Hi everyone!

I bought a 510T starter kit and some extra stuff to get started about a month ago. It started out really well, but things are going downhill fast...

Here are my problems:

+ batteries seem to be dying really quickly,
+ Chargers seemingly not working right. This has been an issue from the jump - batteries that are dead show up as OK when inserted.
+ It's getting harder to get any vape from any of my parts combos.

My questions:

+ Is the 510T crap? Or did I buy a crap clone from a vendor that claims to sell authentic Joye merchandise?
+ Is the the norm - having to replace batteries every month?

Trying to figure this out, any help greatly appreciated.

Hi ChairmanNow and welcome to ECF. What type of PV and where did you purchase it?

Hi VE,

Thanks for the welcome.

I wasn't sure if it was kosher to call vendors out here - but to answer your question...

I got a "Joye 510-T" from TheVaporPro.com:

JOYE 510-T

I have their 220mAh batteries (they last for a few minutes now), and their 340mAh XL batteries (which now last for perhaps a couple of hours of routine use). I have a total of 5 batteries and two chargers, plus extra carts and atomizers. I'm using juice purchased from the same vendor.

Any suggestions? My wife is threatening to go back to combustibles :) so I need a workable e-cig solution.

Thanks!:(

Have you been cleaning the attys?

Make sure your battery and connection on the charger are both really clean. You can get a pin and try raising the center button on the battery a tiny bit to see if it's making a connection with the charger.

I have a 510 and I use it with boge 3.0 cartomizers. Never used the 510T. I don't use it a whole lot because batteries don't last real long but I get a good vape with it.

Is it still under warranty? It could be the battery or the USB cable. I'd pick up a box of boge 3.0 cartomizers and if you still don't see an improvement, maybe think about a bigger battery model. You can get a Riva ego for about $30 at liberty flights. It has a 2 month warranty.

Classic issue of wanting a cigarette look-alike and shorter battery life.

You asked "Is it crap?" I generally prefer to recommend something as opposed to recommending against something.

To answer your question, there are other, much better, setups that that you can choose from. The Riva, as mentioned above is a good battery with long times between recharging. Madvapes tanks have worked well for me.

All the best!

I don't think the Joye 510 is a bad pv. You get a good vape with it, except for battery life. I've never been a fan of tanks though, but with cartos it should improve your vape a lot.

Keep the 510 for short trips or if you're out and consider getting something with a bigger battery. Less frustration.

You get an hour per 100 mah so something like a Riva will last you 7-8 hours.

I've had a genuine Joye 510-T kit and have had no issues with the batteries, tanks or attys. The attys typically have lasted me at least through 30ml of vaping each. I have had issues with the wall charger that was included with my kit as the red light doesn't go out even though the batteries are charged according to my USB charger. I typically charge my batteries with a USB charger attached to my computer which works great. On occasion I have had to reinsert a battery or two into the USB charger, typically the larger battery, as the light showed green though the battery was not quite charged.

Overall I have found the genuine Joye 510-T kit to be quite good for what it is. It sounds like yours is giving you atypical results and I would probably contact the reseller in your instance.

They appear to be out.

Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510

You could email him and see if or when they'll be in stock. Sometimes they have them but haven't updated their website.

If you want to go up a notch, you can get an even bigger battery model here-

KGO 1100 mAh 2 battery kit

It's about $10 more but instead of a 750 mah battery, it's a 1100 battery.

Whatever kit you decide to get, get some cartomizers. Don't forget- cartomizers. With the big battery models you can use 2.0 boge and with the 510 3.0 boge.

Welcome, ChairmanNow.

I'm using a 510-T as I type and I have no complaint's. (Although the atty that came with it just died.)

I recently read that you should blow out the atty, toward the threaded end, when you change tanks. Can't hurt.

As for charge life, everybody is different. I think I'm getting stellar charge life. I go through two batts in a workday. That's pretty good for such a small battery.

Hang in there. There's a learning curve, and as you can tell, folks here will go out of their way to help!

Clean your batteries and chargers with a q-tip and alcohol. Let them dry really well before reconnecting. About week 2 for me, I noticed my chargers were beginning to look like a leaky car battery post. Got them good and clean, batteries charging back up normally, although battery #1 is on it's way out. It's down to about 1/2 life on a full charge at 3 weeks old.

Best wishes!

Yeah they can corrode..I noticed mine getting a bit green..after a good clean the first time all I do now is wipe out my carts/atomizers before putting them in the charger and wipe the charger with a tissue or paper towel..it seems to keep them clean :)
