I started vaping a couple days ago mostly by accident. I work at a gas station, and we recently started carrying njoy Kings. Being an avid smoker, I thought it would be neat to give an e cigarette a try. I bought one, used it throughout the the day, and found that I really didn't have any inclination to smoke real cigarettes...

I didn't buy the NJOY King with the idea to quit smoking, but since I planned on quitting before I hit 30, and since the NJOY King worked so well, I did a little googling after work, which of course led me to ECF. I read a good amount and ordered some gear (should arrive Monday), and in the meantime have been real cigarette free and happily puffing away on (and pouring money into) NJOY Kings.

So, new vapers, how did you discover vaping, and how did you come to it?

Saw one in a smoke shop while I was picking up a carton last March. Thought about it smoking that carton and decided to buy one the next time I went to get another carton. Ended up buying one for my Dad as well.

The first time didn't work out so well. The carts were terrible. Dad started vaping heavy and quit smoking and 9 months later talked me into giving it another try with better juice.

This time around has been wonderful :)

For me it was seeing all those ads on TV...you know the ones...everyones holding a look like a real Cig, e-cig. That got me to wondering...then an online friend started talking about Smoke Stix so started Googling for reviews for that...most reviewers said stay away from those and try the V2 Or Greensmoke...Googled those 2 brands and was convinced V2 was the way to go...was JUST FIXING to make the purchase when I decided to read one more review found on Google... Google's link lead me to this site...LOL...I read and read on here for days!! Who knew there was this whole other world out there that I didn't know existed! Just when I thought I was in way over my head, I made my first post on here asking for help...and there you go. Being a member of this Forum, I'm sure you already know how helpful everyone is towards Newbies...with lots of great advice from different people, I finally was able to chose a good set up and start Vaping.

I saw e-cigs up close last year when friends who were heavy smokers gave it a shot. Since where I come from doesn't have the single sticks, so instead they sold big mod that are quite pricey to start off with.

I was vehemently against it originally until a very close friend and also a rugby team mate (who also thought vaping was stupid) started telling me bout the cons. Like he started being fitter, didn't smell like smoke every night and blah blah blah... (both of use were heavy smokers racking up 20-30 sticks when we hang out).

So I did my research and mind you a lot of info online is either old wives tales or ....ING SALES PROPAGANDA! Which really annoyed me I started asking others. And fortunately had a friend lend me a Lambo tube along with a VVN tank to start off with. I thought why not, I was a the point where I just wanted to stop/considerably reduce smoking. I have tried everything from patches or pills. I gave it a try for a week and went out to buy my own PV after that and have been super happy about it. I still smoke occasionally especially when hanging out with friends (I have to bum theirs!) and get sick after 1/2 sticks. But all in all am super happy that I picked up vaping and have been able to tinker with it.

I got stuck one time too many in Walmart with "19 million screeching rug rats, not a one of who parents was doing a DARNED THING to even TRY to control them." I had several sets of tubes in my ears as a kid; and, their high pitched noises (as well as key cutting machines) feel kind of like nails being driven into my ear drums!!! I'm NEVER in a good mood in WalMart (unless I'm there at 3am...) or places like McDonald's. I constantly feel like a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs... At close to 60, much of my smoking life was spent being able to smoke whenever and wherever I felt like it. The rabid anti-smoker crowd lost the last shred of their credibility to me after one of them went through one of their "wheeze, gasp, choke" routines in response to just SEEING an UNLIT half of a cigarette hanging out of my mouth - from about THIRTY + FEET AWAY!!!

I'd seen the fake cigs at the smoke shop where I bought my papers; and, seen the "Blu" "time to take our freedom back" commercials on tv; so, I swore to myself that I was going to pick up one of the plastic cigs my regular tobacco store sold, the next time I was over in Shawnee. I only intended to use it in places where I couldn't otherwise "get my fix." I'm sitting on right around 1,000 pounds of real, untreated, leaf tobacco; and, had absolutely ZERO intention of actually switching. I did upgrade rather quickly to a 650mA battery/CE4 "starter kit," after coming within an 1/8th of an inch of reflexively lighting the look-alike; and, being generally disappointed with the short battery life, hassle of refilling the "filters," etc. THEN, I had one of my occasional flare-ups of arthritus (or something really similar) in my hands; and, rather than rolling despite the pain, I got lazy and just vaped, instead. BIG MISTAKE, at least for me!!! When my hands straightened back out and I went back to rolling, my analogs tasted absolutely HORRIBLE to me!!! LOL, That's why I picked "Kidnapped" for a username. :p Since I was never consciously switching, I didn't make any note of a "last analog date;" but, it was about a month ago; and, I get the feeling that they'd taste even worse than the last couple of puffs I managed to choke down before I gave up and just put it out.

Blue behind the counter aat Walgreens and various internet ads over time. Eventually landed here and made the switch with some vanilla from puresmokers in a Bud carto. Tobacco tastes nasty now with one exception, a fresh Cuban Panetela that I was gifted. Not even a cigar smoker but that was special. And rare. Happy with my DIY juice in a Kanger on a Vamo now.

Walgreens drug store display got me interested. I started with Finiti starter kit, then NJOY, then Apollo starter kit with fillable cartomizers. It's been a very interesting intro! I currently am using a Groove as my go to mod and switch to a Vamo, my first mod, during charging. I use Kanger T2 clearonizers and am currently on a best juice hunt. USA made juice being my first criteria. All this in a couple of months but, as I just retired, I've got plenty of time on my hands. I found one of my chief enjoyments is helping others to get clued in on this vaping thing.....now that's fun. I'm also researching the web to help a buddy set up a vaping display in his store. It was only three months ago that I had no idea what vaping was.

My wife was the one who got me into it. She had purchased 2 starter kits from victory, through an intermediary. Luckily we didn't get scammed, cuz I know sometimes there are some fishy deals out there. Got it in more than a month later. The cartomizers it came with said tobacco flavored, then I tried one and found it very sweet tasting. I then went online and started looking into vaping. Got a headache the first day seeing all the info out there :). I got lucky and found a local shop (2 actually) nearby which surprised me. My section of the state is the least populated. They call us the 'quiet corner'. Anyway, got some decent advice from the local shop. Bought some liquid and started using blu carts and refilling them. I actually liked the pipe tobacco flavor they had so went online to find their source. Bought some Juice from them online. Then started looking to get a better gear setup. Found this site(yay) and withing 20 minutes had 6 people offer up solid advice on my next step. Sometime this week I will be getting a 400 Mah Spinner with a couple of evods to try out. If this setup works well for me, I will start trying out different juices, but right now I like the tobacco ones. My wife didn't feel comfortable with the victory;she needs one that feels more like a real cig. I bought her an njoy to try,and she liked the fact that it felt more like an analog. Found a place that sells soft cartos, and I am getting her the volcano. 2 batts and the pcc seem like agood fit for her. And the soft cartos feel more analog to her. So hopefully (fingers crossed) within a month our house will be analog free. :)

I had promised my wife I was going to try to quit smoking again after the 2012 presidential election. (Elections are a stressful time for me work-wise, and didn't really want to try during that one) Decided to buy a Blu kit from Walgreen's to help me quit. I had tried an ilumacigs kit a few years before, and decided that if they had improved, I might be able to quite with the Blu kit. Tried the blu's and managed not to smoke for several days, but the cost was driving me crazy. Decided to look into refilling my blu carto's and found Johnson Creek. Had a blu battery die the next day, so I ordered the Vea kit from JC. Within a week or so of using the Vea, I found ECF, and moved up to EGO's and clearomizers. Then VV Ego's (Spinner), then on to my current setups: eVic with a VAMO backup, and a 1100 ego twist extra backup.

My last cigarette was smoked around 4:30 pm on 11-16-2012, and I have not had one since.

There's been some big discussions about it in general, and I joined the electronic cigarette reddit subforum for a while, lurking to see what to get, etc. I then picked up my first kit about two months ago, and I'm rocking four mods, several tank systems, an RBA, and multiple juices to try out, still. Delicious!

I have a friend that was posting on FB nonstop about his latest equipment, juices and how long it had been since his last "analog". Did some Google searches and found a vape shop near me, thought "I should go and check that out when I get time". Well, I never got time until I was looking for a paint store at work one day and wound up two doors down from the vape store...went in, got my Ego Passthrough, charger, 10ml juice and a Ce5 V3 clearomiser...Never smoked again! Vape On! What are you waiting for in the mail? Why don't you go to a local B&M?

I am not a smoker and never have been. I went with a coworker to Pink Spot here in Vegas last January. He wanted to quick smoking so I agreed to provide the transportation. We each ended up buying an ego c-twist starter kit as well as some juices. I was hooked on the taste. I read that vaping is not for non-smokers but decided that I could do what I wanted. So I did a lot of reading and went on a mission...get as many friends to stop smoking as I could.

My hat is off to you sir. Keep up the good work.

I don't watch television much at all, but I go into my junk folder occasionally and toss out the spam....I was seeing so many "Free Offer for E-cig" emails that one day I decided to search the internet and find out what all that was about.....which of course led me to this place....which was like falling down the rabbit hole....lol....and here I am....
