New to all of it and already getting hooked. I picked up a E-Puff first (cost about $60 with some 18mg Grape E-juice from a local tobacco shop). Kind of enjoyed it but thought I was gonna talk like Vader the rest of my life (I quit Black & Milds cold about 3 months ago, after getting up to a pack a day). Swapped out for some 0Mg flavors, still rocking the puff, and picked up a bigger EGo style battery and a couple of Carto-tanks from a local Vape store. Now, about a week or so after, I find myself the owner of a gunmetal Vamo V2, Red Lavatube V2, and a variety of store purchased (yeah...about that) and ordered online flavors (Vape the Rockies and EC Blends custom blends, plus a few freebies they added in). Still getting it all figured out but I know one thing: I like Vapeing...keeps me from snacking and satisfies my tech-lust. On top of all that I have a few questions:

Using the Carto-Tanks with either the Vamo V2 or Lavatube V2 I get NO airflow, any thoughts or fix?

2 Viva Nova's and both give me burn hits unless I keep the the Volts and/or Watts lower than the Ohms would dictate. Any fix?

Rebuildable Tanks...better flavor from your juice? Worth the investment?

Kanger Pro Tank? Love it right now...Shoulda bought 2 more from Amazon.

Thanks in advance for putting up with the long post and random questions

With the Novas giving burned hits, make sure they're topped off as best as possible, let the liquid soak for five to ten minutes, and ensure your Vamo is set to RMS mode, think you hold down one of the smaller buttons for ten seconds or something and it'll display 'NO2' or similar, the button doesn't matter, just one of the two smaller ones. That's the same setup I run at 6-7 watts on my V2 and have no issues at all with dry/burned hits unless I'm vaping a particularly thick or very light flavor.

I learned my lesson on the other mode (NO1) with the Vamo...real bad idea. Do I need to replace the wicks on Nova's then or Just do as you said with topping off and letting them sit?

I have an octopus by smoktech...cheap but does the job. My husband has a nimbus...little pricey but not too bad we shopped around but that thing is awesome...I want one now. I just started vaping June 1st and I'm already on my mech mod. And RDA ...I was a little scared but I wanted that great throat hit, big clouds of vapor and stop wasting money on clearomizers...I was going thru those things like crazy.

Welcome! You will definitely get a lot more flavor and vapor out of rebuildables, depending on how you build them (check out the micro coil thread ;) ), plus you can order supplies and be set for a very long time for very little money.. ~$13 will get you 100ft of resistance wire and more cotton than you'll know what to do with. I would say either the Igo-L for a dripper, or an RSST for a tank style.. I don't have either, yet, but I've been watching videos and done tons of research on them and others in the same price class. I wish I would have ordered the Igo-L instead of picking up my Smoktech RDA.. Not that the Smoktech one is lousy, just some design features I like better about the Igo-L.

I started watching a review of the Octopus...i think they said something about the top coming loose kinda easily but I'm not fully sure. I'll look into the nimbus. Mech Mod? I've heard people calling (damn near all) the big battery Vapes Mods. I've seen a few wooden ones online. I looked at the Blade Mod simply because it looked like a Light Saber lol. Did you buy your Mech Mod or build it?

I had a burned wick on mine from vaping butterscotch at too high a wattage, just washed in hot water and let it dry overnight and I was good to go, YMMV.

Pretty much any battery tube/compartment will be referred to as a mod. A mechanical mod is purely mechanical, no electronics inside. This means they are not variable voltage and do not have protections, such as not firing below a certain resistance (most batteries/mods won't fire an atty under 1.2ohm). They can be great, but if you're going to get into rebuildables with a mech, you should make sure you have a multimeter or some other way to check the resistance of your builds, and you should definitely take a look into battery safety. Different batteries have different drain rates and bad things could possibly happen if you do some things you shouldn't.

Not to clued up yet but there is a difference between a mod and a mech mod. Mods are your non ego style pv while a meech is a battery with no circuit boards/protection. Maybe one of the fundis can explain better.

Yeah, this is pretty much how I understand it.

Mechanical mods are mods that don't have any circuits and is.... well mechanical even down to the firing system.

Mods such as the eVic, provari, and the lavatube are not mechanical because of the way they operate.
