Greetings,

I just quit smoking after 30 years, and new to vaping. My first experience with e-cigarettes was back in 2006 when a friend tried to encourage me to quit smoking with them. He had those cigarette look a-likes that were not very satisfying at all and only made me cough no matter how hard I tried. No flavor at all either.

Then two years ago, my wife came down with breast cancer and a liposarcoma tumor. After finishing school and after my wife's most recent surgery, I decided it was time to finally quit for good, but without the corresponding weight gain. The times I tried to quit before, by cold turkey, patches, gum, etc, after I thought I was successful, I would not be able to stop eating because I had no behavior to replace the smoking ritual, and I would gain 30-40 lbs of weight.

After doing research and seeing that vaping technology has improved tremendously since 2006, I decided now was the time and this time I might be successful since I would have the behavior that replaces the smoking ritual. I decided on a Kangertech dripbox as my starter kit, then I also got a Smok Alien 220W with baby beast tank as my second kit.

It's great to see that vaping is taking off and the technology itself is improving all the time. But it's sad to see that we are facing a lot of opposition, which is crazy in itself.

3 1/2 weeks now without smoking and it's great.
