Hello all,

I've been vaping for a couple of month now, and have been using the Joytech AIO Box. It's a cheap one, but I had to be sure it was something for me, before taking my big wallet in use.

Here after a month I've met some issues about the vapor.. The first month went fine, and the vapor worked well. The coil lasted over a month before I had to buy more. I got 5 coils for a low price of money at my local vapor store, but after just a couple of month I just havn't got them to work probably.. Even though I drip some e-liqued in the coil and wait a few minutes before vaping I just can't get it to work probably. The awful burned taste comes pretty quickly after just 2 or 3 vapes.. First I thought the battery might have gone low on power, so I charged it up, but it didn't work. It seems like there's no power for the coil to say these lovely 'Qqqrr' when clicking the fire button.

Anyone else had problem with this vapor, and/or what can I do to check if it's done and need to be replaced?

I've tried different methods to drip the coil, and none of them seemed to work..

Best regards,
The new vapor

Hi Gerner & welcome
If the 1st coil worked well but the next bunch won't then something has likely changed. First possibility is that those "cheap" coils are clones and are not of the same quality as your first one. Next possibility is the juice if you've changed to a different one as you may have switched to a juice with a higher VG content. VG is quite thick and some coils don't handle it well. Did you change the type of coils you purchased possibly for ones with a lower resistance as these can lead to higher vaping temps. Only other thing I can think of is your method of priming. It is usually best, even with dripping directly onto the coil to give it at least 10 minutes for the wick to fully soak up the juice and then to make your first vapes short and tentative.

That said if you haven't scorched your coils too badly they may still be useable. Sometimes roughing up or even poking small holes into (not through) the wicking that you can see through the side juice holes in the coil can promote better wicking. I'd save this though for the last ditch effort because taken too far it is easy to make them leak.

While I do not own the AIO I have used many coils for many tanks. I agree with Smoketoomuch- the coils may be of cheaper quality and or what is the resistance of the coil as opposed what you were originally using? Say you had a .5Ω coil and now you are using a .25Ω that newer coil will burn hotter and change the flavor. Also are you using the same eliquid? A higher VG has a harder time wicking because it is thicker juice.
I agree with prime the coil better, and let it sit longer, Many times I install a new coil at night to soak in better.
The AIO does not have wattage control, so you can't ramp up and break in your coil slowly, and try inhaling on the coil without pushing the button, to make sure you are getting juice to the coil.

It's original coils from Joyetech:

I've tried different methods for priming.
1. Priming the could from the top (look at the picture) - Waiting more than an hour before using. When first use I've done a few inhales with no power.
2. No priming at all (As the lady in the vapor-shop did), and just shaking it and inhale a bunch of time with no power.
3. Priming as I've done in the first post.
4. Priming with a bit more liquid, but the first 10 - 15 inhales had a lot of liquid in it..

I primed my current coil for a bout 1 hour ago, and was now vaping. The taste wasn't burned, but now the coil doesn't say the normal 'qqrr' sound..

The liquid is the same brand, but with higher nicotine (12 instead of 6), but I don't know if this can cause the problem?

Is the .6Ω resistance the same or the coils the same resistance as your new ones?
I believe the Joyetech Cubis coils work for the AIO and you can get that in 1.0Ω, maybe a much better vape for you as it is above Ω and not taste so harsh!
Also high nic like 12 will taste harsh! Try to keep with subΩ coils at say .6Ω no higher than 6 nic- you could use the 12 nic with an 1.0Ω coil

Liquid is irrelevant, unless it's not properly made.

I would look at the combination of coil resistance and the fact you can't choose the power.

Cubis/AIO coils are one of the worst I have had the displeasure of using. These BF coils are mostly BS although the 0.6ohm seems fairly trouble free.

Have you only had the 0.6?

Ohh, so nicotine could be the problem?
The problem came after I've changed the liquid for a higher amount of nicotine..

Always used the same coil. :)

That is not usually a problem. Now, if you bought some bad e-liquid that would be different.
The nicotine level is not relevant unless the vapor is too harsh or killing your throat.

He said he was originally using 6 nic and now the same liquid in 12 nic- Higher nic can cause a harsher hit right, at least that has been my experience especially on a sub ohm coil.

Yes, sure, but the O.P. said "awful burned taste".... not "it's blowing my head off, dudes"... :)

Welcome and glad you joined. Might consider a Eleaf Istick 30 or 40TC with a RDA. With RDA's they are simple and cost effective. Could check out You tube instructions etc.. Some Joytech products are problematical.

I started with an eGo AIO. What I did was drop ejuice into the coil centre and around the edge wait until it seeps in a bit then blow it down inside. Rinse and repeat until a little comes out the bottom. I was careful not to get it in my mouth and had a paper towel to wipe things off. It worked well for me using the .6 ohm coils.
