Hello all. Just recently started vaping on monday. My wife andbi went to a local shop and picked up some smokes in attempts to quit. She got a simple ego style battery with the disposable cart. I went with the Itaste MVP for the battery life and vv/vw. I really enjoy the MVP. thing hits like a champ but in the last two days I've almost used a small bottle of e-juice. Granted I've drank a little and chain vaped a few times but it seems excessive
I'm using the Iclear 30 and burning at 8.5w and I get good cape but the tank doesn't last but a day. Any suggestions on other carts that would fix this? I like the amount of vapor and the throat hit but its gonna hurt the wallet at this rate. Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to ECF! The iClear 30 only has a 3mL capacity which is not very much to go through in a day, so that seems completely normal. On a slow day I will go through 5 mL. So, you have a couple of options:

1) Move to a single coil tank at a higher resistance which I think will be futile because you'll just chain Vape more to get the same amount. If you're interested in learning how to build your own coils, a Kayfun might be the next step for you.

2) Find a cheaper e-juice company like ITC Vapes.

3) Start DIY juice. This is as cheap as it gets.

Good luck!

I can use a 10mil bottle in a day. Any claims anyone makes about a bottle being equivalent to however many cigarettes is usually a gross exaggeration. The only thing you need to do is adjust your expectations and find a juice supplier at a price you can live with. I would suggest giving Mt. Baker a try for the best combo of price and quality I've found.

I agree, sounds like you are vaping about 5ml per day (considering your said a small bottle), that's does appear excessive to me. I go through between 8-12ml per day depending on how busy my day is.

I am not familiar with the i-Clear so I don't know how much it burns through, but probably similar to the Kanger EVODs.

You may want to check into some on-line juice producers for better prices.

I DIY and can generally produce about 10ml of juice for less than a dollar, not including the initial up front cost for the hardware needed. There is a section here dedicated to DIY so you might want to stop by and do some reading.

Good luck and enjoy!

Hello!

Yes, the iClear30 is thirsty. I also happen to think it is terrible compared to many others.

However, even 5ml a day at our prices (UK) would be 20-30% of the price of a pack of cigarettes.

Agree with dj ^^^ Both my iClear30 and iClear16 "slurp" through juice fairly quickly. They're not my preferred tanks, but I will play with the 16 occasionally when I'm bored and looking for a different vape experience. Also find that my mini ProTank 2 will (appear to) consume juice more quickly than my normal EVODs. (Mini PT2 and EVODs are bottom single coils)

As a side note, on a vape-heavy day for me, I could go through 6-10 ml/day. I like to switch flavors a lot, and I vape at my office as well as at home. Heck, if I wasn't trying to type, I'd have my mod in my one hand :D

Mt Baker Vapor has pretty decent juice for its price (< $0.35/ml). I'm going to try my hand at DIY (better go well because I made a good-sized investment in my startup needs - LOL) Once I get past the initial investment (yeah, I say that with my gear too) I should start coming out ahead (or at least not as far behind!)

Wow thanks for the fast replies! I say a small bottle (maybe 10ml). I've filled my tank 2-3 times now and still have enough left for a full refill. I do puff on mine frequently throughout the day (the new hasn't wore off). Thanks for all the help! Really enjoying this thing and I haven't had a cigarette since I got it so its working. $7.00 for three days is still cheaper than a pack of smokes so I'm ahead already. I looked at the 30s tanks, good to know they are just as bad. I may get a protank as a secondary for another flavor and see that works for me.

Since no one has addressed this yet. What nicotine level are you at? You may be burning up your juice because your body feels like its not getting enough nicotine like when you are on cigs.

I had that problem when I first started. I was at 12mg but used to smoke 1 pack of Camel Blues (Lights) a day. I would go through a lot of ejuice a day. Then I move up to 18mg and would use far less ejuice I would take a couple of puffs and feel satisfied.

I dont think that jumping into a Kayfun is going to help you seeing as you just started. Dealing with building your own coils and what not may be overwelming same with the DIY.

I would try getting the Nic level right first then move into the other aspects of vaping.

I believe I got 12mg. I used to either smoke a pack a day or dip a can a day. I'll try the 18. Like I said I also just enjoy the experience and convenience of it so that Probly doesn't help with the usage. I will say though. Since I pulled it from the box Monday around lunch. My battery light is still green. Haven't even done my first charge

:thumb: This.

General recommendations for nic concentration comparable to number of cigarettes smoked per day:

10 cigs/day = 6 mg nic
20 cigs/day = 12 mg
30 cigs/day = 18 mg
40 cigs/day = 24 mg

I'm using about 5ml per day so far (started vaping on Monday as well). I can't vape openly at work so I don't hit it hard or often during the day. I do hit it constantly in the car and at home though. FWIW, I'm using a Smok ARO BCT and a Vivi Nova and use 24mg nic liquid. It's a little strong but definitely feeds the jones. I'd probably be using more juice if I was at 18mg. I would most certainly be using more at 12mg.

Hey Minnis12, I hope you and the wife manage to stick with it and quit the stinkys for good! Yeah, like Cullin Kin says; Try out something that uses single coils like the Evod clearomizers or Protank 2. You can try lower resistance coils to see if that gives you what you want. Anyway, if you were drinking and chain vapin that's not so bad. Definitely check out some liquids online. You'll economize a bunch.
