Hello Everyone,

I've been lurking several weeks but this is my first post. Bought a pen style from Puresmoker, vaping 3 weeks and completly off analogs for 7 days. I smoked about a pack of lights a day for the past 13 years. Switching to vaping was very easy for me. It took me two weeks to get up the kahones to ditch the analogs, but when I did it was pretty un-dramatic.

I've tried pretty much every way to quit smoking in the past. Chantix, every kind of NRT, wellbutrin, I thought I was hopelessly addicted. My last attempt wit chantix was the most successful, but after a few months I was closet smoking again. The whole ordeal had taken its toll on my self esteem. I am thankful to have found vaping.

I want to have a kid soon so I will be tapering down to 0 nic. I'm very confident now that I can do this now thanks to vaping.

A couple of random observations..

I thought I would like liquid that tasted most closely to cigs but after a few days I found that I much prefer fruity flavors and menthol. I was never a menthol smoker.

Before when I needed an analog there was this fiending feeling I would get where it would completly overtake my thoughts until I had my fix. I've noticed with vaping that the feeling I get when I need nicotine is different. I feel a little anxious and foggy feeling but it's nothing like it used to be with analogs. Makes me think there is truth to there being other powerful addictive substances in analogs.

Vaping in public is a great conversation starter. Most of the time I have fun with it. Sometimes I wish it were more known about because I don't want to have that conversation EVERY time I vape. Sometimes I just want to get your fix and go on. I hate to be rude though.... So far Ive handled it by just hiding when I feel that way .. vaping in the bathroom for instance instead of going outside.

It's great to hear that you've had such a positive experience with everything, Abby!

Welcome! It's great to see another Texan in on the conversation. I am curious how the Austin crowd would handle seeing the e-cig. Austin's not quite as "weird" as it once was, but usually people handle things like that better than in some, more conservative cities. I went to school in San Marcos when it was still Southwest Texas, so I spent a fair amount of my time in Austin.

I've found it much easier to stick with the flavor that isn't tobacco, as well. I can understand your experience, there.

Keep it up, stay clear of the analogs, and you'll be nicotine-free in no time!

Let us know how things continue to go for you!

So far the reactions have been completly positive. I haven't really smoked in non-smoking places except home and discreetly at work.

When I go out I'm around smoking friends so its usually at an outside place or else I'm going outside with them to vape while they smoke. That puts me vaping around a lot od smokers or smoke-friendly non-smokers. I get questions about it each time and everyone wants to know where to get their own.

I've noticed NJOY for sale at a few places around town. Some mentioned to me the other day that a popular morning show here spent about an hour talking about e-cigarettes the other day because someone brought one to their studio. I didnt hear it myself but they said the discussion was positive.

The only weird looks Ive gotten have been in the car. I have a black penstyle with blue led so Im sure people wonder what the heck it is.

I've been smoking for too many years to count - have to stop. Like you I've tried everything (my husband too.) Am hoping this may be a nicotine replacement system I can live with, but don't know where to start. Which product, company, etc. Who is a scam & who is legit? Seems there are significant $ involved for the newcomer so I am confused and concerned. Any advice, info you can provide will be appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have a lot of experience with different equipment, but I'm very happy with what I got and who I bought from.

I got a Generic Penstyle + 2 extra atomizers + USB Passthru + juice sample pack +5 extra carts from puresmoker. Ive bought some juice samples from Johnson creek too.

I haven't been using the cartridges, just dripping, so I'll have those around a while.

This makes 4 or 5 people from Austin that I've seen on the forum. I'm glad. I'm like you...I don't mind occasionally telling strangers about ecigs but I don't want to have the conversation every time that I take it out. I've only been vaping for a couple of weeks but I feel like I've had "the talk" a hundred times. :) At least now I know that our numbers are growing (even if it's just a few people at a time) here in Austin, so hopefully the site of an ecig starts to become more common.
