I've been puffing on my new KGo, ... My first Real vaping experience.
A sampler from DarkCity Vapors are my virgin tastebud's introductory juices and truth be told, I'm sort of underwhelmed.vi know my expectations are probably unreasonable. I was sort of expecting a bit more cigarette-y experience. To me, the favors had a bit too much of that chemically fake ness to it.
I did however find myself quite enjoying their Strawberry Mint ... But, still... Not in love.

Is it just a matter of finding the right brand? Do I need to move up to a 5v setup to get the satisfaction?

I love not smoking cigarettes, but I want to love vaping, so I'll never br tempted by cigarettes again.

I've been vaping for a few months (after a few cheapo duds a few years ago) so let me be the one to tell you, that you really have to give up on the expectation that you'll find something that is going to replicate the taste of a cigarette. For a while I was sucking down 10ml of nuport, usa green, and smooth ice every couple of days, trying to replicate the harshness of the pall mall menthols I was smoking before. It didn't work and I was giving myself nic headaches all day erry day for a few weeks there. Then I sort of had a revelation that I've been going about this the wrong way.

So far I've only found a couple of juices I really liked (i've been craving gorilla juice since i sucked down the 6ml sample within three days) so really, as someone just coming out of the phase you're in, what you really have to do is abstain from cigarettes long enough that they start to smell really nasty to you. Then get a few sample packs from here and there. try a few unexpected flavors. The general consensus seems to be that you'll wind up loving something you wouldn't have expected to.

Just hang in there, baby. You'll find those couple of juices that'll make you never look back.

Make sure to buy small samples until you find a couple flavors that hit you right. Also your tastes will change as your taste buds heal, what's good now in a few months may be so-so and something you couldn't stand now will be your all day vape...:)

Then again you may do what I did and give up pre-mixed, and DIY your own flavors, add as much or as little of whatever flavors you have a craving for that week...

All over the place
Sometimes, all this info and resources can be a blessing and a hindrance at the same time. When I first got an 8080 kit, I knew nothing of volts, watts, APVs, or even juice for that matter. I thought it was all about screwing pre-filled cartos on. I thought I was on to something the first time I popped the plastic tip off the carto mouthpiece. Too high of expectations for beginners can never truly live up to the results (IMO). I don't really know what to tell you other than all these people on this forum are not wackos, and there is surely something out there worth all of this attention, or we wouldn't be here.

p.s. I never, ever liked the k-go or those flavors from that vendor...at all (no disrespect)! I preferred my Volt battery from Smokeless Image and their RY4 to get me through my initial research. I didn't start with the Volt, but it solidified me being a vaper. The k-go and those juices only solidified the notion that not everything will work for everyone, but I can assure you that there is a set-up out there for you...as to whether you will find it or not...I don't know. I hope you do! We all started out somewhere and it wasn't always pretty!

As has been said, that 'cigarette' thing is never going to be completely there. After vaping for a while and keeping away from cigarettes, you'll probably wonder why you ever wanted something that tastes like that. Go to anywhere that has samplers and grab anything that gets your interest...you'll find something. I shopped with Dark City Vapors for my first kit and juice and, while I love my kgo gear and the customer service I got, I unfortunately didn't find a winner in the 9 juices I ordered. That's not so say that plenty of people don't love juices from DCV, I'm sure they do. I have found plenty of juices I love from other places though, and there's every chance that you will, too. Keep at it!

When I started about 2 weeks ago. I ordered 20 different tobacco flavors from 3 different vendors. Out of those I only found 1 I liked which was Boba's Bounty. Which tastes nothing like a cigarette, but the flavor just worked for me.
And as others have said as time passes without an analog your tastes changes. Now I'm ordering non-tobacco flavors and enjoying the hell out of them.

I'm NEVER going back to analogs

You think you've got it bad now, wait until your taste buds give out on you! It'll happen too, it does to all of us. I'd suggest some Boba's Bounty from AlienVision Ejuice. Also some Freedom or Torgue56 from Halo. None of these will taste like a cigarette but they will feel more like one than most other juices. Also get some menthol or cinnamon to have on hand for when the taste buds die on you. You'll need something strong to get you through that stage.

Also some good cartos or attys for your KGO. I'd suggest LR Boge 2.0 cartos to start with. They give you about the same results as 5v vaping.

Keep at it and keep asking questions.

I agree. I went through it as well. I'm a few months in and I still lean toward tobacco based flavors, but cigs are now nasty to me. The best tobacco flavors I've found are ec blend choco hazelnut tobacco, totally wicked blueberry tobacco and vanilla cigar, and pink spot swagger. RY4's can be pretty good too, especially afetr steeping a while. Like Orobas said, hang in there!

DarkCityVapor is an excellent vendor and Bill Cordell has been a complete gentleman to deal with for me. But that doesn't mean that you will like all (or any) of his juices. His Creamy Joe (18mg) is one of my favorites, and I really like the Hillbilly Heaven (after it steeped for a couple of weeks). His Triple V is my son's favorite. And I'm not much on menthol, but his Sweet Strawberry Freeze is really growing on me.

Your tastes may be completely different than mine. I see other people here rave about juices I tried and hated. Go figure.

Also, let those juices steep for a few days and try them again. If you still don't like them, try them again after a couple of weeks. I didn't care much for the Hillbilly Heaven until it had steeped for a couple of weeks.

One other thing, I find that ECBlend's Ry4 is the juice that gets me closest to the sensation of smoking a cigarette (i.e., the throat and chest hit). Notice that I said SENSATION, not TASTE. It doesn't TASTE anything like a cigarette. I think when people say they want a cigarette taste, what they really want is the sensation.

I've said this on other threads and I haven't seen anybody say "yep, me too." So ECB's Ry4 may only hit ME that way and nobody else.

Some awesome advice and sharing here! I second it all and can't add a whole lot but to keep on chipping away at it. Not sure how long you've been at it but at a little over the two month mark now I'd say I'm just starting to get into a good grove with the set up I have. Only very preliminary now with an Ego T 650mah battery (that came with my original kit) still and using either Vision Clearomizers V2 or the Ego Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer. I now realize I'm glad for what I didn't like.

Glad for Blu Disposable menthol because I hated it and went searching on the net for something better. Thankfully I found this forum and all the sharing and information I needed to help me along in my journey. Glad for the first juice order I made which I did not like any of them. Thankfully, I did have Dekang menthol that I bought with my original started kit that I did like a lot and helped get me through to find other juices I liked a lot. Granted I've been through 40 some odd flavors all told SO far but do love about, um, probably 10 of those and a couple I know I will never want to be without. Thankful for the eGo atomizer that I grew to hate in pretty short order (about the 2 week mark when the $12.79 atomizer's started going bad and I was like oh no this isn't going to work) but again the sharing here led me on to better things to try and like much better. MUCH better!

Do I have my optimal set up yet? not sure but it's good. It's kept me off analogs. I bought my kit on April 9th. I smoked a couple analogs a day that first week as quitting most anything cold turkey does not agree with my system. Smoked my last analog on April 16th. Bought a pack on April 18th (a stressful day at work) but never opened them. They still sit unopened in the bottom of my purse. Just because. So a HUGE thanks to all the good folks here for all their info and sharing. Keep asking questions and trying things as your budget allows and best of luck to you!

I quit smoking on the patch for 10 days. I was bound to start smoking again. After 10 days of not smoking, anything with a cloud attached to it was good. I started on the blu disposables when I went out of town for 5 days. I brought 3 with me and it got me thru all of that urge while being busy out of town. Most of where it would have been hard to smoke anyway. I was happy to be able to lay in the hotel room and vape like I was smoking. Not leaving any smell or traces of smoking was my first enjoyment.

I think if everyone quit smoking for a week and then picked up an e-cig when they are about to fall off the wagon, things would be much easier, and you never know, it might get you off of all nicotine before you have to resort to vaping. If I had never known there were so many different flavors, the blu would have sufficed indefinitely, or until I got over vaping as well.

I still take blu disposables on trips instead of trying to explain my gear thru security being I take mostly carry on. After being on the plane without vaping for hours, it's a welcome, and sometimes downright good, regardless of whether it is a favorite flavor at home.
