So I've begun Quitting real cigs with a Vaporking, and I have a few questions about its maintenance and specifically battery care- i did perform a few searches but was unable to find satisfactory answers, so here it goes.

I purchased the PCC along with a few sets of cartomizers (cappucinno which i heard was good, and i got the bar drink pack? mainly i was curious to what Kahlua and lager tasted like...) as well as the Wall Charger.

Anyway, my main concerns are for the battery life and the PCC. When would I want to actually use the PCC to charge my battery? Mainly i cant find anywhere what type of battery the VK uses, I dont think its an LI-ion and im assuming its nickel cadium, but if anyone has specifics on that i would absolutely love to know because they have very different charging procedures.

Additionally, I would probabaly only vape, say once an hour for 10 minutes. (this is a rough estimate based on my cig habit) How long woult my manual battery last at that rate? The specs I've seen state that the battery life is around 4 hours, but what exactly does this mean? Is this 4 hours of consistent vape usage, thereby my vaping would yield me around a 24 hour life cycle?

Also, if it only lasts 4-6 hours, and I'm out all day, would using the PCC in between uses damage the battery life of the unit? Would it be best to get another battery and keep one in the PCC untill the other died, then swap them? Also, does the VK PCC have a charging cut off when the battery is fully charged?

It should be comming in today, assuming the raging "snownado" here in NY doesent shut down the USPS. I assume i should give the battery a nice charge when it gets here, but again, if its a LI-ion battery in there then that's not necessary...

I know this is a long post, but I'm pretty excited about trying my new vape out and want to make sure i have all my information correct. Thanks for any information you guys can give me, i really appreciate it.

I always carry my PCC with me, and it hasn't let me down.

My batteries always come more or less fully charged, so it's been a nice ride.

I keep one battery with me, and one in the PCC. That way, I can go all day without any hassles. Your PCC will know when to stop charging, so it's a no hassle, no brainer.

Shortie batteries last me about 2 hours going at it all the time....Regulars much longer, and XL's pretty much all day.

I am sure you will be fine. Hope that helps, and let me know if I can help any further. Please feel free to post in the Vapor4Life subforums as well.

Enjoy, it gets better every day!

I also use an 808 (basically what your VK is).

I have 2 300mah batts and a 280mah batt. The 280 makes the entire unit the same length as an analog 100, the 300's are a little longer.

I found that the 280 would last me for about 4 to 5 hours of moderate vaping (maybe 1 "smoking session" and the occaisional vape an hour)

The 300's seem to last about an hour longer for me.

I just got my PCC, so I cant give any info on how to use it reliably, but I can say, plug it in and let it charge until it is full right away, it takes quite a while to get a full charge on that sucker

I carry my PCC in my pocket with my spare bat when one dies i swap them out. I keep a PT at my desk for the i need nic moments and use the batteries when i go on break (this is 2x a day now). I said the same thing i will use it once an hour for 10 minutes but that didn't last long :S it might as well be glued to my lips. you will find yourself going on breaks less often and just using it at your desk (if permitted) just use the excuse i did when i told my boss about it. I wont go out as much so i can get more done.

The story goes that lithiums actually last longest at about a 40% charge - try a search for "storing lithium ion batteries". This is why you might notice laptops and cellphones that actually get used don't die as fast as (or at least, no sooner than) those left sitting on a charger 24/7.

I notice my 808's PCC appears relatively 'dumb', or at least, eager to cycle - the battery-charging indicator will cycle on and off for as long as a battery is in it. This is in line with some other talk I've lurked-upon about battery-killing PCCs on other models, so it's probably a good idea to disconnect the battery when it's obviously charged - at the end of the day or in the morning say; if you're actually using it you'll likely have another battery to swap in anyway, and with my batteries there's plenty of room to one in the PCC disconnected and flipped around (LED towards the charging cup).

As to keeping the PCC alive - if there's a lithium in there (and I'm sure there is), the same applies; try to suck it down about halfway if you're going to throw it in the closet and not use it until the next time you're out.

[Of course, I have no anecdotal evidence that this conclusively works, but we'll see how long it takes for mine to clunk out...]

Assuming ecig batteries come with a storage charge (that magic 40% number), this also means you don't want to immediately charge up your spare when you receive it if you're going to keep a spare in the cabinet. But if your batteries came 'tested' by the local vendor I imagine they're going to be topped up all the way.

(They hate deep discharge as much as overcharging, but in theory the low-battery cutoff - when it blinks at you and you go 'aww' - should be tuned for maximum life. Try to resist the urge to let it rest and then draw it down further when it 'recovers', unless you're desperate.)

Thanks guys, all great advice. I have to day, i absolutely love this thing, havent tried another brand yet, but the vapor is thick and staves off my analog cravings perfectly. Im hoping ill be able to smoke it in work, but we shall see about that. Also, ive been ordering off of Vforlife, their customer service seems great ( I requested a single logo battery with my PCC and got it) as well as getting a 7 free cartomizers with my order. A few of you had concerns about where i ordered from... is there a better site with potentially better flavors as well? I have to say the peach and cappuccino is pretty damn good, as are the cocktail sampler (even though the 24 mg carts are a bit strong).
18 seems to be good for me, but i get a headache if i do it too much, 11 is nice but doesent kill my craving... is there anyone that sells a 14 or 15?

The concern posted is that there is not only vapor4life which sells the Vapor King, but also a website called VAPORKINGS, and also a site selling a different model completely called the Vapor King (i know, its confusing), so some were wondering which particular thing you bought is all.

I can only speak for Vapor4Life and VAPORKINGS as being reputable dealers.

Just got my vapor King today from vapor 4 Life. How long does cartridges usually last? Anyone know.
I've heard it said they're equivalent to about 15 cigarettes. I don't know how 'they' determined that figure. As for myself, I switch cartos too much (switching flavors) to get a clear idea of their longevity in my hands.

I was a heavy smoker and now Im a heavy vapor. I said to hell with the expense and ordered all the chargers and extras of everything. At first I only had two batteries and it was a hassle to keep one charged. I would use one up before the other charged. The batteries do come with a full charge from the supplier. I find it takes me four batteries to make it thru the day, but then in the evening I had to wait for one to get charged. Best thing I ever did was get a pass thru. Consistant heavy vapor and I love it. Hate the little box charger for mobile, but it does work well. Cant store full assembled cigs in it or sealed filters, only three unsealed and a charging battery. Im sure my short battery life is because I use manuals to get a heavy throat hit and lots of vapor. Cherry juice seems to clog the atomizer fairly rapidly but I like the cherry the best. Im the only one the smokes in the house and the family loves it now. I like no mess, no waste, and no chemicals other than nicotine. The maintenance is worth it for sure.
