Hi everybody! I haven't started to vap yet, I just ordered a kit today. I have been smoking for about 47 years now, so I am truly hoping this will cure me, or at the very least cut down my smoking habit (1 pack a day). Both my parents died last year from lung cancer, so I know I need to quit, but nothing else has worked so far. I got my fingers crossed.

Just-a-nobody... Welcome to ECF and vaping. I hope it works for you as well as it did for me. I have only been vaping for a little over a month, (was 2 pack-a-day for 25 years) and I can't imagine ever going back.
You have definitely come to the right place for getting started. Tons of great info and people here. It's a little bit of trial and error at first, especially in finding the right juices, but for me once I found the right stuff, the analogs just didn't cut it anymore.
The last time I thought I really wanted one (3-4 weeks ago) I got about three hits into it and realized how horrible it tasted and how little I was feeling from it.
In the past when I had "quit" (even for only a few hours) I could feel the very first hit rushing through my body and it just drew me back in. After e-cigs, I get nothing.
For me, I like to keep a nic level slightly higher than I got from the analogs for just this reason. Now I know even if I do smoke, it's not gonna do anything for me so what's the point. Everyone has different experiences though, which is exactly why this forum is so great. So again.. Welcome (and we'll keep our fingers crossed for you too).

BTW: What kit did you order? Have you ordered juices?

Thanks for the welcome highping, it's a pleasure to be here. I have been reading a lot of great info in this forum, I can't wait to get started. Actually, I am so excited that I have been smoking analogs like they are going out of style...not good..ohh welll...lol.

I really screwed up when I ordered my first e-cig, it's called the Smart Smoker. I have no idea what I ordered, but I intended to try their trial offer for free, and before I knew it, I had ordered not one starter kit, but somehow ordered two.

However, I bought a 510 today, because it sounds like that will come sooner, and I can't wait to start. I also ordered the 36 mg nicotine coffee flavored juice. I was wondering if I could cut the juice down with water if it proves too strong, that is until I get the 0 mg juice?

JMO, but the 36mg will knock the craving out. From what I've read it might take that mg nicotine to match up drag for drag on an analog, something about the absorption of vaped nicotine compared to burning tobacco. I chain vape 36mg and haven't killed myself yet

I've smoked for over 30 years and 24 mg gives me a headache when I vape to long. But I "hot box" 18 mg, so I guess 24 mg is where I need to be.

eewww, I've heard bad things about those "free" trials. They rake you in with the free kit then sign you up for a monthly billing for like 20 carts. You might wanna check to make sure you're not on the hook for some reoccurring charge to your bank card.

I wouldn't cut with water. Use PG (propylene glycol) or VG (vegetable glycerin). You can get VG from a craft/baking store (used for making icing) or PG from a farm supply store. Water will probably make it too thin. If you do use water though make sure it's distilled. I would be careful vaping strait 36 as a new user. If you do, just take a couple hits and give it a few minutes to see how you react.

I've been vaping about three weeks now. I got my first PV on a Friday, and vaped the whole weekend without a cigarette. Monday, went to work, and vaped out both my batteries, so had to bum a cigarette. Wow, what a rush! Didn't realize I wasn't getting the full rush of cigarettes. I bought a pack to survive the commute home, and also bought an extra battery. Well, that one pack lasted me 5 days (was a pack-a-day before), and I haven't smoked an analog since. I do get the urge from time to time, but so far the PV has been sufficient to get me over the urge. If I really need a good hit, I'll use a fresh battery/cart to make sure I get it. :)

Best of luck to you, and don't give up.

I had the same experience when I started, so I kept increasing my nic level and testing the effects of analogs until I got to a level that I could smoke an entire analog and not feel a thing. It ended up being about 20mg+ for me.
A few weeks ago it had been at least a week since my last analog, so I smoked one just to see and got nothing (except a terrible after taste). I had to hit my PV when I was done with it to get my fix and try to flush that taste out.
