Gotta be an optical illusion right?
It's on the intertube. It must be true!

Nope it's math. Of course!
Clearly a remainder left behind.
I know, I know, we all can sleep better tonight.![]()

I just made a Rough one out of paper, too. I had the same weird leftover that didn't fit perfectly, but it appears not to be an illusion. Gotta try it with a real Chocolate Bar now.![]()

nope....if you watch the bottom piece...as it goes up to fill in on the right side of the bar, the bottom sections lengthen to fit and close the gap to keep all pieces the same length. If you do what is shown in that YT vid...then the leftover piece if cut right will fill in that gap on the right side![]()
I still think the "gap" you talking about is because the pieces aren't cut on the precise angle as the one Maxx posted. I made another one by using measured lines, all equal widths, at 2x1 rectangles. It fits almost perfectly now when moved around, with exactly one piece left over. I just don't have the diagonal line cut the same.
Being an Animated GIF, I can't pause it to see any better.

Looney Tunes -- Round #2
I would like to try and pick three numbers but the spreadsheet will not pull up.
Would you kindly pick any three for me?
Just watch the left piece as it moves up to become the top right piece.....watch the bottom cut sections. There is no way mathematically that you can take an area, cut and shift and keep the same area with some left over. 10 by 10 will always be 100 sq no matter how you cut and rearrange![]()
