Been vaping for about a month and i think im ready to get into rebuildables. Want to get a kayfun lite plus because i have heard they are pretty easy to build on and also work great. Im a poor college kid so spending $100 for it is kind of out of the question so im probably going to end up buying a russian 91%. I was wondering if the ones from fasttech are even worth buying. Ive heard there stuff is crap but $26 is pretty enticing. Also if anyone could show me a good video on building with the Russian 91% that would be very helpful. Any other tips for someone trying to build for the first time would also be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at the flash-e-Vapor V2 on fastech. I have both the original and this clone. For $25 you'd be hard pressed to find a better rba. Although not an exact 1:1 clone, the ft flashi vapes as well as the original and is well built. The Russian or Kayfun are a great choice to, as long as it is by a decent clone maker. 101vape carries a great selection of rba clones and have fast shipping and Fasttech like prices.

check out the micro coil build thread for a great way to build. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...271-micro-coils-increase-vapor-flavor-th.html

if you are poor and just starting out on rebuilds, kayfun is worse choice you can make. Both Kayfun or Russian are expensive compared to other toppers. Also, there are NOT the easiest ones to build. Just look at how many parts go into building them.
I would suggest getting IGO-L or IGO-W for dripping. They are easiest to build and provide as good (if not better) as Kayfun. If you want a RBA tank, RSST or AGI is solid choice.

So you can spend $15 on IGO and start coiling in few days. Or spend $25 and wait a month and hope for the best.

Keep it simple. :)

I started on an original Phoenix. (aka M4 at Fasttech) Wanna talk budget? How about $3.75, shipped!

https://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10004524/1346104-m4-rda-rebuildable-dripping-atomizer

It's easy to build and it's got a screw on top. These grommet setups are a PITA!

Later when you get a feel for it try the EH Pro Trident from

Ehpro Trident rebuildable dripping atomizer from Aqua Vapor eCig North Carolina

Use coupon code "switch", 10% off

My Trident is truly awesome. Adjustable center pin, good contacts, well made. Adjustable airflow which is really awesome. Very sweet. :)

Like others have said you're inquiring about the Kayfun and the Russian might best be future projects. Stick to simple first IMHO.

I have a kayfun 3.1 clone and its awesome (wish I had gotten the kayfun lite clone instead). The one I have is an hcigar clone though so I don't know how good the FT ones are.
But if you want something super simple and easy then I would agree with Zero in suggesting an Igo-L or Igo-W.
Personally I started out with the Igo-W and I have learned so much about rebuildables through my experience with it.

Well there's coil and wick, just like any other RBA. Am I missing something?

Or are you talking about the pieces that make up the atty itself? In that case, it's like putting together lego. I have a much harder time building anything from ikea than I do disassembling and reassembling a kayfun.

And the kayfun is a solid choice. Very easy to build IMO. You can get an IGO-L or W if you want but if you want a tank the kayfun is great and really not much harder to build than either of those drippers.

And I started with an IGO-W and got a kayfun right after. Didn't have any difficulty building a coil on it at all.

Totally disagree with this, the worst choice would be a genesis style rba. The Russian was my first rba, and found it fairly simple to build. And every style of build I tried just worked. Sure there are some issues when going micro and cotton or hemp wick, getting the densities down, adjustment of coil over the air intake, the regular issues with any new build, but if you stick with the silica build like the special 8, it will vape quite well, micros and verticals and Mundy Magic wire, makes it vape even better, but that is for down the road. Worth every penny, and a decent clone can be had for much less.

yeap, it is a good point:
- Genesis is not simple - cannot recommend to be first RBA,
- Russian/Kayfun are hard to make bad , might be first RBA
- RDA - pls dont use it as first rebuildable. It is a great device and I use/like it but it requires some time to get to it...

All is strictly MO

as for how to rebuild: search on youtube - there are great guys and details explained.

Please elaborate?

Wicking isn't as finicky. Don't have to worry about flooding and dry burns. Nice big deck to build. Most have the eyelet's you can use to connect the leads. No fill holes to mess with. Less parts.

RDA's are the bees knees when it comes to easy-ness and simplicity.

I have the Russain 91% clone from fast tech and although the build quality is better in the real version.. There's really no difference in the vape. Russain 91% has some of the best flavor out there. For sure a steal. Also a plus for easy building - I've found a micro coil (28g) kanthal works best with sterile cotton (bought from CVS) through it.

I don't know you or your technical/electrical skills, but if you're a "poor college kid" do you have a multimeter? Do you have a ohm meter? Are you using your mod as the ohm meter? Stop now. I've been in this game for a long time and I still don't rebuild. I don't chase clouds as that's not the important part. Yes RBA's can provide great flavor but there is a risk. If you don't have the right knowledge and tools to do it right don't do it.

Definitely agree, you have to study the alternative before jumping the gun, IMO go for something inexpensive that will allow you the time to practice the correct way, so you might want to also gather all the tools needed to learn everything.

I was gonna say that RDA's are the cat-sas, but I guess bees-knees works

It's all about learning, not what ends up being best in the end. And, learning is a process - not an event.

I gatta say this ... sorry.
I laugh when I see threads on here that start out "I just got a KayFun, and it works great".
"Now how do I wrap a coil?"
