Hello everyone..I have heard many great things about vaping and have finally came to the decision of wanting to quit smoking after 20yrs..I am just concerned with the flavors etc. I need it to feel like my cigs as much as possible so it can work for me. I smoke Marlboro Menthol..or Newport lights..what flavor would you recommend for mw..I appreciate your help.

Hi Deelizdish and welcome to ECF.

Congratulation on your decision to vape and cut down or totally quit smoking.

As far as tobacco flavors all I can say is that you won't find an eliquid flavor that will be exactly the same as your cigarette. I smoked for more than 40 years and started with tobacco flavors. I soon started experimenting with sweet flavors, moved to fruity flavors and now I'm vaping all of the above.

Your tastebuds will change and you will enjoy the different experiences. Just get something with a tobacco flavor, try a few, and before you know it you will have cut down on the number of cigarettes you smoke or even quit altogether.

I've recently found Vape Wild. Their juices are very reasonably priced and if you spend $15, they'll send you free samples. They also have a sample package for about $16 for 6 flavors and if you spend more than $25, the shipping is free. My only relationship with Vape Wild is as a customer and am just giving out the suggestion. Shop around, there may be other vendors out there that send out free samples too.

Just enjoy the vaping, and continue to smoke if you have to. The day will come when you light a cigarette and gag. That's what happened to me 3 years ago.

The nicotine level is the physical need. I started a touch higher than I thought and got the confidence. Also, my taste buds were messed up from smoking, so it took a couple of months. Just my experience.

The samplers are a very good idea. Many flavors say, just like...", but it is just the makers interpretation. Also, your equipment will have a good bit of influence.

Just focus on getting your nicotine. Also, get spares for your spares. I keep a complete kit in the car. I am rarely far from that.

The flavors...take notes. It keeps me off cigs, slowly lowers my nicotine and has become a hobby. It is great.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your decision! After 45 years of 2.5 packs a day of Marlboro 100 Reds, I started vaping with unflavored nicotine - and the first time I tried a tobacco flavor, I thought it was the worst thing I had ever tasted (and it had come very highly recommended, from a reliable supplier whose other flavors I love). That was the first and only tank of juice I just poured down the sink. Gave the rest away. So it may not be the flavor you need, but just the nicotine. When you place your first juice order, get some flavors in addition to the tobacco ones - you too may find that they're just not your thing and it would be nice to have some alternative available. Maybe get some plain menthol for the throat hit and flavor. Best of luck with your journey!

I smoked about 1/2 a pack to a pack a day of Newport 100's and I started with a 12 nic level. I like a big hit with a lot of vapor so that was a little too much for me and instantly went to a 6 in about a week or so. I stayed on the 6 nic for about a year on and off and I just got my first mechanical mod and a dripper so now I'm at a 3 nic level and have a few bottles of 4. You'd be surprised how much the vapor and the throat hit (if you like one) trick your brain into thinking you're getting your fix regardless of the nic level. For me smoking anything has always been more of a habit than the actual nicotine. Go down to your local shop if they have a tasting bar and try out some of everything; some flavors you wouldn't expect to like may be enjoyable for you! Good luck!
