I know I am going to have to be a lot better about backing up from now on too. In response to if my drive gave any warning before... no not really, I had noticed a few times the fan sounded louder while running a lot of different programs/games but the day the hard drive died I had been using it all morning. I went to the grocery store and when I got home the computer was acting a bit laggy. I just figured that I needed to restart since I do not do it too often. It never restarted properly after that, I have Windows 8 so I got stuck in a loop of it trying to "prepare automatic recovery" and black death screen over an over. Got into my boot setting and ran a diagnosis and showed hard drive failure.

Kaibot,
I missed your reply yesterday. Thanks. Hopefully ur hubby can save it. A couple years ago on my old Win XP system, I got a "Boot loop" virus. It was easily fixed. Not sure if Win8 has that problem with viruses, but I found this for you. Windows 8 is stuck in a reboot loop. and this sounded similar to your problem too, Windows 8 stuck in automatic repair loop . I just googled Win 8 boot loop and Win 8 boot loop virus.

Hmmm, maybe I should of kept reading posts, as you may have fix it already. Oh well.

Hey KaiBot thanks for not beating me to my LUCKY and favorite #

I know I slept a little late this morning because I did not sleep well at all last night, I have no ideal why but I got a crazy case of hiccups that were very loud and strong so since I did not want to keep my husband awake forever since he had work in the morning I went to the couch... I did get my threeonethree though and so that is awesome!

Thank you so much for the info/links Afla, I will take a look at them and see if it might be my issue. I would not really say that I have "fixed" it, just took out broken hard-drive and re-installed a clean windows 8 on a spare one. I would love to get my other one working again since it has a much larger amount of storage space and a ton of files/pictures/videos and what not on it. I already set some cloud services up on this new one so going forward shouldn't be such a hassle. Plus I plan to TRY to remember to backup super important things to this external drive I have just sitting here.
