To start off, Canadian here, so the whole ecig replacing analogue is a bit of an issue currently. Regardless, I do have some other questions!

So I'm a long term (20 year) smoker, average ~1PAD, and smoke anythign from unfiltered hand rolled to (currently) superduperlight Vogue Slims. The habit is killer, regardless of strength I smoke around the same amount/day (hence these vogue dealies). I've been playing with disposables, and have ordered a Bloog Maxxfusion PCC kit (220 mHa battery) in the meantime.

I guess you're wondering, "Rec, wtf, there's no questions yet."

You are correct, there are none....until now.

Concerning the Bloog:
-I read some reviews, and saw a video, it looked like it was giving a good amount of vapour and the reviews all seemed positive. Are there any seasoned bloog users who can give me any insight on what I'm to expect? Tips, tricks, problems, things to watch out for?

ECigs in general:
-How long does a carto physically last? I ordered 10 blanks, but if I can't find ~amount of uses from them. I don't plan on getting ultrasonic cleaners or anything like that, so I guess "standard use".
-These diposables should be giving ~300-350 "puffs" according the the site, what should I expect from the bloog? I'm sure fluid type and battery makes a difference but I'm just looking for averages?
-How much fluid does a cartomizer hold? I ordered a 5 pack sampler (3mL per, 15 total) but that seems like an awfully small amount. I don't visualize volume terribly well so all I picture is a couple drops in each bottle...

EJuice:
-The juice+nic is a roadblock for me due to region. I recall reading that I would need 5 posts to be able to PM some cad resellers, so I'll just have to work on that. The wife makes frowny faces when I mention Nicotine, Health Can, and Banned Import; but I have a hunch it'll either be that or using supplements from the pX that cost 30$+ on top of vaping. So yea, I'll just have to work on the 5 count. 1 down.

I'm sure I'll have more questions, but for now these'll do dandy. TIA.

Hi and welcome to ECF and congrats.

Realize some reviews are "staged" and the only ones I trust are from known ECF mebers combined with additional DD.
Don't own one but re: batteries 100 mah= 1 hr normal vaping before recharge.

It really depends on the brand. My Smok Techs lasted 1 week/ 40 ml juice and if they were in a tank 2 weeks. Also darker juices will clog it quicker.
How much fluid does a cartomizer hold?
20 drops = approx. 1 ml.
Standard cartos hold about .08 ml, XL hold 1.8 ml and XXL hold close to 3 ml.
The juice+nic is a roadblock for me due to region. I recall reading that I would need 5 posts to be able to PM some cad resellers, so I'll just have to work on that.
Lots of quality Cdn vendors. After 5 posts wait 1 hr and request a Cdn vendors list
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...w-nic-supplier-list-via-pm-only-part-2-a.html
www.CANVAPE.com is the cheapest Cdn vendor with the latest and highest quality stuff. Prolly the #1 vendor in Canada and is ECF listed.
Good Luck.

Oh my where to start....

Bloog, well they are an analog look alike. The batteries will last 2-4 hours depending on how often you vape. Make sure you have more than 1. I personally only used the analog like bat's for about a week when I started vapeing and found them to be a serious pita, to much charging and take 4 or 5 bat's to do a day at work.

300-350 puffs. Well that is kinda true. That's probably how many TOTAL with refilling you'll get (one of the mistakes new vapors make is the thought of a carto lasting until it's out of juice, this is not so, you WILL need to top off the carto to keep it in good working condition), but from one carto full, not going to happen. I personally go thorugh anywhere between 3 and 7 Mils of juice a DAY. I hear I'm pretty average.

Some folks clean cartomizers, on those rare occasions I use carto's, I toss them when they aren't working (I'm an atty girl) up to snuff.

On a side note if you LIKE the Bloog, then by all means stick with it!! When you get to a 5 post count and an hour, you can post elsewhere on the ECF forums. Suggest you pop over to the Canadian forums and see what THEY have to say. As an American I can get things you can't and vice versa.

Hi and welcome to ECF. I can't answer the Bloog specific questions but I can give you my experience with the others.

How long does a carto physically last? I usually get about a week to week and a half out of one. Sometimes they go longer, sometimes not so long. The main thing that makes them no longer usable is that after a while they'll taste nasty.

What should you expect from the Bloog as far as performance? The general rule is, if you're a normal vaper expect about 1 hour per 100 mah of battery. So 220 mah, expect about 2 hours per charge. But I'd say a bit less personally.

How much fluid does a cartomizer hold? It depends on the carto. Some hold 15 drops, others hold 2 ml. The standard 808's I've used hold about 1.2 ml, or about 25 drops. Although drops vary in size, and thus volume, 20 drops of PG juice is supposed to be around 1 ml. VG juice is thicker, and therefore produces slightly larger drops. You can't count on drops as a unit of measure though since there are other factors involved in the size of a drop.

Well, I hope that helps some. Good luck and if you have more questions just post them.

A lot of folks have already given you some great advice. I won't repeat all that except for one particular point I feel is very important for newbs. Here it is:

Cartomizer refilling. You probably have it in your head that you will fill a cartomizer, vape it til its empty or close to being empty and then refill. This isn't how it's going to work if you want to get the most carto life you can.

The procedure will be that you'll fill the first one. The first fill is the most crucial of all filling. You want to make sure you get full saturation. For newbs, I recommend the condom method. For a demonstration, just type in "carto condom method" into you tube. There are many videos.

After the first fill, you will want to top off your cartomizer with between 5-10 drops of liquid every 2 hours or so. The easiest way to a dead carto is not keeping it wet. Alternatively, you can fill up 4-5 cartos the night before and then you'll just have to switch out every few hours. You can then refill all five when you get home from work.

I know that sounds pretty tedious and it's why most of us go up the ladder to either clearomizers, tanks or other systems that don't require constant refilling. You've bought bloog though so this is what you need to do.

Wow, wasn't expecting replies this quickly!

I won't be replacing my bloog any time soon, it was a hefty upfront purchase. Battery life isn't a major concern, I'm rarely away from a USB for longer than 2 hours, the kit has 2 batteries, and can charge mobile in the PCC. My main issue was the parts that need some regular replacing. It's fantastic to hear a carto holds ~1ish, I was expecting them to hold 3-5mL (volumes....bleh) and using upwards of 3-5/day. Half of the ecig purchase was to drop the costs, smokes are around 11$/pack here. Oof.

You guys are a fantastic bunch, thanks for the help so quick. I'm hoping my package gets here soon, the disposables don't taste great (only have Smoke NV close to home) or give a consistent pull, looking forward to trying different flavours.

I'm looking at DIY fluids, but I think I'll hold off on that until I get more comfortable with the whole process and tastes.

Time to go poking around and try to absorb some of the information. Again, this seems like a great place, finding so much info in one website (and with userbase not a shop) is making the transition/learning easier.

I use a Bloog and love it. I tried their filled carto's and when I liked the flavor I bought the juice to refill...it's nice having the flavor and nic content on the outside, I always know what's in them ;) I have not had any problems with any of the parts and they have awesome customer service. You might go look at their forum page as they have one here...someone has probably already asked the same questions you have.

Considering I'm a fairly dedicated smoker, taking a few minutes to fill a carto isn't a big deal. I am a creature of habits so it's just a new routine I'll get into. I'm pretty sure everyone answered my questions (and some unasked ones), the last one I had was going to be about letting a cartomizer run dry (ansdwered) but made me think; Is there an easy way to tell how much is left if it's an opaque casing, or is it something I'll just get a feel/taste for it with time? As always, thank everyone for their help. Even though I'd already made the purchase I hadn't explored all the tidbits of vaping, I'm just excited to not be coughing up grey bits any more.

edit: I've been poking around the forums and just ran across the bloog section, tons of info there thanks for the heads up.

At first you may not be able to tell when it's time to top off a carto because your taste buds are kinda shot from smoking, and you don't yet know what a carto that needs topping off tastes like. Basically it'll start tasting a bit burned and the vapor production will drop off a bit. If you let it go way too long it'll taste really burned and nasty and will likely ruin that carto. At first I'd suggest topping off more often than you need to so you don't let it run dry. After a while it becomes second nature to know when it needs it.
