New here, over one week some-free and loving it! I'm an avid surfer who has unfortunately been smoking for nearly a decade, was up to over a pack a day. My business partner and I decided to try the e-cig thing together (split the cost of a kit) and now both of us have been smoke-free for over a week and after much research on this great information resource have ordered additional batteries, carts, juice, etc. from the various great retailers partnered here.

My lungs are thanking me so much right now, and I can't wait to try out my new lungs in some good waves! After years of smoking and several lung infections, near-drowning experiences, and tons of money wasted, I'm incredibly happy to say that I never want to pick up another cigarette again. Many of my friends smoke and even after the first 3 or 4 days cigarettes started to smell really displeasing to me, now I can't stand them and I'm having revelations of "is that really what I smelled like when I smoked?"

Thank you ECF for providing this great forum for information and discussion!

banjo, where in Florida? the Gulf Coast is notoriously wave-free 98% of the time, but where i stay on the Treasure Coast we actually get quite a bit of surf. definitely not like California, but more than enough to keep us happy (along with frequent trips to Central America and the Caribbean) :)

Rosa: KR808d-1 right now, i wanted something that resembled and sort-of felt like a cigarette to start, and its great for vaping on the go and at the local watering holes. Seems as though most long-time vapers end up moving away from the cigarette-type e-cigs to something that is really more practical and better for vaping, but i wanted to start somewhere close to my comfort zone.

to be honest, i had no idea what i bought when i bought it. a local tobacconist carries some very limited e-cig gear and i felt more comfortable buying something in person that i could hold and try instantly and decide. not sure what other models he carries as i've just ordered on-line since then (and realized that's what i should have done to begin with, the prices are wayyyy better), but the 808 was most visually appealing to my friend and i from what he stocked. definitely a happy accident though, i'm beyond happy with it and others seem to swear by them.
