Looks like putting a wick on the Pure is easy in this video.

Interesting the video is for an X1 tank but the atomizer head is laser etched X2. Also interesting he says you have to select Power mode before exiting the menu so makes me wonder if that one is for temp limiting or did I misunderstand something?

I'm undecided about it. I'll wait for more user reviews and after I find out how much the replacement heating cores are. I already have 3 months on my Uwell Crown coil and it's still going strong, so 3 months on the Pure is no advantage to me. The big question that will settle it for me is if it really tastes better than a traditional coil.
Hello Hyperspace, per your recommendation I bought a Crown and some 1.2 coils. I've been vaping the first coil sparsely about a month, it started tasting funky, I removed it and the coils themselves seem to be caked with some kind of black substance. I soaked it a day in vodka, it cleaned up some but not much. Do you have some special coil cleaning technique? Thanks.

I'm going to try your method.
No, I've got 4 of these that all leak, so IMO, not an o-ring. Unless I was lucky enough to get the same flaw on 4 tanks bought at different times from different vendors. Sometimes a lot, 2+ml, sometimes just puddling on the 510 connector of my mods. But, absolutely random. Frustrating.
I'll agree it is wicking, but I've yet to find the magical incantation needed to get this tank to play nice.

One more place to check I just thought of is the seal that's on the bottom of the chimney that mates up to the top of the atomizer on either RBA deck or pre-built, if it's not sealing well there juice would drip right through.

They seem to really be limiting their sales market by making an atomizer that can only be used with the ML Class and IPV5. Wonder why it can't be used with other mods that have a user settable TCR? Maybe the TCR is too low? Just thinking out loud.

It might limit sales of the tank but might increase sales of the ML, Q, and IPV5 since it produces better flavor than the average tank.

I'm still on my first coil and it's 3 months old. I haven't needed to clean it yet. I doubt I'll clean it if it ever needs it since it's already 3 months old. I'll toss it and put a new one in. Seems like vodka and dry burning should clean it up. If not I would toss it and put a new one in.

All this talk about coils jinxed mine. The wick started to plug up and spit juice in my mouth. I replaced it with a new coil. I don't know if they're worth trying to clean since you can buy a 4 pack of them for $8.00 at ecig.com. Even if you only got a month out of yours, that's just $2.00 a month.

TOP FILL TANK LEAKS - Here is a really simple solution that has consistently worked for me . The trick is making the tank think it was filled from the bottom, I.E. create a vacuum. Close the air intakes before top filling. After you have filled the tank and tightened the top turn the tank/mod upside down, open up the air holes, keep it up side down a bit, this creates a vacuum seal, turn right side up and start vaping. Your tank should not leak at all. P.S. I didn't invent this, I found various references to this after spending a lot of time searching the web.

I took a Crown off the shelf of shame.
Been doing this since it was posted, lots of refills (lose count).
So far, no leaking.

Now, these tanks have been known to lull me into a false sense of security, so I won't say it's a cure.
But looking very promising! If this is the fix, I'd be SO happy!

I have a couple Crowns I use the RBA deck on both mostly without problem. I've tried the S wick method but didn't like it. The way I do it now is I place the coil about 1.5mm off the hole in the deck, then I run the wick through, I place the scissors against the bottom of the deck with back of scissors touching the deck so I'm cutting the wick about 1mm longer on each side of the outside of the deck. That barely gives me enough length to push up the wick when putting the shield on. Then I just tuck the wick down covering the juice holes. I'm usually on the thicker side with VG being around 70% - 80% and I have on occasion had to pull the tank off and spread out the cotton a little more to help it wick better, usually when I've just used to much wick material (less is more) sometimes, other times I'll just take off the top and put it back on allowing it to put a little pressure into the tank & forcing juice into the wick. I'm usually vaping in the 23J - 25J range so it's not like I'm building coils similar to the prebuilt that come with it so that may be different than you. Only other thing I can think of for you to check if yours is leaking is make sure the little rubber O ring on the bottom of the deck is seated and not damaged. The way it's designed I think it would either have to be the seal or just flooding due to wicking, cant see any other way for juice to get past.
I ended up Drilling holes in the RBA barrel as I did with My Sub tank minis. Once I did that no dry hits I didn't get leaking because I could use more wicking to block off the air hole from liquid running down it. I just cant stand how it guzzles juice (stock or RBA builds)! The stock coils just sucked for me. At first I think it was because I was using my DNA40 which didn't have the watts to push some of them. I have the SX ML now but I wont buy anymore to try it. Still ...... I dropped My Griffin I was finally going to be able to do some bigger builds.

I just saw this on Alibaba's site. They offer it with an IPV5 but it says it's only $17-$30. I don't use that site at all but it had the specs on it. 2ml juice capacity?? What where they thinking? It better have a fast a full proof filling process. Don't think that will work with my consumption.
