is alright!

Yesterday, I went to the store and bought the Nautilus Mini because I heard so much about them that the vapour and flavour is insane and I wanted to try the difference between a top atomizer and a new BVC (bottom vertical coil).

I'm so disappointed about the Nautilus Mini. Can anyone explain the following:

Current setup:
- VaporFi Ego 650mah 3.7 volt battery (not variable)
- VaporFi 2.5ml tank with top atomizer at 2.5 ohms

New setup:
- VaporFi ego 650mah 3.7 volt battery (not variable)
- Nautilus Mini 2.0ml tank with BVC (bottom vertical coil) atomizer at 1.8 ohms.

The new setup (with nautilus mini) with the same 3.7v battery with atomizer 1.8 ohms is giving me strong hits, good vapour (but much less than my current setup) and takes so much more juice! Any explanation?

current setup: 3.7v with 1.8 ohms atomizer = ~5.5 watts
new setup (nautilus mini) 3.7v with 2.5 ohms atomizer = ~7.5 watts

Higher watts should deliver more vapor... I also tried the nautilus mini with a variable battery at 4.5 volt (11.25 watts) but still less vapour than my top atomizer at 5.5 watts.

Note: I used the same 70%PG/30%VG juice in both setup

The BVC coils do suck up a lot more liquid. I noticed that too

I don't mind that it takes more liquid, but why less vapour? It looks like everyone with the nautilus mini are getting extreme vapour production.

At 5.5 watt with a top atomizer I get really high vapour production but with the nautilus mini BVC at 7.5 watts I get much less vapour production. That does not make sense.. at least for me.. any veteran can explain? :)
thanks alot in advance!

I can' t explain why the mini uses more juice to produce less vapour, but I can understand why you changed a setup you were happy with - vapers can't resist expensive tinkering! Welcome to ECF.
:) thanks

I've been told that it makes more vapour and that my current setup that came with my starter kit was an old technology and there was better. So that's why I wanted to try the new Nautilus Mini BVC. Also it's easier to clean/refill and change flavor with the Nautilus Mini.

If your battery is some kind of ego it may not have enough power to fully heat both coils in the nautilus. I use RBAs 100% of the time. A friend had a Nautilus so I tried it and it rocked my world! He had it on a mod though so it was able to put out enough power to both coils. I contemplated buying one for weeks after that. I just couldn't come round to the idea of buying coils for it or I would have.

I would tend to agree with above post. It's likely the ego does not have enough power to fully heat both coils. I've not tried the mini personally , as I too use rbas 100% of the time but if your interested in continuing to use it, you might search for a device with more power behind it so you can get a optimum experience from it. I do hope this helps. Best wishes.

I think Dana is on the money. An EGO battery is not very powerful. I would recommend investing in a Vamo / MVP2 or >iTaste VV V3<, all VV/VW it would provide a much better vape. 90% of Ego in-built batteries have a 2.5Amp Limit. this should not effect a 1.6ohm coil or higher but any lower and its pushing the limit.. In theory lower ohm should provide more power.. Maybe your Ego is cutting off some power. Can't be To sure but i know the nautilus can produce great amounts of vapour.

I think you have your current setup and new setup Ohms the wrong way around ?

He bought a Nautilus mini with bvc. This is a single vertical coil vs the dual coils that were in the original Nautilus. While available power may be the problem, it's not related to dual coils.
