Hi,

I just discovered e-cigarettes a couple of weeks ago. I am happy to say I have completely eliminated analogues already! But I sure have a lot of questions.

I am using KR808D1 gear, which happened by accident but seems to be working well for me. I started with a 'cig20' battery and two cartridges from a buddy who didnt like them. It worked for me... until the battery died. A little googling and I ordered a compatible charger, along with a passthrough and 10 more compatible pre-filled cartomizers, from myvaporshop.

They shipped the order quickly without any problems, the charger works fine. The passthrough works great, although I was a bit put off at first, it seems to run very noticeably hotter than the battery does, but once I got used to it it's fine. I like the battery better with a new cart though, and think the passthrough works better after the cart has been used a bit.

But as to the pre-filled carts... well I am using them. I got chocolate and virginia tobacco, I assume these are the same liquid I would get buying their least expensive eliquid in the same flavor, and I cannot say I am a fan. It doesnt taste anywhere near as good as the cig20 carts did. I still have one of those that isnt dead and I stick it on the pass through now and then for a mouthful that really tastes good. It's their standard 'tobacco' flavour.

I can see they are outrageously overpriced, and their liquid probably isnt anything special, but it might take me a long time and a lot of bottles of juice to find the same thing, so I am hoping someone has some insight into what the critical difference in the taste I am sensing is. The difference is so striking I suspect it may have to do with the base, VG or something? But I havent the experience at this point for that to be anything more than a blind guess. That cart seems to vape more easily, particularly on the battery, and it just tastes so much better.

I also tried two disposables while waiting for the charger to come in, a 7's menthol (not impressed) and a 'smokeless selects' e-cigar. The latter is a very interesting piece. My favourite vape so far. Massively overpriced on-line but I pay less than half that for them at the local smoke shop. Seems to last a decent amount of time (it isnt dead yet, I have been taking it easy on that one since I got my order also, but the manufacturers claims would put it at equal to ~9 carts so the price is only a little higher than the cheap carts) and it tastes *great*. The only thing is it could use a little more quantity of vapor production but it works for me anyway.

But... I understand most people refill carts. Might be my next step. Sounds messy :(

So... what I am contemplating now is ordering a couple bottles of juice. Avoiding the extremely inexpensive brand that I presume these carts were filled with and trying some others. I have been googling on the subject for a couple of days now, and trying to narrow it down to just a couple to use to refill these carts. I figure to stay with one tobacco flavor and one foofoo, so I can use the colors of the existing carts to identify which one takes which juice - I mean, I'd like to just order 50 of each instead, but there is no point in buying more juice than I can use in a couple of weeks.

In fact, at the moment, I have enough carts I dont really need to order anything immediately. I just really want to try another flavour I suppose. But should I actually just get liquid and refill these things immediately when they run out, re-using them until they need to be thrown away, BEFORE opening a new cart? Or is it ok to use 10 carts over a couple weeks and just sit them down until you get near the end, then order juice and refill them all? I think I read somewhere they would actually dry out and then not work well when you refill? So do you just open 2-4 carts and keep refilling those until they need replaced, then unseal new ones?

And, yeah, I would like to order another battery and some juice I guess. Recommendations on the juice? Is anyone familiar enough with the two I liked (the throw-away cigar and the cig20 tobacco flavour) to comment on what would be close to those?

I have to say that I'm not a fan of the juices in pre-filled carts. It only took me a couple of weeks of using them to realize that there is a better way for juice delivery to my batteries. Luckily I had also purchased some blank cartomizers and some bottled e-liquid to try, and that is the route I went to and have never looked back again.

You will soon discover that finding great flavored e-liquid is a very hit-or-miss adventure. The best advice that I can give you is to order small quantities of many flavors from several different juice vendors to see which ones you like. Then once you find some winners you can purchase larger quantities of those flavors. Many of these vendors sell sampler packs which are an economical way to try multiple flavors without wasting large sums of money on larger bottles that you may not care for.

I suggest looking at Smokeless Image. Smokeless Image | Only The Best Electronic Cigarette | Smokeless Image Electronic Cigarettes - The Future is in your hands

They are a popular, reputable dealer here on ECF that cater to the beginner/intermediate vapor, and also exclusively use the 808 threaded format with all of their gear. They also offer two lines of e-liquids, one of which is offered in pre-filled cartos. They have video demonstrations of their equipment (ie. how to fill a cartomizer) in the lower right corner of their home page. They also have a very active sub-forum here where current customers can answer your questions on the Smokeless Image products. Smokeless Image

I have an old KR808D battery that I am using CE3 clearomizers on and it is working beautifully. My only complaint is the tiny tiny fillhole the syringe has to go in can be a bit tough for these old eye to see at time.

Even though I have bigger batterys and even a VamO (which will arrive today). I still use that little 808 battery as my running about town doing errands rig. It is a handy little thing. :)

The pre-filled carts seemed like a great idea really, they dont cost anymore than the empty ones, and from what I read they last longer prefilled and you can never fill them up that full yourself. But the tastes on the ones I got is definitely not something I will buy again, so I am planning to start getting blanks or clearomizers and some juice. I went down to my local smoke shop again just to check their juices, they had a couple of brands but nothing I had on my list of want-to-tries and their prices werent good either. I guess the best thing is to open one, then keep refilling it till it degrades, then open a new one, right?

So anyway since their juice options didnt suit me I got two more of these e-cigars for backup. I dont know why everything else e-cig related is more expensive in stores, but that one item is the opposite, but at half of the online price I really think these disposables are a great deal. They seem to last a very long time (still havent killed my first one) - they taste great - and since you really vape more like smoking a cigar than a cigarette, the whole thing feels slightly more natural with them.

As soon as the first one runs dry I plan to tear it apart and see what it's like inside. Pretty sure I will find something very similar to my 808 buried underneath the faux tobacco leaf wrapper, though probably a bit thicker. Wish there was some way to analyze the juice and duplicate it but I guess on that there is little to do but trial and error.
