I'm new to vaping, since this past Saturday. I know, who picks a holiday weekend to quit smoking?! I have been a ppd smoker for over 20+ years and I want to be done. At a local vape shop, on the recommendation of a friend, I purchased a Kanger T3s and a ego pass-thru battery. I'm so not technical so I don't know what my battery rating is but I believe my carts for the Kanger are 2.5ohms (that's what's on the refill box).

Here are my issues...
*randomly, I will get juice in my mouth...eek! How do I stop this? I have made SURE I didn't put juice in the tube when filling. It may happen once in every 10 drags.
*I'm REALLY missing the look/feel of an analog in my finger/mouth. I was thinking of purchasing an Apollo starter set and refill the carts with my own juice. Any thoughts/recommendations ??

I just want it to look and feel like I'm smoking... the giant silver bullet is throwing me off. The psychological battle will be the hardest to win!!!

Would love feedback, suggestions, tips.
Thanks!

Start with, congrats.
If your puffing pretty solid, you can get condensation build up in the mouthpiece pretty quick, i don't have any experience with t3s to help here. As far as cig-a-likes, the reality is most people find themselves moving up to an ego pretty quickly after getting them so you've sort of skipped a rather expensive learning experience already. If the "feel" is really holding you back, my personal recommendation is to grab the cheapest one you can find because i really believe you'll want the added benefits of the ego pretty quickly. Just taken from my experience. Good luck and i'm sure more people will chime in soon with more info for you.

welcome to ecf, boston!

haven't used the T3s myself, but i would suspect that what you're getting in your mouth is condensation from the liquid after it's been vaporized. if your T3 has a clearish drip tip, you'll see the condensation as little droplets on the inside of the drip tip. i usually turn my PV upside down to let that little bit dribble out, or take a tissue/napkin/paper towel and twist it up and stick it into the drip tip to remove that exess condensation.

as to the look/feel of an analog - yeah i think quite a few ppl who switch want that look/feel in the beginning. just as many also want a tobacco flavor to start. that will pass. soon you'll be drooling over pics of other ppls PVs, wanting the newest and shiniest vaporizers out there! i haven't used a cig-a-like in years, long ago back in the days when a 510 joye cigalike was basically the only thing out there. now i can't imagine using something that small. if you really want to go that route, i hear the eRoll is a good choice.

good luck on your vaping adventure!

It will be hard to duplicate the sense of smoking, but you just have to keep in the forefront of your mind; Vaping is saving your life (and lungs - not perfect but huge improvement).

That said, find the best delivery system (for you) and work on managing nicotene dosage/day (for you).

If you want to simulate smoking i'd suggest some of the better tobacco juices, with a good throat hit...

It may not be smoking, but its not patches either.

Welcome to the group.

First of all congrats on trying to quit!!! It's a step in the right direction. :toast:

I smoked about 1/2 ppd for the past year and smoked 1 ppd for about 26 years before that. I have been vaping for about 1 month and started with a cig-a-like (Electronic Cigarettes | V2 Cigs). I too was looking for the look/feel of a real cig. This lasted for about 1 week and then I was looking for more. The cig-a-like just didn't taste that good, even with me filling blank cartos with different juices, and they also didn't last very long. I even tried 'tanks' to see if the flavor got better. It did, but felt I was still missing out.
I now have an eGo vv 900mah, an eGo vv 650mah, 3 EVODS, 1 T3s, 1 mini T3s, 1 MT3s, a ProTank2 (Kanger fan? I think so :)) and an atomizer for taste testing. There are about 15 different juices sitting in my cabinet along with the some of the above items, 2 x cig-a-like batteries, a box of blank cartos and some 'tanks'. (I really need a better place for all this stuff!!)
I still have my cig-a-like as a fallback and every now and then I take a stroll down memory lane and remember why I switched so quickly.

As stated by others, the condensation happens, especially when 'chain vaping'. Take a couple of hits and put the thing down :smokie:. Make sure the atomizer, the part that screws into the base of the T3s is tight and all of the rubber grommets are in place. I have found that if this is loose juice tends to 'build up' and I get a shot in the mouth.

I never thought to try anything that resembled analog. I've seen them and thought they were expensive gimmicks. When I decided to try vaping, I searched Yelp for shops in my area. I found a shop with just about all 5 star reviews so I went. Very nice people and very helpful. I did find, at first, I was chain vaping and getting condensation inside the mouthpiece. With a bit of trial and error, I've figured out (for me) that I'm vaping too much when I start seeing condensation. A couple hits and I stop for a bit and then a couple more hits if I feel the need. While watching TV, I like to hold my PV. I'm new and I'm sure that will stop in time. I think it's because I'm use to holding an analog.
